Her penultimate novel, Isabel's War , was named a 2015 Sydney Taylor Honor Award winner in the Teen Readers Category, and was well reviewed in the Wall Street Journal , New York Times , Publishers Weekly , School Library Journal , and Kirkus , among other places. She died in 2013 at the age of ninety-two.

Lilli's quest is not like the other holocaust books for it is not as sad as most. I have read other books about the holocaust and this is nothing compared to them. Lilli is a half Jew who has a mother and father and a younger sister named helga. Helga is one year younger than lilli and does not want to leave. Lilli has an aunt and uncle that live in America and she must take the kinder transport to leave Europe before everything bad happens. She goes an the most exhausting journey that I have heard since the hobbit. She meets new friends and then looses them on the way to America. It's kinda confusing but you should get the hang of it.
