I never knew why I felt so out of place.

He did.

I was never a girl who let herself fall hard, but he changed that.

Little did I know, he was about to change so much more. . .

This 7,300+ word story contains graphic language and wild shifter pleasure. Intended for MATURE AUDIENCES 18+ only!

“I was a city boy for two years, running around the concrete, loving the noise and the craziness of it all. I sold some art to the right people and made more than enough to live on, but I missed it.” Devon sighed. His body might have been sitting next to me, but his mind was miles away, somewhere green and wild.

“I went back. I could have found those trails blind, but they were gone. The camp was torn down, and the forest had taken the places we cleared back. It was like they had never existed.” Devon’s voice trailed off. I was beginning to wonder if he had anything else to say when he continued.

“I wandered around the woods for a week searching for any sign of any of them, but there was nothing. They were all just gone. The whole pack.” The silence hung in the air. “So I came back to the city. Embraced the life I had chosen and tried to forget where I came from and what I was.” He looked up, meeting my eyes for the first time since his story began. “Then you crossed my path and it all came flooding back.”
