Fighting the Fall is book two in the Beyond the Cage series by Jennifer Snow. This book was generously provided to me in exchange for an honest review by the author.

The title for this book couldn’t be more perfect. This is the story of two completely different people from two completely different worlds that were both raised and programmed to put their careers first, before everything and everyone else, including themselves. When their lives are brought together, both believe that there is no room for another person, no room for anything but to focus on the goals of their careers. Sometimes, though, fate has other ideas.

MMA Fighter:

Tyson Reed is an MMA fighter and currently holds the MFL Light-Heavyweight championship belt. But Tyson doesn’t feel like it is truly his title until he has defended it. An opportunity that he will be fulfilling in just two short months. So his life consists of preparing for that fight. His daily mantra is “Tomorrow I will be better.” Tyson’s father is his coach and pushes Tyson like no other. Any other time he has is spent working with others at the gym his family owns. Ty loves women but there is no room in his life for anything but one night stands. That’s why the day Parker Hamilton walked into his gym looking for a trainer, he pawned her off on one of the other fighters in the gym.

movie set:

Parker Hamilton is a movie actress. She was raised by her Grandmother after the death of her parents. Her Grandmother is a retired actress and Parker was raised and trained for nothing but the big screen. She had enjoyed huge success until recently. Following her break-up with the famous director she had been dating, her career has been going down hill and scripts are becoming fewer and farther between. It was a script for a little indie film about a female MMA fighter that made her think that this was what could turn her career back around. But she has to train. She is rail thin with no muscle mass what-so-ever. And she knows just who she wants to train her.

female MMA fighter training:

”He was so private and closed off, it only made her want to get closer, peel back the layers…and the clothing.”

The attraction sizzles between these two from the start. It was only a matter of time before they couldn’t resist each other any longer. But would one night ever be enough?

“His life was far too complicated and too busy as it was. Getting involved with Parker would be the biggest mistake he could think of.”

“Why is it that you’re the last thing I need right now, but the only thing I want” he growled.

kissing:

At the same time, Ty’s life seems to be spiraling out of control. His older brother re-surfaces and needs Ty’s help. And one of the fighters in his gym is in trouble. Add to that his feelings for Parker and Ty’s training has taken a back seat and is suffering. He needs to concentrate on his upcoming fight but life seems to keep getting in the way.

man on a motorcycle:

I really did enjoy this book so much. I feel like Jennifer’s writing just keeps getting better and better and I really like where she is going with this series. The chemistry between Ty and Parker is sizzling from the start and it was almost painful to watch them both fight it, to sacrifice so much for their careers. I also enjoyed a little bit of an update from Walker and Gracie from book one. If you enjoy MMA romances, then I encourage you to give this series a try. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I have.

Jennifer Snow doesn’t pull any punches with her steamy, sexy romance about a strong silent fighter and a beautiful, fun, flirty Hollywood star who go head to head for a match of the heart.
He released her wrist and grabbed her hips with both hands, pulling her roughly toward him. “Why is it that you’re the last thing I need right now, but the only f*cking thing I want?”

Parker Hamilton’s once brilliant childhood acting career has been deteriorating since before her break up with one of tinsel town’s most popular directors. Raised by her formaly Hollywood darling grandmother, she’s determined to succeed and has found a small independent gem of a film which she has faith will grant her the comeback she needs. There are just a few glitches. She’s not prepared for the female lead’s role as an MMA fighter and the man she knows can help her train for it refuses to even let her in his gym.

Fighting was his life. Being the best, defending his light-heavyweight title and living up to his father’s legacy and expectations should be Tyson Reed’s only goal. Relationships were distractions, he’d never had one and probably never would. He has no time for the enticing curves and confident sexuality Parker brings much less for the problems his brother’s reappearance have brought. It seems though, that training Parker is the only way he can afford to help his brother. He will Fight the Fall of his heart, but in the end, will he even want to?

I loved this opposites attract novel. Tyson and Parker come from very different worlds. He was a very private, rough around the edges alpha-male who felt he was only as good as his title belt. She was all smiles and on constant diets being raised with a twisted sense of self-worth, believing she was only as good as her looks. They both had more than their scorching attraction in common though. Both were strong and determined, and held their careers as top priority and neither thought to have time or space for anything or anyone else, because both had also lived in the shadows of their mentors.

