What do you call that thing where you get the copy of a book early and get a chance to read it to give your honest feedback? Well, yeah, I did that and woot-woot to the author for actually listening to her readers because this book is pretty bad ass.

I've said it once and I'll say it again that MC romances can really come off a dime-a-dozen and I was a bit leery, especially since I said that I would give my honest feedback. Seriously, I need someone to buy me the ability to lie. Anysnooch, I genuinely dug this book. I was very pleased that the lead is no pushover. She is strong without being some faux bad ass, nor is her life romanticized. I really, really appreciated that the author goes into the not so cool parts of growing up the kid of gang members. I see too many authors making it look like it's all good when it really isn't.

As the story goes on, I was relieved that the characters weren't one dimensional like I find in so many books. The character complexity is fantastic, and I found that everyone's reasons/choices made sense, and even better, they were a likable couple. Even the ultimate dramatic moment was very realistic while being a bit gut-wrenching. So, I guess you can see why I gave this book 5 stars. For the genre, it really was good and I plan to read the follow up books to this new series.

**Spun generously provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**

2 Stars.

I was intrigued by Spun when I saw it on Netgalley and decided to request it. Unfortunately, it didn't totally work out for me. The plot, while I thought it quite interesting for the MC world, didn't really arc for me at all. It was a little flat in terms of conflict and angst without providing much else to make up for it. The characters of Wizard of Nevada were two which I felt I could really enjoy and there were a several occasions where their banter or dialogue had me loving them. But somehow it never peaked for me and during the inevitable conflict I lost my faith in Nevada's strength. I felt no real connection to either of these characters nor in their relationship. It felt too forced. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have read this book but I will not be continuing the series.

So this book was a solid four stars for me for most of the book, but unfortunately whenever the H lost his memory, the book lost me (cheesy I know lol).

I hate books where one of the mc's lose their memory and never fully gain it back. It annoys me so much and sadly that's what happened in this book. It makes me feel like he'll never truly love her like he did before, if he even did....
When the H told the h he loved her after he lost his memory, I feel like it wasn't true. He never said it before and they were together for months, so how can he know he loves so soon after he lost his memory. He also called her a child when he woke up, so how can he love her if he feels like she is a child??? And why did it have to be written that he wanted to be with another girl during his memory loss time.

Rant over, I just really wish this book hadn't taken this turn because I was really enjoying it :(

Loved this quick MC read! Dominant male and his sweet much younger old lady. Tragedy threatens to tear them apart but they are brought back together and although it would have been nice to see them rebuild their lives I still loved the story!!!

DNF @ 33%

Well I am on a Roll ... second DNF today. I do my best trying to get into these lighter fluffier MC Books but sometimes I just can't. Today is one of those days.

Wizard an Enforcer for the Kings of Chaos MC ends up claiming Nevada "Nevy" a daughter of Club brother Hulk when she is attacked and almost raped by another Club brother. By claiming her he is able to keep her safe and ensure no one else will dare to touch her. And that is where this story hits a low. After the previously mentioned scene nothing really happens. They don't have any romantic involvement which is crazy as he is an old school biker and the idea that he would take on an Old Lady, buy her everything she needs, have her live in his home, cook, clean and care for her yet never even try and kiss her? LMFAO.... Okay. Dream land I would like a pass for one for the day.

Wizard is made to sound wayyyyy to much like an emotional female. During his POV's he keeps beating himself up for looking at Nevy as anything other then the kid the Club helped raise even though she is 21 and his Old Lady. By 33% I think I may be getting blue balls.

We don't get to pick the family we are born into. With that said Nevada didn't have a fighting chance. Nevada was the product of a one night stand between two idiots. A mother who didn't care and left her and her dad for another man. And a father that didn't know what to do with his daughter. So he left her to. Now add to the equation these people belong to a MC Club. This is not the best environment to bring up a child. But that was the hand that Nevada was dealt. Luckily the members looked-out for her as she was growing up. And kept her out of trouble. Unfortunately it does not make up for not having a mother and a father around to love you. One of the members that took care of her was Gage AKA Wizard. Now there is at least a 10 year age difference between these two. Wizard just didn't see her in a sexual way but of course he's not blind and he is a man. Nevada needed protecting and the only person that stepped up to do this was wizard. This meant that she had to become his old lady/ wife. For little while but cause some tension between the two because of their previous roles( he being more of a father figure that her own father was to her). But they worked it out rather nicely. Then a motorcycle accident nearly wiped out his memory of her and their time together. Memory is a bad thing to lose. I enjoyed reading this story looking forward to more SHYLA COLT'S stories.

