Jessica Florence is a new author for me but between the cover and the blurb I was very excited to read this.

Andi Slaton is on a bachelorette night when she first sets eyes on sexy Ryder, and it seems it is lust at first sight for the FBI agent who is determined to use his skills to find out who she is and where he can find her.

When Ryder surprises cake shop owner Andi with a visit, she decides that she wont be playing hard to get and they embark on a passionate and steamy affair.

It becomes apparent early on that Andi is the link that Ryder needs in order to take down the very man he has been working to take down for a long time, and although Andi will do anything to help catch the bad guy, Ryder is finding it hard to watch his new girlfriend get involved with his world that is often dark.

"I'm gonna fuck you in your kitchen.
I'm gonna make you come so much that you will feel me touching you even when I'm not there.
And when you are out with that asshat, you're gonna know you're mine."

_ _ _ _

I don't like to compare authors, but this was very reminiscent of an Aurora Rose Reynolds novel.

Alpha male, check
Sweet but feisty heroine, check
Extremely hot sex, check
Quick to fall in love, check
Just the right amount of drama, check

If it were not for the instalove I probably would have loved it more, I personally prefer a bit of a slow burner but the chemistry and sex scenes were very well written and probably my favourite parts of the book. I am clueless to how FBI operations run, but I think you may need to suspend a bit of belief here and take this book for what it is, a fun and steamy read.

I look forward to seeing how the author progresses in future books.

This is a standalone, written in dual POV.

ARC gratefully received from the author in exchange for an honest review

The life of an undercover agent, long stakeouts, dark nights, wild bars and being kissed by one hot and sexy young woman who tastes like cotton candy. Okay, that last part only happened once, but for Ryder, once was all it took and he was hooked on the mysterious woman with the sweet lips.

Andi couldn’t believe she kissed that handsome stranger; maybe it was the phase of the moon? Maybe it was a chance to be a little crazy or maybe he was just hot. It’s done, it’s over, but her lips still feel his kiss. Who knew that one kiss would be the start of a life a lot more exciting than baking cookies or muffins? How did Ryder find her at her bakery?

Jessica Florence has turned the heat up to broil in Evergreen, a super-hot romantic adventure where one naïve baker gets to play super spy to infiltrate a drug ring. Yep, suspend your sense of reality for that one, but after you meet Andi, you’ll understand it a little better. Let’s say going undercover for the FBI isn’t nearly as hot as going under the covers with an FBI agent.

With a little gunfire, a little humor, a lot of sweet romance and a sense of adventure, Jessica Florence has taken passion to a new level. Andi is a little feisty, has watched too many movies and will do anything to help the ma she loves, even date his arch enemy. And Ryder? He could be the poster child for FBI recruiting! Warm, gentle, tough, daring and patient as a saint, he is alpha enough to stand tough, but melts like chocolate around the woman he loves. A quick read, with heat and a little over-the-top adventure, this is pure fun reading.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I seriously loved every stinking minute of this book!! Both characters were awesome and sweet. It's big time insta-love, it was sexy as hell. The plot flowed nicely, I even shed a tear or two! I am hoping we will get a book with Dallas and Rex (or maybe there is already one??)

Wow, after reading this authors THE FINAL KO and loving it, and now this one, this author is definitely going on my "read everything she writes" list!

***3.5 Stars***

Ryder is an FBI agent working on a case to take down a big drug dealer. He bumps into Andi, a bakery store owner, on the street. She’s on her way to a bachelorette party and the sparks fly immediately.

This is definitely insta-love/lust. The two get together very quickly. I, personally, love that. Ryder is a wonderful hero. He is possessive and dominate. I loved him. He treated Andi wonderfully. And, he was so sweet with her dogs. You’ve got to love a man who will go out of his way to help take care of and spoil dogs, especially special-needs ones.

My biggest issue with this book is the whole FBI/drug dealer plot line. It was absolutely and totally unrealistic. There were so many things that aren’t even in the realm of possibility that it was actually funny. And, while I read because it’s not reality and I don't want a heavy dose of reality, there does need to be at least a little realism. This was just way over the top.

To see a few, click spoiler, but be warned that it does contain spoilers

These are just a few things that stood out to me. There are plenty more through the whole book. It was distracting to me to some degree so it did lower my enjoyment a bit because I'm too busy thinking how ridiculous it is.

I would give 5 stars to Ryder for being a perfect hero. Andi would get 3.5 because she does have a few moments I’m wondering if she is TSTL but she loves Ryder with all her heart and wants to help. But the plot line would get a 2 because it was just way OTT unrealistic.

There was just SO much wrong about this book & I'm okay with being the minority on this one.

The H, an "undercover" FBI agent meets the h, a cake shop owner, one night while he was on the job.

He basically stalks her because he needs to see her again the next day.
She's okay with that because, "he's so hot" and what-not.

