Diana Taylor's marriage to playboy Coburn Grant was short, passionate and blazed brightly until the reality of their different worlds set in. Now, years later, Coburn has finally agreed to a divorce. Except one last pleasurable night together seals their fate—with a baby!
Diana knows Coburn will never sign the papers now—he will have his wife and child. And, whisked away to a tropical island paradise, it's increasingly difficult to ignore their primal hunger for each other. With his legacy growing inside her, can Diana deny the one man she could never resist?
Jennifer Hayward has been a fan of romance since filching her sister’s novels to escape her teenage angst. Her career in journalism and PR, including years of working alongside powerful, charismatic CEOs and traveling the world, has provided perfect fodder for the fast-paced, sexy stories she likes to write—always with a touch of humor.
Since her debut in 2013, as the winner of Harlequin’s So You Think You Can Write global writing contest, she’s written over eighteen titles and sold over two million copies of her books to readers in 31 countries, in 25 languages. A native of Canada’s East Coast, Jennifer lives in picturesque Nova Scotia with her husband and son.
This book just didn't do it for me. In fact, I hated it-despised it and it disgusted me. There were several big stumbling blocks that troubled me a good deal and I will name a couple later in this review.
Diana Taylor is a surgeon who married billionaire CEO Coburn Grant while serving her residency. He was anything but an understanding man and tried to micro-manage her life and career. He knew what her grueling hours were like when he asked her to marry him but after the marriage he complained about it incessantly. It had to be his way or the highway and Diana simply could not please the man no matter how hard she tried. He made her feel her career had no importance and he was just an all around jerk.
When she could take no more of his constant complaining and ridicule and it is evident she can do nothing to please him outside of bed, she packs her bags and leaves. They do not discuss divorce at this point but within a couple of months he is back to his man-whoring ways. He also brags about his beautiful blonde neighbor who now shares his bed every night. When the affairs leak to the press it just about destroys Diana and she files for divorce. He continues with his debauchery yet refused to sign the divorce papers.
He is furious when he attends an engagement party and Diana is there also. How dare her show up to an event that he is attending! He was such an ass, rude and nasty, almost ruining the party for the engaged couple. Coburn thinks way too highly of himself and it is a bit sickening for this reader. Diana is readying to leave the country to join 'Doctors Without Borders' stationed in Africa. She wants this divorce finalized and off her mind before she leaves. He and Diana are due to meet with the attorney the next day and he has finally agreed to sign the papers.
The couple ends up having a final night together, a night with consequences.
Coburn was not a likable character in my opinion. He was way out of line in several areas and reminded me of a narcissist. Having affairs while still married, for me, was the ruination of the book. Yes they were separated, but remember divorce had never been mentioned when he begins seeing other women. When his wife mentions his extra curricular activities his comment is...you know my sex drive and you were not around to take care of it so I had to look elsewhere. He also was hell-bent on punishing her for leaving him and I was fed up with the demeaning way he treated and talked to her, trying to control her every move. I had a tough time making it through the book but I am in a very small majority thus far. You should read it and decide for yourself. I really don't want my review to stop anyone from reading the book just because there were triggers that result in me disliking a book and they may not bother you at all.
The angst at the beginning was great. Both the H/h are bitter after the surgeon heroine walked out on their marriage a year before. They are on the brink of divorce when they encounter each other at an engagement party. The hero uses his toast to the engaged couple to obliquely insult the heroine. Yet, they have sex that very night, which leads to a pregnancy.
Then the story gets bogged down.
Hero is sorry/not sorry for committing adultery during their separation. Heroine is sorry/not sorry for just walking out and not talking anything through. By the end of the story neither has learned anything. Heroine will continue with her workaholic ways (she’s a surgeon) and hero will just do all his risk taking in the office rather than on a mountain slope.
I didn't like this heroine. It makes me sad when people put their career in front of their child. She was ok with her baby being dropped of at day cares or spending time with nannies instead of his parents. This book was like a feminist manifesto, boring and preachy. Not a fan of this author.
It's considered human trafficking to force someone into a marriage they don't want to be in and to force them to another country. It is also considered spousal abuse to take away their cellphone/communications.
REUNITED FOR THE BILLIONAIRE’S LEGACY by author Jennifer Hayward is October 2015 release by Harlequin Presents series.
