Fallen Star #2

Cry For You

Rate this book
There were a million girls who'd swap places with me in a heartbeat. They wept for him and mauled each other to get closer to Tex. The way they obsessed over him and put him on pedestal scared the hell out of me.

I'd fight every single one of them to keep him but I couldn't put this man in a box and have him all to myself. That period with just me and him, alone in the studio together had long gone. There was the price I had to pay for being with him. I knew that and it destroyed a part of me to pay it.

He'd promised to protect me, to keep me out of the limelight but I wasn't sure if that was even possible. There were girls backstage who watched my every move. They stalked me like jungle animals stalk their prey but instead of sharp teeth and claws, they had camera phones. They wanted Tex even if they had to destroy me to get to him.

Candy J. Starr used to be a band manager until she realised that the band she managed was so lacking in charisma that they actually sucked the charisma out of any room they played. “Screw you,” she said, leaving them to wallow in obscurity – totally forgetting that they owed her big bucks for video equipment hire.

Candy has filmed and interviewed some big names in the rock business, and a lot of small ones. She’s seen the dirty little secrets that go on in the back rooms of band venues. She’s seen the ugly side of rock and the very pretty one.

But, of course, everything she writes is fiction.

A Cry For You picks up right where Rock You left off. Tex has just played his first festival in nearly nine years and his position with Ruby has changed from a working one to more intimate. They are still living in such close quarters, spending large amounts of time just the two of them, that it was bound to happen. Ruby is questioning the situation though, she feels as though she is being paid for her sexual services. That they really need to sit down and discuss what the future holds for them as individuals and as a couple.

A new character is introduced in this book. Denise, an obsessive fan, who takes meeting Tex to the extreme. It seems that she will stop at nothing to meet him and make him hers. She finds jobs that allow her to be close to him, but also give her the necessary information to keep tabs on him. When she finds out about Ruby, all hell seems to break loose. Obsessive doesn't even begin to describe her.

Ruby is battling her own demons, of which we still do not know. There is hint of a breakdown in her past and knowing this helps to understand more about her and the way she is. She wants to find a way to be what Tex needs, but his career is making it hard for her to come out into the light. Even though you know there are demons in her past, Ruby tries to remain strong and in control, so that she can move forward with her life.

Tex is slowly coming to terms with his long hiatus from performing. Once he gets out on that stage he is transformed into another person. Someone who oozes confidence, sex appeal and success. He also realizes that Ruby means so much more to him than he thought and wants her there with him at all times.

We get to watch Tex and Ruby grow as a couple, but this story is filled with more suspense and hurt than the last one. What lengths will Tex go to, to keep Ruby in his life? Will they be able to come back from all the hurt, anger and heartache that is brought on by a crazed fan and will Ruby be able to learn how to deal with living with a rock star? Grab Cry For You and find out.

Cry For You is a continuation of Rock You from he Fallen Star Series. This book starts were the 1st book left off. Tex finds Ruby in his studio, where she said she would be. After Tex’s big comeback performance at the Festival, not only did he still want Ruby…he only thought of her. After coming home and staking a claim on Ruby, he promised her he would protect her from any danger that could come her way. But when a crazy fan started making herself known, without even realizing it. Her stalking and crazy ways of winning Tex, started to get in the way. How much can Tex really protect Ruby from a psycho stalker, that would do anything to ruin Ruby and pull them apart in any way necessary?

As Ruby and Tex grow closer and their sex life gets busier, the crazy fan was plotting her next move on how to split them apart.

 photo FS2-CryForU-Teaser.jpg

I enjoyed this book as much as the first, but this book takes a serious turn when the stalker decided to do everything she can to win Tex. Even though Tex bad side came out this book, I couldn’t stay mad at him too long. He was just too sweet and delicious to be mad at. We all have our flaws and Tex showed a big part of that in his book. No matter how angry he may have gotten, he still showed how much he cared for Ruby and will do anything to love and protect her.

An awesome follow up to book 2, I cannot wait to read the 3rd and final book of this series. Love it.#MustRead <3

Cry For You picks up right where we left off in Rock You and right from the start this was a book in which you could not put down. We get to know more of what Tex is thinking as we have alternating POV’s. Ruby is still struggling with wanting to be alone in which is was just Tex and her living alone in there small studio as Tex is working on putting his life back together. She knew that by staying with him there would be prices to pay and that it could destroy her.
Tex promised to protect her but being back in the limelight it was not a simple task as the stalkers wanted him and would do whatever it takes to have him even it destroys Ruby in the process.
I loved how we have the different POV’s in this book. There is still to know about what has happened to Ruby in her past that wants her to not be around other people. We also have more involvement with supporting characters which was great and would love for some of the other band members to have their own story, especially Devon.
There is so much emotion in this book you will want some tissues along with the anguish of yelling at them that they should be doing something different. Then the added suspense to the story made this a non-stop read. I am so looking forward the the next book in the series and will be reading it once it is released. I was able to read this book for Kylie’s Fiction Addiction.

