The Harper Twins #1

Sibling Rivalry

Rate this book
The twins had one rule. No one dates both of them. However, what happens when the man comes along they're both willing to break that rule for? Will the rule be broken? Aimee Harper just wants her car fixed. She doesn't need her sister's kind of help, the manipulation, the sexism, the way her sister uses her body to get whatever she wants. Aimee prefers her life simple, her peaceful existence, even if she doesn't have the adventures her sister has or meets the men her sister tends to wake up with on the weekend. Yet, to battle Karla's plans, Aimee needs to go on a date with Mitch Greenway but what's confusing to her is that he actually wants to go out with her and not her seductive sister. But what about their rule? Karla Harper can't believe her sister still hasn't learned to play the game. There's a reason women have all the power; it's because men want what's between their legs. A wink here, a wiggle of the backside there, and soon men are panting to help you accomplish your dreams. Of course, that is, until Mitch Greenway steps into the picture. No matter what Karla throws at him, the dark, powerful man still wants her timid sister. Aimee's close to breaking the rule of the twins and Karla can't believe it. Mitch Greenway has seen plenty of women such as Karla Harper, but quiet, shy Aimee draws his eye and grabs his attention. She doesn't want to run a game on him, but rather to just enjoy the moment without her sister's interference. He's heard about their rule, the rule that states that no man can date both sisters, and he knows that Karla believes since she's already slept with him that he won't go out with Aimee. However, Karla doesn't know him, and what's more, her sister is no longer playing by Karla's rules.Buy Sibling Rivalry now for passion on every page that'll keep you up all night. This book was originally published under Robbie Cox.

Sibling Rivalry is the latest hit by Robbie Cox. I fell in love with this author's writing when I read Losing Faith. He has mastered character development in his stories, giving them such real personalities that you feel you are right there in the room watching them.

In Sibling Rivalry, he writes of a set of twins, The Harper Sisters, Aimee & Karla. You watch as they build relationships with each other and others. With moments of sexual tension, sexual release and sisterly bonding, at the end, I could see an opening for a possible second novel.

I am looking forward to seeing what this author has in store for us next. Definitely an author to be followed because he is going to be big.

OMG what can I say about this book that would not give away the whole book to anyone. I absolutely love Aimee and think that Karla is not the nicest sister in the world and would want to slap him sometimes. Clint is a great guy and just the description of him makes me wish he was around in the real world! Clint is a great single father and takes care of a great daughter that has lots of energy. She is a great girl. I want to see how the book ends up and if Bonnie will actually stay out of their lives for good! I wish I could have been at the pool both times Karla confronts Bonnie and embarrasses her. It would be a funny sight to see it all in the end. I think this book was really well wrote out and has lots of characters in it. I want to see what ends up being the future for all of the characters and hope that Karla does end up being a nice sister in the end and not being a complete witch with her sister. This is a great story and you will love the characters and wish that you were in the story with them and getting this all happen to you right then and there. Great job Robbie on an awesome book and can't wait to finish reading this series to see where everything ends up at.

Another great read by Robbie Cox who once again brings strong, well developed characters and weaves an entertaining story. He brings a story of twins with different personalities and shows the relationship between them. Along the way there's romance with a bit of steam and some sexy scenes. It's an enjoyable story showing the bond between siblings, moves fluidly and brought to life with his descriptive writing and detailed scenes.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

I liked the basic premise of the story. However, there were things I would probably change. I like the story revolving around twins. In fact, the twins jn this book kind of made me think of Sweet Valley High for adults. I think some of the spicy parts were maybe over the top, but not to the point I didn't want to finish the book or the series. I definitely prefer the character, Aimee, but I have hopes that Karla will mature in the next book. There is a major trigger warning for me in this book, so if belts or spanking is a trigger for you, be aware of that.

The Harper twins couldn't be more different if they tried. One is conservative the other a wild child. But when it comes down to it, family comes first.
Good story. Good characters. Lots of sex. Overall not a bad book.