Even though they start out on opposite sides, literally because Tyson had her training with another fighter, it was only a matter of time before they got tangled in more than a session of grappling techniques.

I could understand his reluctance and wanting to protect himself, but there were still a couple of times I wanted to strangle Tyson for fighting his feelings for her. Especially when his tender actions said much more than hollow words while they gave so much happiness to each other.
“He made her feel more loved, cherished, and admired than anyone ever had without saying the words.”
_____
“If he could learn to trust that being with her didn’t mean giving up everything else he cared about, the goals he worked so hard to achieve for himself and his family, that being with someone only made everything else that much better.”

But Parker effectively breaks down his walls, discovering how well they complement each other. It was deliciously sweet watching them fall.
“He was so private and closed off, it only made her want to get closer, peel back the layers . . . and the clothing”

Fighting the Fall is book #2 in the Beyond the Cage series by Jennifer Snow. It’s an action packed MMA romance, that’s sensual and touching. Told from both point of view with charming secondary characters and a happy ending. It can be read as a standalone.

Fighting the Fall is the 2nd book in the Beyond the Cage series by Jennifer Snow. I was surprised with this book because while I liked the first one, I liked this one even more. People that follow my review blog know that one of my biggest pet peeves in books, is Vegas settings and Fighting the Fall takes place there. However, unlike most books written with a Vegas setting, these ones don’t focus on it. I absolutely loved it, despite that pet peeve!

The story is told primarily from an alternative third person point-of-view between the main characters. It does have an HEA, and no cliffhanger. As with the first book in the series, I enjoyed the author’s writing style. I enjoyed a different take on an fighter style sports romance.

As for the main characters… usually I do tend to favor one over the other but with Parker and Tyson, I didn’t! I would say there is pretty even ground there.

Parker is a determined, stubborn, optimistic and that is just to name a few things. She’s not about to let her career go down in flames. Admirable, is how I’d best describe this character. She fights for what and who she believes in and she goes after what she wants. I love how she was persistent in this book. She sets goals and she knocks them out of the ball park.

Tyson on the other hand, is training for his own big fight. He doesn’t want to, but ends up taking time out of his own schedule to help Parker. His family issues are what kick it off, but before long, he’s in it to support Parker. When she has issues, he talks her down from the ledge she gets on. (I don’t want to go into the issues, it’s something you’ll need to read.) Although he’s standoffish and grouchy at first, you come to find out he’s got a soft center and he is definitely a fixer.

Sparks fly between them instantly, but neither does anything about it. In fact, you would think that Tyson hated Parker, but he doesn’t. He keeps her at arms length as best as he can. Parker on the other hand, doesn’t know what his deal is or why he acts the way he does. It makes for a mild amount of angst but doesn’t over do it and keeps the reading fun.

Sure, you do have a cast of co-stars, but only two really stood out to me in this book. They are great supporting cast though and I am hoping that one of them gets his own book.

Overall, I’m giving Fighting the Fall 4 stars. Do I recommend it? I’d say read it, for sure. Especially if you’ve read the first book in the Beyond the Cage series. Will I be waiting for the next book in the series? You betcha! I danced around waiting for this one!

Because they amuse me.. I'll leave the gifs on here. ;)

When you get an ARC of a book that goes to a series that you reaaaaally want to read. Ooh yeah.

Fighting The Fall started off a little bit slow for me. I couldn’t grasp the premise of the story. When I see MMA, naturally I am going to be looking for those hot men in the hot shorts, grappling and loving just as hard as they fight. I did not expect a hot man and a woman who needed to become an MMA fighter for a roll in a movie. Enter my WTF face and a little giggle. Well, if anything this had me reading the story just to see where is was going to lead me.

Tyson was one arrogant man …. He knew he was good, he knew he worked hard to get where he was and nothing was going to distract him. Not his brother and, especially not some hot-bodied starlet looking to take up his time and training just so she could land a movie roll. But, circumstances being what they were and the sudden need for money, he has no choice but take her on and train her. God, he was attracted to her and she to him but there was no way he was giving in to the lust. Love them – leave them satisfied – no going back for seconds. She was not that kind of girl and he did not do relationships.

Finding this role was the best thing that happened to Parker. She knew this would put her back in the spotlight without the help of her grandmother or her cheating ex-boyfriend. Now, to find a gym to train her for the part, find the man that could whip her into shape and put her back on top. Tyson Reed was the only one to do this. But, she didn’t expect him to be so unwelcoming or nasty. There had to be a way to convince him to take her on and show him that she could do this in time for the movie.