The first book built too much anticipation but this one just failed to deliver. I must say that Cry For You is pretty anticlimactic.

We get POV of Tex and see how complex his feelings are due to what happened to his sister. Which is a nice insight into his character.

We also get POV of a crazy groupie who creates too much drama in MCs lives. I have to say that I hated these parts of the book. She was completely psycho (understandable) and filled of delusions that it boiled my blood.

I personally think this series should have been a duology instead of a trilogy. The second book could have been about Ruby and Tex working out their traumas and set backs as a couple.

Seems like the writer just created drama for the sake of creating drama.

In short, I just skimmed through it to get to the end.

P.S. If you have picked this book for smut and spicy scenes, put it down right now because you will find none in this.

Crying

I absolutely LOVED everything about this book EXCEPT it ended in a cliffhanger. As I got the first one free it saddens me that I will have to purchase @ least 1-2 more in order to get the full story. There are 5 total in the series so odds are to fully appreciate the authors storyline & intent I will have to purchase the remaining books. While I’m not @ all opposed in series books, I am opposed however to not being aware upfront.

I actually couldn’t put this book down once I started it so if U enjoy purchasing series novels then this is definitely a win.

This series just gets better with each book. Cry for You starts right where Rock You ends. Tex is back on the rise after coming out of hiding, and Ruby is trying to deal with how her life and being with Tex. Trouble is lurking in a stalker, crazy, person who wants Tex all to herself and Ruby out of the way. Will Tex and Ruby survive through all of the turmoil, anxiety, stalker, and the outside world? I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I recommend this book and series.

The story was a big change from the first book where u had to introverts sharing a home and u find out one is famous. This book is him coming out of his shell and being who he is to having a stalker. It was a bit much, spotlight came q bit quickly it was like we had different characters so I’m not sure how I feel about this book. It was different DONT expect anything like that first one but q good read none the leas

This time the point of view is in both Tex and Ruby. The struggle they both go through is written realistically and the point of view switch and character growth is done seamlessly. We also get the point of view of an obsessed fan. We get insight to full blown crazy and its crazy scary. Unfortunately we get another cliffhanger and I hope to learn more in the book.

I had read the first book so long ago and had forgotten everything. So reading this made the characters seem pathetic without knowing the back story. Then after I read this I realized I had liked book one but hadn't put the two together. Authors really need to put better bridges from the past into their serial books or just write one book complete.

I didn't care for this one as much as the first. I think I enjoyed that the first book was just from the main character's perspective. This one was from multiple perspectives, including the crazy chick's, who's mind I definitely didn't want to be in! lol It was a decent continuation of the story and I will read the 3rd to finish the storyline.

Crazies

Oh the crazies. They can be anywhere. They can be anybody. Candy did a great job making you feel what the characters were feeling. Glad Denise is gone hope she stays away. Now we just need Ruby Red to toughen up.

4.5 Bat Shit Crazy Stars!

Source: eARC for Honest Review Courtesy from Author

OMG This book had me anguish the whole way through.

We were left off with the choice in Tex's hands, even though he didn't know there was a choice to be made, until Ruby wasn't where he left her.  He knows she's not big fan of crowds but she's also the one who pushed him back in the spotlight.

As I was reading this we end up with a different POV and I got super confused thinking did I miss something but nope.  As all of a sudden there was another person POV and it was perfect.  All of a sudden we meet Denise who is crazy as a cracker jack.  I felt Candy captured the delusion perfectly and it kept me intrigued throughout the book especially realizing how deep down crazy this character was.

Ruby and Tex already have a fragile relationship when they are out of their bubble.  Now that the world knows about Ruby she starts to freak and not cope well.

"You can't make things go away by burying them.  Not literally, not figuratively. ..."

Ruby and Tex are so good for each other but they SUCK at communicating.  Ruby has a past which we start to get bits and pieces of why she is the way she is.   Ruby knows that there is a potentially bad situation but she's afraid to talk about it with Tex, because then they would have to talk about what is going on with their relationship.   Plus every time she eludes to trouble Tex down plays the seriousness of what is going on.

Tex is worried.  So worried that he's trying to protect Ruby.  But the more he protects her, the more he pushes her away.   These two are in the midst of a shit storm with not many ways out of it.

"I'd said nothing and the evil happened anyway.  Maybe it was better to be bold than to hide in fear. ..."

Ruby's a bit of a coward and inept when it comes to communication with her feelings.  Where Tex tried to do the right thing but went about it the wrong way which caused it to blow up in his face.  Maybe they will learn that communicating could have possibility eliminated these issues they had to deal with.

Just as we think they may have found their HEA you know there is so much brewing under the surface for these two.  Which makes us wonder how they are going to make out in the real world.   This book left my heart pounding and now I'm super anguish waiting for book three to find out what happens to these two.  June 22/15 can not come fast enough.  Pre-Order Be With You Here.