Diana Taylor was looking forward to getting her divorce. She just wanted Coburn Grant to sign on the dotted line so she could be free of her marriage. And free to start life with a clean slate.
But Coburn had other ideas. And she played right in his hand when they had a last passion filled night together and it had consequences. Now Coburn wanted to try to put their marriage together again for the sake of the baby. Could Diana try it for the baby’s sake, for Coburn’s sake and for her own sake? What about Diana’s career? Would she have to give up her surgeon’s job to be there for Coburn and their family?
REUNITED FOR THE BILLIONAIRE’S LEGACY is a shimmering story of reunion. Diana and Coburn, though separated never lost the passion and chemistry and love they had for each other. Author Jennifer Hayward brought this scorching romance full of passion and emotional intensity.
On page 97 I DNF'd Reunited for the Billionaire's Legacy. At that point I lost all interest in the heroine and her hea. She ruined a potentially good romance with her cold focus on her career. It mattered more than her marriage. I tried to warm to her but it was a lost cause. Also, too much psycho-analysing. It went on way too long prolly because there wasn't much chemistry between the hero and heroine..
What a disappointment as I love second chance at love with pregnancy trope.
This one is a story of passion and a need to be honest with each other on the eve of their divorce Diana and Coburn come face to face at a party they have managed to steer clear of each other for the past year but with Diana deciding to do something that she really wants to do to make a difference she is pulled to see her husband just before the papers are signed and this starts Coburn's blood boiling with passion.
Diana had lead a life with a father who thought nothing of having affairs and a mother that just put up with them but now she is a surgeon and a good one but when she marries billionaire Coburn Grant their marriage is hot explosive and filled with passion but neither are willing to give for each other you see Coburn's childhood was not the best either so when their marriage ends they avoid each other until now when their supposedly last night of marriage ends very pleasurably but leaves Diana pregnant this will change their lives.
This is such a great story that will pull you in and have you turning the pages as Coburn all but kidnaps Diana to an island paradise when he finds out she is pregnant to discuss their lives and that of their child there are many conflicts to overcome but their passion is still there stronger than ever but Diana wants love from Coburn the love that she still has for him, you will love their rocky journey to a HEA their honesty and the sensuality that you can feel from them is awesome. I highly recommend this story I am never disappointed with one of MS Haywards stories.
This was a story about second chances. It was a journey about holding onto love, and balancing work schedules, and careers. Diana, and Coburn was a day away from a divorce. They hadn't seen each other in 12 months. They didn't want to admit it but they still loved one another. The passion, and chemistry still burned red HOT. Sex was never the problem. Love was never the problem, but could it be enough for this couple to reunite? When it came down to signing the papers, Coburn couldn't sign. He couldn't let her go. This was a beautiful journey full of up's and downs, and learning to be honest with one another. **************************************************** Christmas at the Castello was a bonus short story. It was short, but it brought out strong emotions in me, and made me cry. I know most of the time children that live in orphanages never get adopted. This story really touched my heart. Dara was married to Leo. He accepted that she could never have children. She thought she had too. She loved her job, and was good at it. When her husband went out of town, she found herself spending more time at a orphanage. The bound she made with a little boy named Luca was special. You will have to read to find out if the 3 can become a family. I loved this short story. I wished it was longer, but it packed an emotional punch.
REUNITED FOR THE BILLIONAIRE'S LEGACY by Jennifer Hayward is the second book in The Tenacious Tycoon series. It tells the story of Diana Taylor and Coburn Grant.
Ms. Hayward has done an incredible job penning this story. With the right words the author brings out the raw emotions her characters feel, giving readers a clear perspective to the renewed romance that builds with each chapter. The characters are strong, resilient and well-developed. And for me Diana proves to be the one with the most strength and self-will to face her problems head on. Coburn has the will of a warrior and his strength and his masculine grace makes him the perfect hero for his heroine. The dialogue is edgy and the chemistry just catches fire between the pages…
Overall, REUNITED FOR THE BILLIONAIRE'S LEGACY is a beautiful story and the perfect escape read for fans needing a timeout from a long day of hard work. Sit back, prop your feet up and enjoy!
I’d been somewhat intrigued about Coburn from his brother’s book but just... no. What a huge disappointment.
