Can we say chock-full of stereotype fail?
There's a reason I seldom (if ever) have the desire to read a WW/BM book. THIS racist, fetish-y crap is exactly why. The title fail alone pretty much indicates that there's no real story or characterization, just another exploitative read that reduces IR relationships to just sex.
I read the sample (minutes of my life I will never get back and frankly the author should be paying me for my time, sanity and raised blood pressure) and it read like they grabbed a copy of some thug lit book and did a cut and paste job. It even had the White heroine (who's supposed to be so "innocent") using the "n-word" like she was freaking Lil' Kim or something.
If Tamara Black truly does exist, she and I need to have a VERY long talk about why the work she is putting out is doing a huge disservice to the IR genre. It is struggling for respect and books like this just make that struggle even harder.
I found this novella to be quite disappointing. The story felt underdeveloped, leaving me with a sense of incompleteness and dissatisfaction. While I understand it’s a novella, there were several storylines that began but never concluded, and others that wrapped up abruptly after several years. Although the plot had potential, the lack of detailed development and subpar character growth undermined the overall experience.
Easy read but super cringey lol idk maybe I’m not a BMWW girly. Or it may have been the white woman saying the n word within the first few pages lol but it was just 🤢.