Together, they found a way for her to train. It may not have been her ideal way, but, at least he let her into the gym. Dane may have been her trainer but she could see him watching, waiting and trying his hardest to stay away from her. Then, when he took over her training, Tyson no longer had the willpower to stop anything else from happening and Parker didn’t want him to either.

Two different worlds collided. There was no way that Parker would give up her acting career and there was no way Tyson would fit into her world. But, Parker became a distraction … one night became two became three … dates, late nights. His training out the window and for what, a woman looking to make her ex-boyfriend jealous and to leave him? Does he work on getting everything back on track or does he give her the words she needs and take a leap of faith that she truly does love him?

Filled with a little bit of angst, a lot of mistrust, Fighting The Fall turned out to be a great love story. I never saw a man so reluctant to face his feelings or a woman who would let him fight his way through them with such patience. So, in the end, Jennifer Show transformed my WTF face into my Hell Yeah! face. I am so happy that I fought through the beginning of the book and fought through my frustrations with Tyson and finished it. I was thrilled with the way it ended and couldn’t have been happier that Tyson finally found a way to say everything that he couldn’t verbalize.

Snow is a new author to me and I am happy to say I fully enjoyed reading this story. I'm sorry I missed the first book in this series but I will be correcting that mistake ASAP.

Parker is an actress and her movie career is in a major slump. It's been a year since she broke it up with her ex cheating boyfriend who was a famous director. Parker gets a script for a film about a female mma fighter and goes to Tyson for help to land the role that could get her career back on track.

Tyson runs a gym with his father and he is a good fighter. He does everything to push Parker away from joining his gym but when his has some trouble Tyson has no choice but to take her up on her offer. What Tyson didn't know is that dealing with Parker will lead to his own knockout.

From the beginning you can feel the tension and attention from these two characters. I loved how Tyson would avoid her but couldn't help but look at her. They had so much sexual tension that dripped from page to page.

Although these two couldn't be so different they fell into somewhat of a routine that totally worked for there characters. Parker wanted a forever while Tyson did one night stands. Once Tyson gets with Parker no other female compares but the way Snow explains it was outstanding.

I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to not only reading more of this series but more of this author. This book is worth reading that's for sure!

Ha, there really was no way in hell I was turning down a delicious fighter and a Hollywood starlet—there’s just something about that idea that had me at attention…as did the actual book. For the most part.

It took me no time at all to get into Fighting the Fall. I was into it, and WAY into the idea of Parker and Tyson together, from pretty much the first page. The characters—both of whom could have been completely unlikeable—were smart, sassy, stubborn and asshole-ish enough to pique my interest, and I’ve already admitted to being intrigued by the idea of a big, bad MMA fighter and a sexy, seductive actress. And, as a consequence, I was well more than halfway through this book before I was able to put it down…and only then because it was nearing 2am and I was struggling to stay awake.

However, when I picked it back up to finish it off, I struggled more than I would have expected. Somewhere between 2am and morning tea time, I lost my connection to these characters. They got to a certain point and just…there was a disconnect. There were moments that would have cemented Tyson and Parker’s relationship in my mind which felt rushed or glossed over, and moments that felt important to the story that were then not given their due when the time came. And it troubled me. I kept going because there were some really exciting elements this story, but I was left feeling satisfied if a little unfilled by the somewhat abrupt ending.

That being said, I will most certainly be back for more of this series. There are lingering questions in my mind that I hope—I suspect—will be answered in the next book, and I desperately want to know and discover them. It’s already got my attention, so I definitely won’t be turning it down either. ~ Beth, 3.5 stars

After enjoying Walker Adams in the first book of this Beyond the Cage series, it was like meeting up with an old friend to see him show up in several scenes in this book. This time, it's Tyson, his hard-nosed trainer's turn to be front and center. He's training for a big fight to defend his championship belt, but keeps getting distracted.

First, actress Parker Hamilton shows up asking him to train her for a movie roll she's auditioning for. On her way to being washed up in Hollywood, she is determined to get the lead as an MMA fighter in an Indie film, but needs to get some training FAST! Tyson has no interest in helping her and sends her on her way. He soon has to rethink that when his second distraction shows up. His drug addict brother swears he wants to get clean, but he owes some dealers money and they are threatening his life. Tyson has to backtrack and agree to let Parker train at his gym because he needs the money she's offering to pay him to help his brother.

