Lots of great suggestions in this book for learning professionals to engage visual design solutions, but decidedly lacking on implementation strategies. For example, one area actual advised the reader to simply use a graphic program to make a vignette. No joke. That's about the end of the sentence. No suggestions on how, what tools, additional resources to teach the process, etc. Otherwise, still a useful book.

The graphics are totally outdated. Better suited for someone who is a total newbie to design.

Good reason for general design principles to aid in conveying messages to improve cognition and retention while easing the cognitive load of the viewer/reader. Some concepts are evident but still a solid, straight forward resource.

Excellent resource

A perfect demonstration of design throughout and a resource I will use in my studies and in my work. Easy to read, clearly outlined, Malamed demonstrates concepts in such as easy way that builds confidence and reinforces prior knowledge to the benefit of the learner.

Rating not based on if I’ll read it again but content.
Very great introduction to design book - I have no background in any sort of design and this broke it down into easy to understand concepts with lots of examples. Will definitely be using this for future projects - highly recommend.
