Nikki S. Projects, is part street photography, part performance art. In a series of extraordinary transformations, this young, Korean-born conceptual artist unfolds a multiplicity of lives and identities documented through the lens of her point-and-shoot camera as she ibecomesi a young punk in the East Village, a Connecticut-based exotic dancer, or a senior citizen picking through thrift stores in Murray Hill.
This book is currently selling on ebay for 260 dollars but you can find it from a Germany publisher for 65 dollars. It is one of the most enjoyable photography books I've ever read. Nikki Lee is a photographer/performance artist who uses disguises and personaes to enter the world of yuppies, japanese punks, chinese school girls, the elderly (one person who wittnessed her tottering around thought she had lost her memory when she said she was in her twenties...)and a few other social groups. Read about her ideas and goals for these metamorphoses
One artists intriguing projects to fit in anywhere, with anyone: as a stripper, a schoolgirl, a retiree, it is amazing to see how she transforms herself completely