They are instantaneously smitten with one another and go wild.

He tells her he's an FBI agent (I mean, are they even allowed to tell people these things, ESPECIALLY if they are undercover???) and she's all "omg, that's so hot".

The h met a guy at her best friend's wedding who keeps popping in to visit her. The H lets her know it's the drug lord he's after. The h finds this funny (like cute funny).

Then she runs and tells her best friend/employee that the H is after the guy and the guy is a drug lord and they both find this hysterical.

I stopped right there.

So much immaturity. If the h giggled one more time, I was going to shove a cookie down her throat.

And the flow of the book just wasn't right. I found myself having to keep going back to re-read a paragraph because I just got lost.

While this may have been a top-of-the-list for others, I'll just stay right here on the bottom - content.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Some would not consider it safe because she had to pretend to be the "girl" of another man while being undercover. normally that would really bother me, but in this story, I was ok. I really loved how Ryder fell for Andi hard and was willing to do anything to keep her safe. They made a great couple. The seconday characters were good. Dallas and Rex were funny and it was hinted that something was going on between them.

Evergreen was really funny to read. When I wasn't laughing I was having to fan because of the steam. Ryder and Andi know how to drive each other, and in turn the reader, completely insane with lust. They spark off each other more than kindling to flames. It has some great suspense and mystery. The characters are the special treat. They make the book come alive. This book needs a few warning labels though! One for these super hot sexy scenes and another for making me hungry for sweets!

Ryder gets a taste of cotton candy and needs more while he is on the hunt for bad guys for the FBI. Andi who called herself Candy Tease while out on the town for a bachelorette party is not use to accosting strangers let alone molesting them was in shock by her behavior. When Ryder hunts her down inside after their lip-lock out front her shock doesn't stop her from issuing a challenge, which he accepted.

Finding Andi was a cinch, but finding her with one of the bad guys really puts a kink in his lustful thoughts, but didn't stop him. His world became hell when she was offered to help bring down the bad guys and for Ryder Andi accepted.

I absolutely loved this book. It was fun, fast, funny and hot! It leaves room for a second book with the way Ryder's partner Rex and Andi's employee Dallas acted together. I want to read more! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys hot romance with some suspense in the mix.

Jessica Florence did it again!! She has such unique stories that I love reading her work because each book is completely different.

Evergreen captured my attention from the start and held it throughout the book. I loved the story of how the main characters met and how their romance blossomed.

There was a lot of heart pounding action in this book as well! I found myself unable to put the book down, as I needed to read through to see what was going to happen. I could feel myself on edge of my seat a couple of times as the main character was going undercover to bring down a drug dealer. There were also times where I would realize I had a big smile on my face and other times I felt my eyes welling up.

I don’t want to give anything away but I have to mention that the ending blew me away. It definitely was not what I was expecting would happen. That is all I am going to say so no hints give anything away. But WOW!

Jessica has a few books out and all are great! This is one author you definitely want to follow!

This was a gripping, fun read! Ryder and Andi are such a perfect, strong couple. The sex was hot and was the perfect amount, it was just enough to not find itself in the gratuitous sex category. (Random: I want her shower!) Ryder's macho yet sweet personality drew me in and got me good. He's all sorts of amazing, and I can't help but want a green-eyed heart stopper just like him in my life. Andi is the perfect blend of sugar and spice and just the right amount of each to fit with Ryder like a custom made oven mitt to a baker. (Cheesy I know, but if you read this you'll totally get it.)

Amidst the perfect-ness of their romance is an edge of your seat story that pits them against a Miami crime boss, leaving you itching for the next page while holding your breath, hoping for the best right along side them.

Their friends Dallas and Rex were great supporting characters and I really hope we get their book next, as there is enough mystery to them to hook me and make me want more of their story too.

Jessica Florence is a new to me author, and I will admit to being more than a little wary of reading new to me authors, but I had seen several teasers on Facebook and I have to admit I was definitely interested.

Florence has written a book that flows effortlessly, one that allows the reader to simply lose themselves amongst the pages and lose myself I did, I sat up reading in bed to the point that despite feeling tired I just couldn't bring myself to put the book down and so, I fell asleep whilst reading. And when I woke I was keen to get right back into it. The sex scenes were well written and honestly you could feel the heat from Andi and Ryder coming off the pages. Even from their very first meeting.

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because I felt there wasn't enough in the way of story building. I loved all the bits with Ryder and Andi, but felt it could have done with a little more out of the bedroom action.