This book put me through complete hell. I normally don't like to ugly cry, but I did with this one. Like totally broke down and cussed Shyla and messaged her threatening I would be her worst nightmare if she didn't fix it all. And she did. She fixed it all in the most fantastic way.
This is one of those stories that it's hard to write a review because I really don't want to give anything away. The plot twists and turns and you never know what to expect next. But you WILL cry, just know that up front. Then you'll be glad you didn't throw your e-reader across the room because it all comes together in the end.
Nevada grew up in the MC life with a father who didn't have much to do with her. She was raised by the men of the club for the most part. One of those men is Wizard. Never's always had a crush on him, but he's always seen her as a little girl that he loved and helped raise and protect, but the truth is she isn't a little girl anymore. When her safety is threatened Wizard is the first to step up and claim her as his own in order to protect her and take care of her. It's a mutually beneficial relationship, but as time goes on he notices her for the woman she now is.
Don't go thinking it's always rainbows and unicorns after that because it definitely isn't. Tragedy strikes and rips away everything they had together. Just rips it away like it never existed. Be prepared, but it's so worth the ride!

Nevada 21, grew up in the MC life.. her father a patched member and her mother well whatever she is.. however she never really had parents always left to raiser herself or handed of to someone in the MC, moved from MC family to family...

Now, she is abandoned again and finds herself in a sticky situation when the person that she is staying with tries to take advantage of her and practically rape her.. Then comes in Uncle Wizard who is older than her dad; practically raiser her, helps her, claims her as an old lady... they fall for one another, again even though he raised her.. then an accident happens and Wizard loses his memory and doesn't remember a moment spent with Nevada, he only remembers her as the little girl he raised.. poor Nevada..

I’m so glad I read this book. It started a little dark internally and I thought I’d put it down because I’m not into MC books where they disrespect women by beating on them and being cheats. After a bit I came to realize the inner darkness and perception was caused by her parents and their neglect leaving her living a life on a tightrope keeping a fake smile on her face so she’d have a place. Ultimately, I only question that Fuse felt he had the right to accost her. Typically that comes from a group think space. Whenever I hear or read that any unclaimed female is “free game” it bugs me. Free to be open to advances is one thing, saying no and being forced is another. That over the line forcing is what makes me worried for the future of the club. I hope they weed out that mentality from the club in future installments.

Nev grew up as the daughter of a MC member and her life was not great. Shyla Colt shows us how she comes into her own and out of her meekness with the help of Gage/Wizard, a MC member of her father's generation. I really liked how both Nev and Wizard grew in this story. Even though Colt turns up the angst three quarters of the way through the book, I really didn't think that plot devise was needed - this book was a 5 for me before this happened.

To me, it was so great to just read about two people coming into their own and how they treated each other with respect and kindness as they became stronger people, not just surviving by themselves on a day-to-day basis. I liked the slow burn until the heat consumed them both.

Happy reading!

Spun

Lighter Shade of Blue

Shyla Cole

3.5 stars

These both were good stories but the 3.5 stars comes from what I felt was a rise to a controversy in each book and then within about a chapter all was well. The characters are great as was the storyline so if we had a little more depth into the drama and “issues” when they finally came to a head I would have rated these two books higher.
Spun is the story of the MC Enforcer Gage “Wizard” Carmody and Nevada of Nevy Weber. Nevy was raised by the club constantly passed around. She didn’t want for anything but having caring parents was what she wanted most. Her mom took off and after her Dad went on the road leaving Neveda in the care of fellow club members.