I wish we had half stars... really do.
I don't think that this deserves 3 stars but I also don't want to give it 4.
Because of how short these books are this just seems realllly rushed to me.
This books picks up right where book 1 leaves off and we see how Tex and Ruby are going to adjust to their lives now.
I still like this story so I will be continuing on. :)

Cry for You starts right where Rock You ends. Tex is back on the rise after coming out of hiding, and Ruby is trying to deal with how her life is changing by deciding to be with Tex.

In Cry For You we get to meet a new character, and to say I hated her would be an understatement. Denise enters the picture, and she's sort of crazy, well she's full on crazy, but that's not a secret, as soon as you get her POV you'll see what I'm talking about. This girl scared the crap out of me with her plans and what she wanted to do. I was upset for Ruby for what she had to deal with. She figured Denise out, but Tex acted like he didn't believe her. Since this book is told in the points of view of Ruby, Tex, and Denise, you see he knows this girl is a problem, but doesn't want Ruby to know (typical man). By keeping her out of the loop he made her more vulnerable to Denise's attack.s

I did like how Ruby stood up to Tex and started to come out of her shell a bit in this book. She did things, not necessarily for herself, but what she thought she needed to do to keep Tex. One thing she worries about in this book a lot is where their relationship goes next, I wish she would have talked to him about her fears and what was on her mind instead of keeping it all inside. She's conflicted, and I understand that, but a healthy relationship isn't built on hiding things from the person you care about.

I really did enjoy how this story played out. Towards the end I was on pins and needles, and then I was feeling better about how things were going to go, and was then hit with the last few sentences in this book. I am really nervous for how things are going to go for Tex and Ruby now, I want them to be happy, because I adore them together. I think they do bring out the best in one another, and seeing how much Tex loves Ruby makes me want them to get their HEA more than anything. I will be diving in to book 3 now to see how things end up for these two amazing characters.

*NOTE:* Cry For You is not a stand alone, to understand this story completely, you need to read Rock You first.

☆☆☆☆4-CRYING STARS☆☆☆☆
*Copy provided by the author in exchanged for an honest review*

This is the second installment to the Fallen Star. It picks up where it left ROCK YOU left off.

Tex has finally came out of his shell. Hiding from his passed for almost nine years has changed when Ruby came to his life. He now has once again have fans mauling him and lusting over him. CRY FOR YOU, introduce a new character.

With Ruby and Tex becoming a couple, she struggles with the fact that he might be enjoying the limelight after all these years and be neglected. Being alone in the studio with Tex is not the case any longer. She enjoys it too much that all she wants to do is to keep Tex to herself. Pushing him to change and to leave his past behind was one the things she wanted to help him with.

 photo CRY-FOR-YOU_zps2wisofd0.jpg

Tex has now grasp his old life back but still has demons to fight. He promised to be Ruby's protector but he's not sure if having fans mauling him will help prevent Ruby from her own demons. Together they find healing in each other. Or so they thought.

Will Ruby and Tex survive the now crazy life that he thought he never wanted back, until she came into his life? Will Tex be able to protect her from his crazy fans who is out for her blood because they want him for themselves? Will Ruby be strong enough to support him with his decisions? Betrayal

This is what you get when you buy the second in a series when the first ends in a cliffhanger. The summary of the book totally misled me. To make matters worse, this ends on a cliffhanger as well. I WILL NOT buy it. I'm really mad. Most of the reviews say it was an "ARC for an honest review" and most of them start off with the same wording. That should have tipped me off right there. The book literally picked up where it left off so you really need to read the first book before reading this one. But we never get to why the main character is so shut off. We don't get into her character development at all. Maybe it's all revealed in book 3. I won't know. We get this whole new character and her background seems more developed than the main person. I wish I could get my day back from reading this. I'm just really angry at this point.

Wow!! What a story, I loved it, I couldn't put it down.
The tale follows on from Rock You, and Tex is performing before a huge audience at last with his band. Ruby his house keeper and now love interest, is watching and very much present again in this book and also a new character named Denise is added, and how will she mix things up a little for the happy couple?

Right from the beginning of this book the intense story line had me hooked, there's intrigue and lots of suspense this time round that my heart pounding on numerous occasions and I'm not ashamed to admit I also wet tears of joy.
This was an awesome story with amazing writing.
I'm excited to find out what happens next for these two, I have to see where this all leads too. 5/5

Again, like the first book, this one surprised me. Didn't expect this at all.
At first i thought bringing in third person will be silly but 1/3 into the book I really started to like this idea.
Denise - what a crazy girl. Makes you think that there are actually people like her out there who are obsessed with famous people.
Tex and Ruby - a bit a childish and annoying but in general ok. Good read.

A brilliant follow up to the first book. Different from the usual rockstar romance books there is the fact that Tex has been out of the limelight for a time facing some serious changes, a house keeper that doesn't like to mix and a fan with some problems. The drama makes for a real page turner of a book. I loved the story, I couldn't put the book down.

Watching all the panic and pain Tex and Ruby have gone through to be together just makes their relationship mean more to them. Until Tex has a female fan who stalks him and kidnaps Ruby, just so she can have Tex. Ruby is tortured when she did nothing wrong at anyone, minus loving Tex.