A book not just about possible love, but also one that deals with sisterly affections and how being twins can affect a dating life. Aimee and Karla are twins but they are nothing alike. Whilst Karla is the outgoing, mouthy, fun loving, no time for love, and in her mind understands how relationships and men work, her sister Aimee is the complete opposite, looking for love, low key, and has no real clue about men. When Mitch is introduced as a means to an end, everything that the twins hold true turns on it's head. But will Aimee next door neighbor Clint change the scene as she has been lusting after him for a while.

Plans may just go awry when Clint wife turns up after a year to see her daughter and husband and maybe this Mitch business will go either one way or another to the twins. Filled with lots of open door sex scenes, this was fun to read.

A fun read, it will be interesting to see how the next book plays out.

I would definitely recommend this book!!!

Sibling Rivalry is a great read; one you find yourself wondering what the characters are up to even when you aren’t reading. Mr. Cox sets the reader up in the first chapter, with a steamy scene, on what to expect from Aimee and Karla, and does not let you down throughout the entire book. The Twins continue to show the reader just how “individual” people really are in their approach to life, in and out of the bedroom, and all it has to offer. The story ends with a closure to Aimee, but leaves you with a desire to see what is in store for Karla……Hint Hint….Mr. Cox….. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a good book.

Aimee Harper lay wide awake in her bed, not for the first time regretting sharing her home with her twin sister, Karla, whose activities with her one-night-stand prevented her from sleep. The next morning, Brad was cooking them breakfast. Karla, with her usual manipulation, had gotten him to help with getting Aimee’s car fixed, sending them to Mitch Greenway who ran his own shop, was very good at his job, and would give them a discount. Karla used her body to get everything she wanted – she had started doing so in middle school, so she was quite adept now. Aimee was completely different from her twin, quiet, shy, and respectable – and usually dateless.

Aimee walked down to the pool and saw her neighbor, Clint Asher, and his adorable 3-year-old daughter, Abigail. Abigail let out a squeal of delight at seeing her, and Clint welcomed the adult conversation. He was a nice guy and a great dad. As she laid in the sun on the lounge chair, Clint sat beside her and asked if she wanted to go to an old building with him. His crew would be renovating it, and she knew she liked taking pictures of old buildings. The house was everything she could want and more. Aimee saw beauty that reached out to her from the past, from the bedraggled curtains to the broken rocking chair on its side. She felt that art was what you could make others see and feel. If the piece spoke to her, then she knew she could make it speak to others. As they finished up, Clint asked her to have dinner with him so they didn’t have to eat alone. His parents were keeping Abigail overnight for him.

Karla got a phone call from Mitch about the car. So she flirted with him and told him she was on the way out to a nice place on the beach. He told her he just might see her there, and she knew he would. Men were all alike to her, very predictable. He met her there and had a couple of very hot dances with her. Then he went home to get some sleep before the busy morning arrived.

Karla followed Aimee’s sputtering car to Mitch’s garage. Aimee had made it plain to Karla that she wanted no special favors “earned” by her sister. When Mitch called later with the estimate, she asked if that was the full cost. He said he gave a discount for being a friend of Brad’s, to which she demanded he charge full price. So he agreed – IF she would go out with him! The car would be fixed by the next day, he said, and they talk about the cost. He was playful and she didn’t know how to respond.

With two men now very interested in Aimee, what kind of choices would she make for herself? Would Karla interfere? Would her choice be affected by the return of Clint’s ex-wife who wanted back in the picture? Was he worth fighting for? How could she decide?

This was a great story and very well-written. The story line was really good, especially when Aimee meets two very decent guys who each seem that they can appreciate her sincere and gentle behavior. I look forward to Book 2 to see more of series. It’s definitely worth your time to read this one!

SIBLING RIVALRY is the first book in the Harper Twins series. This series does need to be read in the order of release.

You can’t say that this story is about Aimee and Clint’s relationship from meet-cute to HEA. This is the first part of Aimee and Clint and Mitch and Karla…. And Brad, Paul, Sandy, and so many others. This isn’t one romance. It is many relationships – family, friends, work, and romance. There is phenomenal character development and emotional exploration. This is sexy, steamy, fun, flirty, and not at all serious.

