A tremendous read

Nash has written an amazing book, which helps you find your way through the very rocky, uncertainty of getting older and finding a reason to keep going. It is easy to follow, with incredible step by step instructions. She gives hope for the many transitions we all go through in getting older.

“The important thing to remember is that your story needs revising and updating as you approach each new stage in your life. If you don’t revise it you can lose your way. You can become frustrated, lacking in inspiration and with no interest in your goals. Major changes can suddenly sweep away your roles, and with them your sense of identity.” ~ Spot On!

The author is very adventurous which I am not, so I didn't really relate to her. I found it repetitive and a bit too focused on how wonderful the author's life is. I enjoyed reading about Archetypes, which is a new concept to me. I think I would rather enjoy the time I have left than focus on myself and reinventing my life.

The author thinks hobbies are inane. I'm convinced she's basically trying to teach you how to retire from a work-a-holics' point of view.

Basically just a book about how amazing her life is and was.how you can move to a cheaper country with less rules and it will give you an amazing retirement (but at what cost to the local people and economy is not mentioned). And how if you work hard enough your retirement can be great too. Outrageous lie. I initially thought the archetype would be interesting- nope nothing redemptive in the middle couldn't have read elsewhere.

SMART goals are a joke for retirement I don't understand why she thinks they are helpful here. She basically praises Trump (and other harmful people) which is insane that she seems to think he's a great businessman who slayed his internal saboteur and not just the narcissist he is.

I don't think its wise to teach tapping techniques from a book as without a therapist they can trigger you.

this was just the book I needed to read. I’ve been in semi retirement for almost 2 years... I feel like I’ve lost much of my inspitation...a sense of being alone and having some physical disabilities...She talks a lot about the archetypes and how to make them work for you. she also explains the difference between goal setting and manifesting...It was a good book and I’m going to look into reading some of her other titles...

Great solid thoughts and guidelines !

With so much going on in our lives and the old Hippie stage I’m in , I had forgotten how to take care of me. I really needed the refresher course on how life is supposed to work, and I had forgotten the important parts of being a Hippie! Thanks

Claptrap revealed as useful!

What starts out as an excuse for psycho babble soon turns interesting and if you invest into the process, useful. I wound up seeing the value in many of the exercises and chapters of the book, really a coaching guide for anyone in transition, but mostly for aging hippies, or would have been hippies if they hadn’t confirmed.

I borrowed this book through Amazon's "free with Prime" offer.
I would put this self-help book in the sub-category of "how I helped myself and it will probably work for you too."
I would recommend it for those readers who previously used the work Caroline Myss did with archetypes.

Encouraging!

Gives good advice and ideas on how to make getting older not feel like the end of change. Don't have to be bored with retirement and you can still make an impact in your life.

Needs chapter titles

Nonfiction readers like to know where the book is going. Can't really do that when the chapters are called chapter number one, chapter number two, chapter number three …

Adding chapter titles would really help.