Seeing her in the gym every day is just as distracting as he thought it would be. When the trainer he has working with her is called away for a family emergency, he has to step in and work with her himself. He can no longer keep his hands off her, and they grow closer.

Will she win the part that has come to mean so much to her? Will Tyson win his big fight? Can they make a relationship work or will he continue to be a loner and push her away?

Parker knows how to drive her man crazy, "he ascended the stairs and she traced her fingers along his neck, feeling him swallow hard. “Parker, if you don’t stop, I’m taking you right here on the stairs.” In order to shut her man up Parker has to take action, "he closed his eyes, breathing in the scent of her, afraid to let her go. “But I want to be that kind of man for you. I lo . . .” She kissed him again— hard— preventing him from saying the words." I enjoyed this book I liked Tyson.

I thought this story was great!! Tyson Reed is one hot badass MMA fighter and the last thing he needs is a distraction when he's trying to train for his upcoming fight to defend his title. Parker Hamilton is definitely a distraction. A distraction that is willing to pay a huge amount to have him train her for an upcoming movie role. With his brother in trouble, again, he has no choice but to accept her offer. He needs to ignore his attraction to her, he should push her off on another trainer. He won't be able to do either of those and this time he might be down for the count.

I loved these characters. They are complete opposites and live in two very different worlds but somehow work perfectly together. This is a great read and one I highly recommend to everyone.

I don't know what it was about this book, but I started it and just could not put it down. I read it in one sitting. Opened it up and dove right in. ONce I was sucked in, I was not going to stop until the end.

I loved the story of Parker and Tyson. I love love love how much he didn't want to like her, but couldn't help it. I was stunned at the turn of events with Dane. absolutely stunned. I have to admit, I wanted to hate Connor. I really really did. But I found that I couldn't.. I don't know what it was about him, even after what he did. I just couldn't hate him. Now, Tyson's dad. . I don't know what it was about that man, but him I couldn't bring myself to like. him, at all. Not after how he treated Tyson , especially not after how he treated Connor.

I really loved Tyson. I ended up feeling a little bad for him throughout the story. as his fight got closer, it was like every one else's drama was piled up on his shoulders and no one was thinking of what he needed to focus on.

At first, I didn't think i was going to like Parker. Poor poor Parker and her silver spoon life, living so lush in Las Vegas. Then as we get to know her more, her desire to proof her self worth, her insecurities, her will to get the movie made, her backbone, I ended up really liking her. Rooting for her. And when everything went down with Tyson, my heart kind of hurt a little. I really wanted him to open his eyes.

I loved the way Jennifer wrote this book. LIke i said, i opened it up and didn't put it down until the absolute end. There was no way I was going to stop reading without seeing those ending credits roll by. Great job with this Jennifer!

WOW!!! Wowowowowowowowowow

I LOVED IT!!!. I thought this book was even BETTER than the first one in this series (both are stand-alones, both are SMOKING HOT, and I will be reading both over and over).

I liked the whole "uptown girl meets downtown guy" undertone to the plot. The diversity of the worlds Parker and Tyson respectively lived in made for some interesting conflicts and added a unique emotional flavor to the book.

I also liked how Tyson was open and up-front with Parker that he didn't "do relationships," and when it turns out he had meant those words, I liked how Parker was real and reminded herself that she had gone into this thing with Tyson with eyes-wide-open and wasn't delusional about anything. It's that kind of realistic character trait that Jennifer imparts to her heroines and it makes her books very enjoyable to read!

And oh my gosh, the ending!!! I loved it! It was absolutely adorable...well, as adorable as a secy tattoo-covered no-nonsense MMA fighter can be :) I hope I get to find out more about Parker and Tyson in subsequent books! And I WILL be reading the subsequent books...every single one of them! I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!

It took me a while to get into the story because somehow Parker annoyed me, eh. Even so, when I did get my groove with this the story didn't manage to capture my complete attention, mainly because I was not invested in neither Parker nor Tyler. Not a big fan of the way some scenes cut into the next, and the ending seems rushed to me. Also not a big fan of how some issues are dealt with:

Dane and Connor piqued my interest in the last bits of the story. I saw that Dane's getting his own book, so maybe I'll pick that one up.

