This book is full of action - another dangerous adventure with Caina and friends. One more bad guy down but of course the books leads an even more dangerous plan. It’s amazing that although they solve one possible world shattering event another comes up. But it keeps me coming back for more

150 years ago Loremaster Annarah had entered the netherworld via a room inside the Inferno. As she is the only one who can decipher the code revealing where she had hidden the staff and the seal, Caina and peeps must find her via the same entryway.

The Inferno is where the Immortals are created and hellfire manufactured. If that isn't bad enough, Malik Rolukhan, one of the people behind the murder of Kylon's wife, is the Lieutenant in charge and is as anxious to kill Kylon as Kylon is to get vengeance.

Early in the story, Nerina Strake claims she sees her husband, whom she believed had been killed four years prior. Instead, he was apparently a slave at the Inferno. Her constant companion, Azaces, has a lot to atone for. Caina promises Nerina they will rescue her husband if at all possible.

Annarah explains why it is imperative that they retrieve the staff and the seal instead of leaving them where they are hidden.

As foretold, Kalgri returns and proceeds to cahoot with Cassander Nilas.

Do yourself, and your wallet, a big favor and do not start reading this author's books. They're addictive. If you want to be entertained, and have the budget for all his works, then jump right in!

Jonathan Moeller writes in different styles for the different book series. The Cloak mage books are more intimate and draw you more into the mind and feelings of the main character. The Ghost series is more the typical fantasy with a touch more distance between you and characters.

My only complaint is the author REALLY needs a proof read pass before releasing his books. The spell checker alone will happily let you use a correctly spelled, but completely wrong, word in your novel. They aren't frequent enough to be annoying but they do occur regularly. At least one per novel. Jonathan, please try out pro writing aid . com!

This series just keeps getting better. The first books were lacking but this one makes up for it. The strong main character and the great story telling keeps you reading, the pages turning easily. Great Reading Everyone!

Ghost Exile book 5. There are serious spoilers for the earlier books ahead.

It start in media res. Caina and all are plotting to infiltrate the location known as the Inferno to retrieve the loremaster. And Nerina nearly destroys everything with her conviction that she saw her dead husband alive. . . .

They regroup and go on. Caina finds that someone leaves odd knives outside where she is staying, now and again. It involves kidnapping a man by convincing him there's a plot against him, someone asking what color a messenger's eyes are, arming smiths with hammers, an old enemy of Caina's being confused with her, why the Desert of Candles is called that, what, exactly, is Nasser's story, and more.