Nevada knows its only a matter of time when Fuse does something he shouldn’t. His Old Lady turns a blind eye. The banging on her locked door in his home makes her wish she could get out safely from the house but she knows its not use. Fuse puts his hands on Neveda but knowing how to fight she flees from the house just in time to find Wizard heading her way and not happy with Fuzes actions.

Wizard knows Fuze is on short time with his actions and putting his hands on Nevy just sealed the deal. He will take care of Neveda in order to keep her safe. The King Chasers are pleased that Wizard has responsibilities now; especially one in particular. All hell is about to break lose.

Lighter Shade of Blue

Bluebell strong has been the good girl while her sister has been the bad. This time her father isn’t bailing her out. Frustrated at the hand she has been dealt finally enough is enough. She will take care of Bolten. Blue had tried to escape the MC but now with Calla in jail doing time she has to go back and take care of her nephew. Bolton’s father has always been the love of Blue’s life but Calla ruined that as well. She went after him and he didn’t shy away; or so it seems.

Shadow has done his time and he is going after Blue whether she wants him or not. They will be living under the same roof raising his son. Bolton has only known one mother and that wasn’t Calla his real mom; its been Blue. What Calla did all those years ago ruined him. The truth will come out and Blue will be his. He’s done trying to make things work because the only person he wants is the beautiful woman he let go or couldn’t have.

This book just stopped. There is a tragedy at the end and I kept trying to turn more pages and they weren’t there. I don’t know if its supposed to be a cliffhanger or not but Im pretty sure its not. Bummer for this reader because the story line is and was a keeper.

I just read Spun and I really enjoyed it. It's the start of the Chaos MC series and it didn't disappoint. Everything was one par with this one. The storyline had me from the get go and who's doesn't love a story about a biker brat (sweet girl) that has to get the protection from the enforcer of the club. Grant it, Wizard will be he one to tell you that you ant force him into anything but what made him extra special to me was his loyalty to Nev. Yes, he helped raise her but once she became his ole lady, it was a slow progression into something more. Real to me. I loved the whole obstacle part to it. Expected? Yes but done really well. Loved the secondary characters. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with. I'm all about bikers so with being pleased with this one I'm sure I'll love it too!

Much better than I originally thought.

h didn't have loving parents during grown-up, all she had was herself and her father's MC brothers who helped pick her up from school and sth like that.

H was h's father's MC brother, who also kind of raised her up, in order to save her from harassing by other new MC members, he claimed her as his old lady. While they lived under the same roof and spent much time together, their feelings toward each other changed.

I got emotional after sth happened to H, fortunately it had HEA.

If you like to read MC story with simple story line and not mind an older H, try this book

I'm going to start by saying I had rated this 3+ stars until the unsatisfactory ending - this author disappointed so much by not giving 2 of her best characters a well thought-out finish.

SPOILERISH:

Really enjoyed this one and liked both MCs alot, but it became disappointing. While the memory loss storyline added interest, it then became the focus of the relationship, and the author wrapped up the ending way too soon! Authors, if you want to start something, make sure you finish it in a smart & satisfactory way for your readers - this could have been fleshed out so much more and the HEA would have been much more satisfactory. As it stands, a really good story turned into a meh!

Wizard has to reassure his woman things from time to time, "if I wanted to keep eating alone in silence, or be with someone else, I would. Don’t get all weird on me now, Nevy." I liked the reaction Wizard had to being Nev's first, "because I’ve never done this before.” My d*** is instantly hard. The thought of being the only one who’s ever been inside of her has me feeling even more territorial." I liked this book I loved Wizard and Nev

This book started out so good for me, I liked the concept and where it was headed with the couple. And then it started fizzling out for me....the flow of the story was sometimes hard to follow & the gaps in time were extremely confusing. The end also felt very rushed. This is why I'm giving it only a 2.7 stars. So after saying that, I do think this series has potential and I'm going to check out the next book to see if the Author was able to make it stronger.

3.5 Stars

I really like the story between Nev and Gage and how they developed but felt like I didn't get enough of their story. The ending felt a bit rushed and I wasn't fully happy with the resolution but up till the conflicts it was a solid 4.5 stars! After that it just didn't fully work for me.