This book had me at "athlete hero" one of my favorite kinds of contemporary romance. Tyson is everything I like in a sports hero-- bold, sexy and rough around the edges. Readers won't "fight the fall" in the latest Beyond the Cage story! Jennifer Snow writes heroes with heart and her powerful, gritty MMA fighters will make readers remember why they read romance. This is a sexy tale that packs a strong, emotional punch.

Jennifer Snow and her Beyond the Cage series of MMA romances are new to me (and, admittedly, I have not read the first in the series), but I’m glad I picked up the second, FIGHTING THE FALL, anyway! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately where most everything I’ve picked up has been mediocre at best. I tend to favour romantic suspense (of all subgenres) over contemporaries because I like a heavy dose of action with my romance, but as an avid sportswoman, I do enjoy a good sports romance. I do martial arts and have trained with budding MMA fighters, so the recent popularity of MMA-focussed romances makes me happy.

FIGHTING THE FALL hit all the right buttons with the right combination of real, flawed but ultimately loveable characters, scorching sexual tension, and crisp writing… though, as per usual in the genre (particularly in contemporaries), all issues resolve too quickly and neatly to be realistic. Hero Tyson and heroine Parker both have issues we can relate to: he’s grown up in the shadow of his legendary, hardass MMA fighter father, groomed from birth as the heir apparent and expected to live up to the family legacy above all else; she grew up in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood under the care of her screen queen grandmother, and many years in the brutal film industry have resulted in her self-worth being tied to her appearance and to maintaining her smokin’ hotness. A string of box office failures at the hands of her vapid, Hollywood director ex leaves her career in the doldrums and her chance at a comeback depending on a role in a small, indie film (a female MMA fighter) she is ill-prepared for. One look at Parker and the scorching attraction he feels for her, and Tyson wants none of it—particularly as he trains for the biggest fight of his life, which will allow him to retain his light-heavyweight title and fulfill his father’s ambitions for him. I like a good ‘opposites attract’ romance, and Ms. Snow executes the trope well: Parker is the golden girl, forever-after foil to Tyson’s rough-and-tumble, wham-bam-thank-you-ma’am badass, and the two meld deliciously well to make each other realise they’re more than what their circumstances have seemingly made them out to be. There are several times during the novel that Tyson’s wankerdom made me want to whack him upside the head repeatedly, but in the end it only makes the inevitable fall that much sweeter. And the man can grovel like a champ: watching him finally accept what’s between him and Parker beyond the scorching sex? Be still, my heart. And speaking of sexytimes—those two set the page on fire every time they’re together.

Really enjoyed FIGHTING THE FALL, and looking forward to catching up on the first and subsequent books in the series.

Fighting the Fall is the second novel in the Beyond the Cage contemporary romance series from author Jennifer Snow and turns the spotlight on Tyson Reed, owner of Punisher Athletics, MMA champion, and trainer to Walker Adams and friend to Gracie Andrews from the first novel, Breaking Her Rules. Tyson was a supporting character that captured my attention from the time he first appeared and I'm glad that the second book in the series is about him. When he meets Parker Hamilton, neither of them exactly leave the best of impressions on one another, but then it could also be a matter of preconceived assumptions on both their parts. The fact that they don't get along and that they try to avoid each other creates more sparks between the two of them and once they do become close, they see one another in a whole new light.

While Breaking Her Rules was a pretty good read, this second in a series far surpassed whatever expectations were set by its predecessor. It felt as if everything was taken up a couple of notches and I found myself enjoying both the story and the characters much more this time around. Even the supporting characters and the side stories involving Tyson's older brother, Connor, and Parker's original trainer, Dane Hardy were just as interesting as the main story. The combined worlds of MMA and Hollywood made this book a great read and one that has certainly raised the bar higher for the third book, which is about Dane. I am curious, though, if Erik Johansen is going to get his story told and I hope it does because he's a guy that readers love to hate and needs a chance to redeem himself. Fighting the Fall gets 4.5 stars, rounded off to five stars. ♥

"Why is it that you're the last thing I need right now, but the only fucking thing I want?"

Who can say no to a sexy MMA fighter and celebrity romance? Definitely not me. Fighting The Fall easily got my attention with its cover -- Sexy. Then I read the description -- Count me in!