The H is a cheating, dishonorable pig. He’s carrying on in ongoing affairs with OW and we’re supposed to believe he had one shred of care for his wife? I don’t think so.
Why on earth she’d ever trust him, I will never understand.
I like romance in my romance novels and this was utterly unromantic crap. (Sorry.)
This was a terrible choice by HP... to publish a romance novel where the couple actually should be apart is a disservice to the readers.
This was a book that was ultimately about compromise but it didn't feel like it was about compromise, what with the kidnapping and ultimatums. So I don't know if I was actually down with the compromise struck.
As Coburn Grant prepares to offer up a toast at a friend’s wedding, the last person he ever expects to see walks in………his soon to be ex-wife, Diana. Needless to say, he didn’t deliver the toast he had prepared. Instead he issued a toast wrought with warnings about love not being enough and to be very sure about what they’re getting into. He then wishes the couple well, and leaves. He had no idea that Diana would follow.
When Diana confronts him at his apartment, things heat up to the point where Coburn thinks that one last roll in the hay will rid him of what he feels for Diana and get her out of his system. Diana knows that she’s made a huge mistake afterwards and practically runs out of his apartment. She has a few weeks before she leaves New York for Africa, where she has accepted a position with Doctors Without Borders. There, she feels that she can finally do something meaningful as a pediatric surgeon and not be in her father’s shadow, who is a world renowned orthopedic surgeon. She also wouldn’t have to worry about running into Coburn. However, when she shows up the next morning for her meeting with Coburn and his attorney to finalize their divorce, she finds that Coburn has changed his mind, and won’t sign the papers. Furious, she leaves and heads home.
Diana only has a few weeks before she leaves for Africa. But during those weeks, she discovers that their last time together not only broke her heart, but left her pregnant as well. She makes the decision to go to Africa, get her head on straight and then let Coburn know that they’re going to have a baby. When Coburn receives a call from Diana’s doctor’s office,(Diana hadn’t changed her contact info), he discovers she’s pregnant and she left the country anyway.
Coburn flies to Africa and Diana is surprised to find him at her hotel when she got back that particular night. She gives in and leaves with him. She knows she’s in over her head with being pregnant and not feeling well in a third world country, and heads home. Only when they are about to land does she discover that she’s not actually being taken home, but to some remote island where Coburn vows that they WILL work out what’s between them for the sake of the baby. But, can Diana stay with someone who only wants things to work out for the good of their unborn child and live without love? Well my friends, you’ll just have to read to find out……..And, oh, what a read it is!
Jennifer Hayward has once again written a wonderful story that grabs you from the very first. Diana wants so bad to be independent and make her own way in the world, but her father constantly overshadows her. She is also so afraid of being in a marriage that is in name only, just like her parents. The same can be said of Coburn. He feels that he’s never going to be able to live up to his brother’s expectations, let alone live up to their dead father’s legacy. Once Diana and Coburn decide to really try to work things out, what follows will break your heart and ultimately have you cheering for them both. Reunited for the Billionaire’s Legacy is ultimately a book about letting go of preconceived notions, and your past, to see what can truly be. I’ll say it again. If you’re not reading Jennifer Hayward, you are seriously missing out. And, again, I’d read a phonebook written by Jennifer Hayward. There are no wasted words, no repetitiveness, (which is becoming an issue with several authors that I read) which leaves a beautiful story. Well done, Jennifer Hayward. Very, very well done!