The twins, Aimee and Karla are identical in looks, but opposites in personality. This is a reminder to anyone who has not know any real twins that they are separate people.

Karla is a free-spirited wild child who sees her sexuality as a commodity to be used for gain. I didn’t like her at the beginning of the book. She grew on me. As I learned more about why she felt as she did, I understood. Isn’t that the way of most people? If we understood why they did the things they do, we would judge them less harshly. Her love for her sister was undeniable in the end.

Aimee is the always sensible sister. For many, especially Karla, that would be spelled s-t-i-c-k-i-n-t-h-e-m-u-d. She’s quiet, bookish, and hasn’t dated much. I had to laugh at the way that claws could only come out when fighting with her sister (just like me with my sister) or defending her man.

To me, the scenes of sisterly fighting make me think this author must have a few siblings. We fight with family differently than with anyone else – even that friend that is like a brother. The bond is different. We can fight with them and we will defend them, stand with them against any foe. When Bonnie, Clint’s soon-to-be-ex-wife, shows up and the sisters now have a common enemy… well, let’s just say someone should be calling a priest for Last Rites, metaphorically speaking.

Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Another fun and sexy read by Robbie Cox! SIBLING RIVALRY is a contemporary adult romance with sizzle. Lots of sizzle. And definitely on my “Adults Only” read list!

The Harper twins may look alike, but their personalities are worlds apart. Karla is a bit of a free spirit who knows how to use people to her advantage, and she knows how to use her body to get men to do her bidding. Aimee, on the other hand, is much more independent and traditional, working things out for herself... even if she has to dip into her concert money to pay for car repairs. When Mitch, the auto mechanic, seems to prefer sweet Aimee over come-hither Karla, Karla makes her claim on Mitch and insists Aimee abide by their long-standing rule of not dating the same man. Ahhh! The sibling rivalry begins!

Along comes Clint, the single dad who Aimee had been fantasizing over and Karla does what Karla does to catch his eye. Will this rivalry escalade into an all out war? Or will sisterly love prevail? I loved how Karla's character came out when she went into sisterly-protective mode as Bonnie, Clint's soon-to-be-ex-wife shows up. Great story line! Can't wait to read the next two books in this series.

Excellent Story

I had never realized how complicated a life could be with a twin sister and men. The emotions that you feel between the sisters just flow off the page. You feel almost a little sorry for Aimee and way way she sits back and let's Karla walk all over her.

But then you feel for Karla and wonder why she is the way she is. This story makes you want to jump in and slap then pigs of men that we see.

This story is more about Aimee than Karla, but you learn about both of them and story gives you Aimee and her dilemma over which man she wants in her life.

This story keeps you on your toes in wonder which way the story is going to go. Almost makes you want to jump to the end.

Until Next Time...Tabi

Aimee is the quite type while Karla is the wild twin. Karla belives all men and even some women are to be used. She also thinks the best way to control things is through sex. Aimee belives you should only get things through hard work. Aimee has been slowly starting a relationship with Clint. Clint is a single father of a three year old. However one of Karla's fling is asking Aimee for a date. Mitch keeps telling her he doesn't want to sleep with her just get to know her more. This unusual behavior confuses Aimee and sets off Karla. Aimee really likes Clint but his runaway wife gets in the way. The constant battle with Karla over Mitch is wearing as well.

Welcome to the world of Twins!

Twins have a special dynamic, especially when it comes to dating. Robbie Cox has a way of bringing his characters to life, he stays true to who they are and the reader can see and feel the story as it unfolds. I very much enjoyed the peek into the lives of Aimee and her twin sister Karla. People think that twins are always alike, especially if they look alike, Sibling Rivalry shows the reader that things are not always as it seems, and sometimes outsiders can come between, but in the end, family comes first. I look forward to the the next two books in this series and seeing if Karla and Aimee get their happily ever after and with who.