I liked the premise of this book and I loved Tyson and Parker. However, I found myself struggling to stay with the characters at times and how their problems were resolved felt rushed for my taste. I loved Tyson, though. He really was that tough fighter with a good heart type of man. Parker's sass and attitude added "flavor" to the story, I don't think I would enjoy Fighting The Fall this much without Parker's personality. The characters' chemistry is undeniable, I had no problems with how they interacted or their super steamy scenes, it's just that as I go along the story, I found myself disconnecting sometimes. But when it's good, it's good and Tyson and Parker together are adorably sexy.

Fighting the Fall is the second book of the Beyond the Cage series and Parker Hamilton and Tyson Reed's story.

Parker is a Hollywood actor who is given the chance to restart her career with an MMA role. All she needs is someone to train her. Tyson Reed is a gym owner and MMA fighter. With his upcoming title fight and his gym threatened because of his brothers debt, Tyson does not need the added distraction of Parker who has decided that Tyson is the man to train her.

Parker and Tyson are instantly attracted to each other. Having both been raised to put their careers above everything else, they both desperately fight their attraction and the feelings they are developing. I found myself unable to put my Kindle down because I was so drawn into their relationship! With such a fierce attraction, Parker and Tyson cannot resist temptation forever, but with so many obstacles standing in their way, can they ever have a future together?

Parker and Tyson had explosive chemistry from the start and the sexual tension was palpable. Fighting the Fall was an action packed, sensual, emotional and sexy read and I was hooked from start to finish. It is a great addition to the Beyond the Cage series, with hints of the next book as well as a brief catch up with Walker and Gracie from the first book. I will definitely continue with the series and I cannot wait for the next book.

‘What an asshole. Tyson Reed had to be one of the worst men she’d come in contact with . . . ever. He was arrogant, cocky, and rude.’

Fighter books are a guilty pleasure of mine so when I saw this second book on Netgalley I jumped on it. Tyson was the alpha mean man I expected and looked forward to. Parker is trying to get back to the Hollywood starlet status she once held but has lost since her break up with a famous director. After finally finding the role she thinks will get her there she has just weeks to train to look and act like a female MMA fighter. She turns to the one man she thinks can get her there, Tyson Reed. One problem, Tyson wants nothing to do with the starlet who just walked in his door despite his instant attraction to the sexy blonde.

s it that you’re the last thing I need right now, but the only fucking thing I want?”

I enjoyed all the individual elements of this story. I liked both the heroine and hero but together I just did not feel the connection. I was more wrapped up in the subplots around Conner and Dane than I was invested in Parker and Tyson. I seem to be in the minority here so maybe it is just a case of not the right book for the right reviewer. Still an enjoyable fast and easy read and I am actually really excited to read Dane’s book.

Review copy received via NetGalley.

Tyson is the stereotypical brooding fighter, focused on nothing but winning. Parker is a starlet that is no longer in the limelight. Parker needs Tyson (and his gym) to help her train for an MMA movie that could bring her career back on track.

There were some great moments. I especially liked the scenes with Tyson's brother, Conner. I did feel that the ending wrapped up way too quickly. It was too sudden for me. Overall, a good read and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.

Another great M M A story by Jennifer Snow. Both Parker (actress) and Tyson (M M A champion and coach) are fighting to get back to the top of their careers. But crazy ex-lovers, drug-addicted brothers and controlling family members keep getting in the way. Will personal ambition decimate their chance at true love?

Fighting the Fall is the second Beyond the Cage romance book, by Jennifer Snow. It tells the story of people from two different worlds who come together at an MMA gym called Punisher Athletics. Tyson Reed is the MMA fighter who owns the gym and Parker Hamilton is the actress who needs to learn MMA for an upcoming movie. The more time Tyson and Parker spend together, the harder it is for them to be apart. I enjoyed Tyson and Parker's story. I liked them as well as the secondary characters in the book. Snow did a good job of making her characters come to life and showing how their families influenced their decisions in life. She also included a few surprises along the way. Overall this book was an entertaining read.

When actress, Parker Hamilton, wants to audition for a roll as an MMA fighter, she looks to the gym of MMA belt holder, Tyson Reed, for help. Will he help her, or will she be the one helping him?

I really enjoyed reading Jennifer Snow's Fighting the Fall, the second book in the Beyond the Cage series! This book has all emotion in it...from love, to frustration, to heartache. There were twists and turns and emotional pulls throughout. This book deals with frustration of addiction, with family, with trust and with commitment.