On the eve of their divorce and after a long 12 months Coburn and Diana come face to face at Coburn’s best friend’s engagement party. His prepared speech dead in the water, Coburn proceeds to deliver a speech for which he won’t be thanked and which clearly shows his wife still brings out the worst in him. They finally have their long overdue discussion which leads to a very intimate scene on a balcony and a beautifully heartbreaking one in the bedroom. The divorce doesn’t take place but consequences of that night send Coburn on a mission around the world to retrieve Diana and haul her home determined to make his marriage work. Diana is a surgeon (no this isn’t a medical) and her long hours had driven her and Coburn apart, in English that translates to Coburn wasn’t mature enough to share her with her demanding job, they had an image to uphold and he was selfishly sick of only being half of the image. No this isn’t a Medical romance although a medical emergency was a pivotal moment in the book. Flashbacks show Diana being pulled and tugged in all directions, Coburn, her job, her parents; it’s only fair she snaps. Coburn runs the country’s largest automotive manufacturer and I love how he’s not the typical Presents hero (actually neither is Diana) but he comes through just as strong and as passionate as any other Presents hero does. I love how he tells Diana they have soul-searching to do and I love how he does his best to give their marriage a second shot. There are many reasons why I give this story 5 stars… the first being Jennifer Hayward has a magical way with words. Perfect imagery and amazing little details to describe a moment… Coburn gave his silk tie a tug so it didn’t feel as if he was choking on his own cynicism… The room was so silent you could hear the clinking of swizzle sticks as the bartenders mixed drinks… Every party, social function, night he’d come home to an empty house flashed through his head in rapid-fire succession to counter the stab of pain that lanced through him… the dagger cut through her as cleanly as her own surgeon’s scalpel… I could do an entire emotional autopsy on you Coburn… I can just go on and on and I must also mention the start of Chapter Five when Coburn finds out about Diana’s secret. I was right there on that street, watching the coffee cup, hoping it didn’t fall off the roof of the car and I felt the wind in my face when they sailed together later on. Other reasons, I loved the fantastic and explosive dialogue, I was totally hooked from the first chapter and I took everything chance I could to devour the book in the weekend I started reading it. I loved the different from normal characters and I loved the backstories and the originality of Coburn’s workplace emergency. I loved that Coburn tried to genuinely make things work but it wouldn’t be a Presents if things were resolved easily. Please look up the opening chapter Jennifer has put on Wattpad, the opening chapter had me hooked, I loved it and the remaining story was just as breathtaking.

No one really ever wants to get a divorce, yes sure you do if your husband has gone from kissing you senseless to knocking you senseless , so sure sometimes there is a good reason but for the most part I think it’s never really a I want to. But imagine for a second if you really do for whatever reason, and it gets denied? Heck what do you do then? That’s the reality Diana Taylor has to face, her marriage to playboy Corburn Grant was short, passionate and blazed brighter than the sun, until the reality of their worlds kick in. Years later , it has come to either we just continue this mess or we end it, so Corburn finally agrees to a divorce, but then who wants to let his or her partner walk away without one last fling amongst the sheets? Not these two, but their last night seals their fates when Diana becomes pregnant. Now what? Diana knows what, she will never get Corburn to sign the papers and she will never get away from him. Being whisked away to a paradise island and having to deal with the ever growing always persistent huger between them certainly does not help her quest. Will he win her back again or will she once again want to run? In the start of the book I really did not like Coburn, but as the author started to show him as he truly was I got quite the kick out of his little antics. Diana was fun and creative, I really liked her “Oh word what do I do now” moments of panic, I felt sorry for her of course, but it was very entertaining to see how the author got her through those moments of panic. A brilliantly written read of life aiming a curveball and striking its target head on! Beautiful plot with exquisite emotion, tears, joy, passion, heartache, frustration you name it this book had all of the emotions that make an A class romance read. One thing that struck me as particularly fun was the intense fire between the characters, I have felt that in this author’s other books but this time it was more amplified, almost as if the author has found some new way of expressing herself, the fire was intense, in your face and very much leapt from the pages, the read was alive! I highly recommend this read for all fans of romances. Jennifer‘s books are like diamonds, they will always, always be the magic to make hearts melt! 5/5 star review “ Reunited in the heat of passion, but will it see them to the end?”
Diana and Coburn are about to divorce after a long separation and it is time that everything be settled between them for them to finally move forward (not really the case for Coburn).
Seeing each other at Coburn's friend's engagement ceremony - which I must mentioned that Coburn ruined with his Best Man speech - they could not resist once more tumbling into bed. The chemistry still has a high sizzle and sparkle. A tumble that has consequences.
*I don't think that is giving away anything because the cover as much already.
Well... back to what I think.
Without informing her husband, (yes, husband. He won't sign the papers. Totally believes she is hiding something and he is so on the mark with that.) Diana goes off to the Africa to help people. Did I mention she is a doctor? She is! Though there were times when all she wanted was a career in the City but now is running away. Running away from Coburn. Woman just stand and fight for your man.
But, the cat gets out of the bag and Coburn finds out about the baby. How can he let his baby suffer in the wilds of Africa, right? They are thinking more about each other rather than the baby at the moment to be honest.