Being a sister (not a twin) I totally understand the sibling rivalry that these two had with each other. Not quite to the extent that they did, but there was always some little thing my sister and I competed for. Aimee & Karla take it to the next level when there are a couple of new guys in the picture. Well, maybe not so much on Aimee's part, but there is definitely a competition. I really enjoyed this different glimpse into sisterhood, the differences in twins, and the sameness of love. Also, is the signature sexiness that comes with a Robbie Cox story.

super hot and suspenseful read

Twins Aimee and Karla have a rule no man gets to date both twins. Simple. Except if Karla doesn't have to play by any rules, why should Aimee? Will she Date mechanic Mitch even though he has already slept with Karla? Is she willing to risk everything she may have with as good as single dad Clint just to get back at Karla? This was a super hot and suspenseful read and I can't wait to read more about the Harper twins.

Very vanilla, but I enjoyed it. It was a nice intro to the sisters and though I am being a big skeptic on reading about Karla, since I don't like her, I am eagerly waiting for Aimee's story. There was some dragging and I actually skipped over the sex scenes, since I think they didn't actually fit into the book. I did like getting know the sisters and their relationship. It was a nice realistic story.

Loved this book! There were times where I wanted to choke Karla but in her own way she loves her sister. Sibling Rivalry is the perfect title for this book! There's lots of drama between the twins. But they live each other in their own right. Lots of hot scenes that so didn't disappoint! The twins have a connection but always want to out do the other twin. Their battle is evident throughout the book. Such a fantastic read!

Aimee is the typical girl next door type and her twin Karla is the second vamp using her talents to get what she wants.
They share a condo because Aimee is trying to protect her mom from Karla'so manipulation.
Karla does not understand her sisters boring life, but she will protect her from harm.
Aimee starts dating single dad Clint, then his ex shows up and things get spicy. A good read.

Aimee and Karla are as different as night and day. Karla is the outspoken and wild one. Aimee is the quiet and responsible one. Aimee is the one who is always helping her sister out of jams. Aimee needs to get her car fixed and the mechanic is interested in her. Karla is also interested in Mitch. Will Aimee find her happily ever after or will she have to give it up for her sister?

The book gets better if you can get passed the terrible book cover and the first 20% of the book where Aimee seems so over the top prudish and self-righteous to the point of asking to pay full price instead of taking a much needed discount.

Was a good read. This book really keeps everything fresh as the story goes along. Loved reading the two different POV for the sisters. And there escapades made reading the book fun. Can't wait to see what's next. This book really is like my life. I may not be a twin but me and my sister act exactly like the twins. I'm more Aimee and my sister Karla.

This is the first book that I have read by author Robbie Cox but won't be the last! The author did an great job at developing the characters and bringing them to life. The book is written great and flows at a nice pace, not too slow and not too fast. This can be called a read to life book with the situations facing the main characters actually happening to two young and single adults. The sex scenes were very hot and steamy while the rivalry and antics between the twins was great addition with some comic relief. This book would be great for anyone who love a good romance story with a HEA. I look forward to book two in the series.

This book was enjoyable. It is a story about a set of sister. Twin sisters who couldn't be anymore different. One of them looking for Mr. Right. One looking for Mr. Right now. It goes through how they came up with some rules they live by. And why they are important.

Family Sticks Together.... or do they?

Most family members feel that they can fight among themselves but when an outsider comes into the picture and tries to cause waves, they better be prepared for the protective side to come. You see just this type of relationship between Karla and Aimee in Sibling Rivalry. I found myself emotionally invested to see if these siblings would survive the love triangles presented. Robbie Cox does a great job in keeping you on the edge and at times jumping sides on which sister you wanted come out on top. I even had times of wanting them both to "get the guy". Also, the steamy hot scenes make for a great addition to an already great story. Looking forward to the next book!

I will admit, one of the main reasons I read this book was to see how a man does with writing erotica. It is not something men usually write, and I have never read an erotica written by a man before. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Robbie Cox has managed to create wonderful, believable characters and develop a strong story that is not only steamy and sexy but also carries a strong plot and storyline. I could not put the book down. I actually lost sleep and forgot to eat at times as I got wrapped up in antics of the Harper Twins. Sibling Rivalry is about these two twin sisters how find themselves fighting over the same man, but there are far more pieces to the story to stop there. This is a must read book for anyone who enjoys erotica and romance!