Jennifer Snow is an amazing author, and this series definitely verifies that! I would highly recommend this book and I can't wait for book 3...Dane's story! <3

This story picks up a month or two after Book 1.

Tyson has seen an increase at his MMA gym after Walker's fight at the end of Book 1. He has a few stresses in his life and a fight to prepare for himself when actress Parker Hamilton walks in wanting to train as an MMA fighter for a movie role.

I did not get the feels for this romance, Tyson's inability to express his feelings and Parker was just not someone I could warm up to.

However the setup for Book 3 has peaked my interest, and it was available from my library for the Overdrive app as well so I will be finishing this series.

This is the second installment in the Beyond the Cage series and this was just as addicting as the first book. I fell in love with both characters especially Tyson. There was only one thing missing and that was one extra chapter or an epilogue. I wanted to know if Tyson, his father and his brother were going to be able to move forward and be a family. I still had so many questions and I really hope that Connor gets his own book and I get to know more about what caused him to spiral out of control.

Parker and Tyson were two characters that could have set fire to the sheets so early on. Sure Tyson was acting like an asshat but sooner she would be his downfall. He was so hard on her in the beginning but in the end that intense chemistry was more than what they could handle. But in the middle of them getting to know each other he had a big fight coming up and he needed to train. Only that Parker was getting under his skin but that was not the only problem. His drug addict brother is back and he is not able to tell him no when he tells Tyson he needs somewhere to sleep and people are after him for money. Connor says he wants to get clean and wants to go to drug rehab but only time will tell if that is true. Tyson is also going to have some explaining to do when his father finds Connor in their gym. Now as for Parker her family passed away when she was young and she lived with her grandmother. From the moment that she went to spend time with her grandmother she knew that she wanted to be an actress. But to be an actress there is a certain why that she needs to act, needs to look like and gaining weight is not good put for this new role she needs to gain muscle. Will she be able to get this new role? When it’s time for her to leave for her filming will things stay the same between Tyson and Parker? Will he finally get it through his thick skull that he is in love with Parker?

Fighting the Fall was one of those reads that will take you into the storyline from the very beginning of the story. I love it when things fade and the only thing that surrounds me is the characters. I loved the playful or should I say flirtatious dialogue. Now as for their chemistry can I say HOT, HOT and HOT. The story flows smoothly and what can I say about the storyline was perfect.

I can’t wait for the next book in this series.

This was a nice continuation of the Beyond the Cage series. We met up with characters we’ve met before but this time it is actress, Parker, and club owner, trainer and fighter, Tyson’s, story. They seem like an unlikely pairing but they each get under the others skin. Parker needs a place to train for an upcoming role in a film and Tyson wants no part of it since he knows his fighters and members will get distracted. Their chemistry continues to grow but each tries to put a stop to it at different times and each time it hurts the others feelings. The story takes place in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles as Parker tries to get back on top as an actress and Tyson tries to retain his title.

There are family and friends, family history, careers, fighters, drugs, anger, jealousy, tears, hurt, happiness, laughter, parties and lots of loving. The descriptions of the fights and training made me feel that I was there. Tyson’s brother, Connor, has problems that only he can work out no matter how much Tyson wants to help his older brother. There was some closure but the book ended too abruptly for me. There are enough loose ends to bring us to book three in the series, Pushing the Limits, and I hope I get the closure and happily ever after I’m looking for when I read it.

Snow is one of my favorite authors having previously read the Brookhollow series.

Favorite Quote: I hate leaving you, knowing I’ll miss you the moment I’m out the door.

Needing you and wanting you are two different things…I feel both and so much more.

I realize now that there is nothing else. Just this moment, just you, just me…just us.

I love a good MMA story, but this one presents with a twist. We have an actress heroine, Parker, training to be an MMA fighter for a role in a film. Parker finds her way into Punisher Athletics where she mets owner and MMA fighter, Tyson Reed. Parker doesn't back down from the punches thrown at her, figuratively and literally. Tyson doesn't know how to block hers and she takes him down. Hard. We're provided depth and emotional insight into Parker and Tyson's childhoods to help understand their current life decisions. We experience familial interactions and the opening of emotional doors as Parker and Tyson explore the "whys" of how their family functions. I enjoy the these moments immensely as they whys have always intrigued me. Parker and Tyson's story ended abruptly for me, but they were at a healthy, "real" place. I just wanted more of them.