In the guise of making a perfect home for the baby, they work out their differences and welcome their little one along with their forever after.
I love Hayward's books, especially The Italian's Deal For I Do!! Definitely DIK status on that one. But REUNITED didn't thrill me. Hayward's a fine writer and possesses a great ability to draw you into her characters' lives. Of course, I stayed up late to finish it 'cause that's how the HP and I roll. A peculiar disconnect happens to the hero in particular that left me reader-displeased. I liked the heroine a lot and thought her surgeon's career fascinating. But her weakness for a hero who starts out urbane and interesting but turns into some kind of kidnapping, chest-thumping, Paul Anka-crooning "You're having my baby" alpha-hole made me lose respect for her. All in all, hero and heroine go from interesting to contradictory and inconsistent in mere pages. BUT, which is why I'll continue to read Hayward, when their vulnerable backstories emerge ... well, dammit, I was all sympathetic again. I'm glad I stayed up to give them a chance for reader-redemption. The writing is smooth and elegant as always and that's another reason to read Hayward, who's writing some of the finest HPs for readers' delectation. (I didn't read the novella included in the volume, so I can't say if it's any good. I don't like novellas.)
Please note I received a copy of REUNITED from the Ms Hayward.

"Reunited for the Billionaire's Legacy/Christmas at the Castello" by Jennifer Hayward is a quick, easy, enjoyable read. Diana Taylor and Coburn Grant were married, but separated. After years of being apart Coburn decides to divorce Diana but after they meet up again their passions take over. Diana leaves again but shortly finds out that their night of passion has resulted in her being pregnant. Now the real story starts to take place. Want to know what happens? You're going to have to read this for yourself. It's classic romance with a slightly modern twist. Loved it!
A thoroughly enjoyable read! I loved reading about Coburn and Diana, the follow-up to Harrison and Frankie's story, Tempted by Her Billionaire Boss. The ultimate Alpha male, Coburn has a long hard journey to reach his HEA and Ms. Hayward does a great job telling his story, as well as showing us how Diana realizes her short comings and does what she needs to do to keep the man she loves. Another enthralling read from Ms. Hayward and I'm looking forward to her next one!
Once again Jennifer Hayward proved that I won't be dissapointed if I read her book. Coburn had his moments in which I just wanted to punch him but it has every other character so it's not a bad thing...not at all. I really liked Diana although I might not agree with every single of her decision but she was strong and stood her ground. I can't wait for Jennifer's new book. ;o)
You know when there is a secondary character that really stands out in the main story and can't wait/dread the characters story? I loved Coburn in his brothers story and In so glad his own is so awesome.

Harlequin Presents Published September 2015 | The Tenacious Tycoons Series
Coburn Grant a CEO of his family company and his soon to be surgeon ex wife Diana go to the same party the day before they are to sign divorce papers. Diana and Coburn had arguments mainly about her always working as she was building her career, after one such argument she walked out and never came back. Since Coburn has not seen her since , Sounds like it would be an interesting party to be at, true because they find themselves in a discussion that moves to Coburn's apartment and then to yes you guessed it bed. Coburn decides at the lawyers office that he wants more time before he signs the divorce which angers Diana as she wants to start new by going to Africa with Doctors without borders, that sounds like a plan but she finds out two weeks after her one night with Coburn that she is pregnant. She leaves for Africa anyway and a misplaced call lets Coburn know about the pregnancy. So he flies to Africa to bring her back feeling like in his words "he entered an alternate universe where condoms failed on the one night you had sex with your ex , who you were now tied to for at least the next two decades". Coburn is incredible any women can only wish they had someone that would love them like he does Diana, at times too much but he is to die for when you realize how much he loves her. Coburn and Diana both have family issues that have clouded their understanding of love however their love for each other is so deep that no matter what it will survive. That is all I will tell you readers about this story because its an incredible book by Jennifer Hayward that only reaffirms what an amazing talented author she is. Jennifer gave me this book for an honest review and I cannot thank her enough because I have loved all her books and this one is another fantastic one. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. This is the second book of Grant brothers and I knew in the first that Coburn had to have his own story. I thank her for the book and thank you for Coburn he is a keeper. Never miss a Jennifer Hayward book they are everything a romance reader could ask for and more. A KEEPER.
