What I like about this series is that you think you know what is going on but then you don't. You think you know who and why but then you don't. Avery is caught up in this terrible web and so many innocent people are dying around her. How many more really need to die before the murder is caught? Will Noah be able to protect Avery? Can't wait to read the last book in the series and see how things turn out.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book kept me turning the pages even more than the first in the trilogy did! Having a connection to the characters from the first book made me even more invested in their fates throughout this one and left me dying (pun not intended) to know what happens to them.
The reason this book did not receive a higher rating is because I did notice some grammatical errors. Also, at times I felt that the writing was a bit too fast paced and would have benefited from slowing down and setting the scene a bit more.
Overall, I'm loving this plot and the characters keep me invested in their stories. I was thrown off in this book and the big surprise in this book genuinely did surprise me! As much as I would like the story to dig a little deeper into what's happening and the characters, I still feel connected to them and am upset when bad things happen to them (especially at the end of this one).
I'll definitely be diving into the conclusion of the trilogy sooner rather than later!
This book was as exciting or more so than the first book in this series. Avery is the main target for a serial killer, and he is playing a game with her emotions until he tries to catch her again. Emerald O'Brien is an excellent writer. You cannot stop reading this book once you start because of all the unexpected twists she includes to hold you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend that you read each book in this series. I am looking forward to reading the final book.
A good read and I'm enjoying the series quite a bit, although why just three stars? Well I think at some point the murders are getting a bit cheap and easy. Arnold is starting to take on a Jason like ability to find victims and kill faster than the cops can keep up. Even when he is surrounded he can escape capture because there is no end to cops that are corrupt or can be blackmailed. When he was cuffed in the hospital bed by only one hand, I kept thinking...wtf!? He was apparently close to never walking again, but yet was able to take a hostage, escape and kill more innocent people. It seemed obvious to me that he would target Josh and Sadie to get to Avery, however putting cops in place to watch them would just end up in more dead cops anyway as Arnold is smarter, stronger, faster than the entire police force combined.
Since we are half way through his count, I suspect the final book will continue on this path. I will read to the conclusion but I hope Noah, Ethan and January start to get ahead of this guy sooner than later.

I'm weary of reading about the "super hero" villian. So,,,,sorry. I quit. Book one was great but book two became a reincarnation of Holloween and Friday tge 13th. The villian was unstoppable in those movies and so is Arnold in this story. Too much for me. I'm moving on to a lighter story. I'm really sorry I bought this book. However, if I had not paid for the book I would have stopped reading it long long ago. Afterfinishing book 2 I really wish I had stopped reading much earlier.
Still on the trail of the crazed mask monster of Avery's nightmares
Noah and Ethan have to put up with the grouchy Paltry and continue to work the case with interference from the less than competent inspector looking over their shoulder. The characters in this book are so likeable you will feel like you are screaming for them to get Arnold once and For all before he kills again. I am going straight into book 3 right now I have to see how this ends.
This story is just getting better and better. I love the crazy twists. Just when I think they are about to nab this monster, he gets away again. I have the final book and will start it NOW. I have to know how this ends. Good stuff. Thank you Emerald.
I enjoyed this book more than the first one of the series. It had fewer grammatical errors, and the plot ran better . . . for a while. Hit by a car, surgery, little recovery and back at it with strength too? Too far-fetched for me. My wife liked the series much better than me. 3 stars is the best I can do.
Bare Your Bones is another awesome murder mystery by Emerald O'Brien. If you enjoy a good mystery or murder mystery, this is a must read for you.
It's so refreshing to be able to concentrate on the mystery aspect and the complexities of the psychological game the murderer is playing with Avery, her friends and even the cops.
Wow, I couldn't put this down. I read book 1 and realised what a great find this author is. Book 2 is even better. I have cried real tears, and shared Avery's pain. I cannot wait to read the 3rd and final book. Fantastic!
Avery Harts story continues on in this second book. All I can say is, WOW! This book captured me from start to finish. The twists in this one just get better. Definitely recommend you read in order. Must read!!
I think i read the first two books in less than 2 days! Very good! Fast paced and lots of action and plot twists. Looking forward to reading the last book in this series to see what happens!
I enjoyed reading the continuing adventures of Avery Hart and her friends.I have already purchased the next book in the series so that I know what happens next.
Great Second Book. This author has been able to keep my attention in trying to get to the end. I have purchased book 3 and will finally know what the ending will be.
Its a real page turner, never sure whats coming next! sorry it ended so soon, now I have to get the next book in series. Want to see what happens to Avery!
Once again the author has given us a book that will not disappoint. Avery is in danger and her and her friends must try to find the truth quickly. Will they catch the killer in time.
Avery Hart trilogy cannot be put down. From beginning to end it's full of twists and turns. I need to go read the final book in the trilogy right now. I need to know Avery and Noah win!
Bare Your Bones is another awesome murder mystery by Emerald O'Brien. If you enjoy a good mystery or murder mystery, this is a must read for you.
Let's start at the beginning Bare Your Bones picks up nicely where Lies Come True left off. You're not wondering wait a minute what happened between here and here. It's all there. It took me a little while to remember what happened to Ethan at the end of Lies Come True, mainly I think because Ethan was referred to as Ascott in Lies Come True and Ethan in Bare Your Bones. Not a big deal by any means.
I really enjoyed reading about Avery and Noah's "relationship" in this one and how it progressed. I do think by Noah having a personal interest in Avery that it would lead him to be more invested in the case and wanting to catch Arnold.
Once again we are thrown a curve ball when it is discovered that Arnold is being fed inside information from one of the officers on the case. Makes me wonder who will be the "bad cop" in Book 3. My money is on January or Palfry, but I guess we'll have to wait to find out!
There is also a curve thrown as to one of the murder victims....doesn't fit Arnold's usual profile. Hopefully we will find out more about that in Book 3 as well!
Bare your Bones is an action packed follow up to Lies Come True. This series has kept me on the edge of my seat and I love it! Suspect everyone is one of the author's taglines, a and it is so true for this series. I can't wait for the final installment. *I received a copy of this book free for an honest review*