Spun by Shyla Colt
I purchased this audio book.
First up I gotta say Rachel was a new voice for me and at first I wasn’t sure about her. However, as the story got going, I really came to enjoy her and listening to her voice all the characters and emotions did work for me. I am such an audio junkie that I am kinda picky on voices. But I did think she did a great job.
Ok so here we go…the book starts out with our girl Nev in TROUBLE!! She is living with a member of the Kings because her parents kinda suck and don’t care about her. She has been shuffled all through the brotherhood and cared for by the members, but this member seems to think Nev is free for the taking…yeah not the case. When Wizard steps in and sees what almost happened to the club’s unofficial daughter, he is PISSED OFF. Rightly so. He steps up and claims her so that no one else will feel she is a free piece of club meat.
Nev and Wizard come to an understand while living together as old man and ol lady. She will pretend to be his women and she can live her life. When the President makes Wizard look at the REAL WOMAN Nev is, things start to change between the two of them. Nev had ALWAYS had a crush on the older patched member and now he sees the woman and perfect old lady she is.
Nev and Wizard find a great place and are really falling into love when shit goes sideways, and everything changed.
I did feel the end of the story was rushed after the plot twist change happened. I would have loved more seeing the changes that Wizard goes through, but it did end rushed. Maybe it’s because I really enjoyed the story and wanted more? I did enjoy the bad people in the story that caused the shit storm to happen and I kinda loved Nev’s dad all of a sudden being a dad….weird how when the kid grows up you realize how much you lost.
Cant wait to jump in to book 2!!

A fairly decent read if not formulaic and totally predicable.

Characters ok, not great, needed more depth. Stoeyline was basically.

In need if an editor ir one who kniw what they're doing, grammar issues, whole words missing or incorrect words used. Like why is it that writers in the states don't know the difference between conscious and conscience. They always say conscious when they mean conscience, don't they know conscious is about either being aware or awake? Its not what you feel when you feel guilty or not.

'Your conscience is the part of your personality that helps you determine between right and wrong. Your conscious, on the other hand, is your awareness of yourself and the world around you. ... In the most general terms, it means being awake and aware.'

Wake the fuck up and educate yourselves honestly its appalling authors don't know the difference and as you can tell seriously annoys me

Dangerously Hot

This book is much more raw than other MC books I’ve read. I wasn’t sure but I gave it a chance and the more I read the more I was sucked into the story. Nevada and Wizard have known each other since she was a little girl. Wizard has always been around since her dad and absent mother never cared enough to care. When Wizard claims Nevada to protect her the danger becomes even worse. Their relationship and love grows amongst all the tails and tribulations that come with the chaotic, dangerous, wild and unpredictable wars that come with the lifestyle. I really enjoyed the book and I’m going to continue reading the series. HEA. Happy Reading

A roller-coaster of emotions

Spun is Wizard and Nevada's story, I was hooked from page 1, the story was a roller-coaster of emotions, full of drama, angst, heartbreak, hope, a slow burn attraction and love, violence, betrail, trust, friendship and most of all some scary interesting characters, Nevada is a strong young women, her confidence and self-esteem is not the best (with parents like her it is no surprise), but Wizard knows how to get the best version of Nevada to shine.

Loved it

MC
Dual pov
Age gap
Amnesia

Wizard takes Necada in to protect her because her parents aren't good at parenting and she has issues with somebody in the club. Sometimes love happens when you least expect it and nothing and nobody can stop it. Not amnesia and not familiar feelings that you thought you had.

This was a reread for me. If I'm in a reading slump I got back to this book. You have a love hate relationship with the people and the book makes you feel all sorts of emotions.

Great story!

I gave this book 5 stars for its unique storyline. Well, unique in my opinion bc I've never read one like this. The age difference was clearly a hurdle and I feel it was handled well. I wish there was a little more background into everyone's past with the club but overall I enjoyed the story very much. I'd love to hear more about Wiz and Nevada in the future if possible. Quick read, I finished this in one afternoon and am going to start book 2 of this series.