Wow! This story just took right off from the start. Great romance with some hot sex and a great story line to tie it all up in a sweet little package.
Andi, a sugar loving desserts making shop owner meets FBI agent Ryder and sparks fly. Ryder is working a big case and it looks like Andi has what it takes to give him a hand. She decides to help Ryder close down this case if she doesn't drive him crazy first (in and out of the bedroom)! Off the charts sex and melt your heart moments is what they have but what happens when she has to get up close and personal to a criminal for the FBI. Do they both come through unscathed and will they have a chance at a normal relationship? Well get reading and find out. Be ready for an emotional ending.

I liked the story but was a bit disappointed how quickly the sex appeared, while well written I would have liked the story to evolve a bit more. The H seemed to use the F bomb a lot and while I don't usually notice I did in this one which got a bit annoying, not enough to stop but I occasionally thought that it wasn't necessary.
The h had a couple of forehead smacking moments when trying to 'help' the FBI, really, I mean someone of the street can just go do a break and enter but because that was 'helping' it was ok?
The ending twist was good so I wont spoil that. Overall an ok read but nothing spectacular.

Evergreen by Jessica Florence is a good romance novel with some added suspense. Jessica adds a dramatic flare in the love life of Andi and Ryder, and the troubles they face to be together.

When Ryder lays eyes on Andi he is stunned and doesn't know what to think. He is on the job but knows he just needs to have this woman. Andi who is dressed with her friends for the bachelorette party instantly kisses Ryder leaving him speechless. But not before she lets him know if it's meant to be they will bump into each other again. Ryder knows what he has to do and uses is job to help him track down that one woman he knows will own his heart. Only when he finds her he realizes the guy he is investigating also wants her too. Andi is very interested in Ryder but when Garrett wants to have her as his girl she starts to worry. When the FBI figures out just how Andi can help them they decide to use her to get to their target. Only Ryder is not happy about his woman being alone with a criminal. But through it all they do whatever they can to make sure their love is strong enough to pull through this. They are each others Evergreen, their love will never die. But could this one case cause a death?

Well this was unexpected! I went in reading this book having never read any of Jessica Florence’s previous novels. I was quite impressed with the ease of her writing. It was a pleasure to read. I really enjoy novels that are well written and allow me to cruise through it without getting overcomplicated, or over explaining things. The relationship between Ryder and Andi is a bit cute, if not marred with some tensions and distractions. There is a significant arc to the story that may have had me a little….frustrated However, I think it’s a sign of a solid author, when just a few words can cause the reader to have to pause and think some strong words that can’t be repeated! If it had been a physical book, instead of an e-book I probably would have closed the book for a bit before continuing on! It was an action packed, kismet style, sexy at times, quick read. I highly recommend this one, (Non-spoiler alert, of course!) especially if you’re a fan of Ed Sheeran, which I certainly am!!!!

Oh yeah I know if I was with Ryder, I would definitely be able to still feel him!!!!!! I have read this book a couple of times and I absolutely love it, it is awesome and my kind of read. I loved Andi as well, sometimes the heroine in stories annoy me but Andi was sweet, kind, brave, loyal and so very loving with a beautiful heart.

Both Ryder and Andi were tested again and again, and the trust they needed to have with each other was unreal, but they had it, and sometimes that can be rare. My heart hurt a few times for them both, and reading the bonus scene at the end from Ryder's POV was awesome.

So what do you get when you read Evergreen, well you get a read that will stay with you permanently, (see what I did there, pun intended), but apart from that we get Ryder and Andi falling in love, some, no scratch that a lot of HOT sex and dirty talk, Alpha hero, light on the angst, and an all round awesome story. Yes I would definitely recommend this story to my friends. Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn.

I just finished and the sum of this review is "f@#c what a great read"
Yep that's what's bouncing in my head while I'm still on this book buzz. Where to start???? Ryder,, Oh yummy, dreamy, sexy Ryder. Badass FBI agent trying to bust a drug ring. Andi, how can you not love Andi? She's a strong, sugar loving woman who wants to help. The chemistry between the two is electric and jumps off the page at you.
This book is a real page turner with bad guys and good guys and more twist & turns than you can shake a stick at. The pace is amazing, keeping you on your toes. The characters are extremely likable/hatable (i think i made that word up). Gavin and his goons are slimy and dirty and make you want to take a shower after you read about them. Then you have Rex and Dallas are solid good guys that add to the value of the book and need their own story.
This is my first Jessica Florence book and i can't wait to devour what else she has!

FBI agent Ryder is attracted to Andi when he first sees her. She is with her friends at a bar for a bachelorette party. Ryder starts calling her "Cupcake" when he finds she has a sweet shop that makes cakes and candy. They have a steamy relationship from the start. Then Ryder finds that Andi knows a man he has has under surveillance for three years. Even though she is scared she agrees to help bring this drug & gun runner down. It is hard to hear the undercover work. Just when I was beginning to think it was unreal there was a change in the action. I couldn't stop reading. The last two chapters and the epilogue are worth the wait! You will find out why it is called Evergreen.
