This was an excellent read. I was hooked from the beginning all the way through the end. I will be reading future books in this series as well as other work by this author.

Dr. Stefan Keene (narrator) & Ava Keene (Sir2 gene therapy) arrived at a fancy aristocrat party.
Automobiles & Limo’s were all self-driving. 2015 they do have those.
As the 2 walked down the silver plated walkway they met their close friends: Landon Kirabelle, Kira (Landon’s wife), Steela (18, Kira’s daughter), Jessalyn (party giver) & Jude (Jessalyn’s husband).

A drug helps humans to hibernate & come back to life.
Chief Cyro-Tech, Dr. Carter monitored all their vitals.
Ava did not awake the next time around. She was now frozen in time. Ava was then put into a cryo-facility with round the clock expertise care.

Dr. Stefan Keene had designed the drug for NASA so astronauts could be suspended for long time travels.
Dr. Keene started his own R &D on the drug. Rats, Placebo & new antidote.
“It’s alive.” Frankenstein.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Wow, a very well written futuristic paranormal Novella book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great futuristic paranormal movie, animated cartoon, or mini TV series. Not something I normally read but I liked it. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

I’ve just finished reading an early copy of Dauntless (Sleep Saga Book 1) by Angela Cavanaugh. This story tells how people react when they are given the ability extend their life through a period of hibernation, obviously only the rich can afford it. period of being young – if they can afford the price. In this case, only the very rich can afford the treatment and do so liberally. Until something goes wrong .....
The novel and concept is the first In an intriguing and thought-provoking new series. The characters are well crafted, especially the main character, with clear and compelling motives. The author is able to construct wonderful, elaborate scenes, some which are lavish and absurdly decadent, and others which are constructed in the clinical futuretech of Keene’s laboratories. The settings have an authentic, immersive quality and readers are drawn into the story.
Dauntless raises deep questions about the ethical dilemma of current and future medical advances designed to expand natural lifespans. At some point one must ask, are we playing god? What happens when the creator of this technology loses control of the outcome? is no longer capable of controlling the outcome? These questions and more will no doubt loom large as the series continues, and I for one look forward to discovering how it all plays out.
On the flip side, I found the writing to be contain many grammatical and typographical errors, which did sometimes lead to confusion on my part and sometimes made the writing style seem awkward. I think al, that is required here is a really good proofreader, and this series will blossom even more. Still worth the read though!

Upon awakening, however, Dr. Keene discovers something has gone terribly awry. Can he devise a cure before it’s too late? Or has the process he pioneered outpaced even him?

With Dauntless, Angela Cavanaugh has opened the door to an intriguing and thought-provoking new series. Her characters are well crafted, with clear and compelling motives. She also has a talent for constructing a scene. From the lavish, even absurdly decadent gala to the clinical futuretech of Keene’s laboratories, her settings have an authentic, immersive quality that puts the reader in the middle of the story.

More importantly, though, Dauntless raises important questions about the human condition and the ethical dilemma presented by medical advances designed to expand natural lifespans. At what point does prolonging life become playing god? What happens when the procedure’s creator is no longer capable of controlling the outcome? These questions and more will no doubt loom large as the series continues, and I for one look forward to discovering how it all plays out.

I like it!

I’ve just finished reading an early copy of Dauntless (Sleep Saga Book 1) by Angela Cavanaugh. This story deals with how people react when they are given the possibility of an extended period of being young – if they can afford the price. In this case, only the very rich can afford the treatment – and that is not enough for their collective egos, they also have to have to have additional ways to extend their life of parties and indulgences.

Angela Cavanaugh does an excellent job of exploring these individuals and in particular one couple – and their reaction when something goes wrong. If the capabilities actually existed I expect that this would be a typical reaction by the public.

Looking forward to reading the next one.

It is fun being an early reader and a fantastic chance to see new writers developing their skills.

I received an electronic copy of Dauntless by the author, in exchange for an honest review. This Sleep Saga would fit perfectly into the realm of the television show "The Twilight Zone." Stefan is a doctor who has perfected a technique to allow people to hibernate and, therefore, slow the process of aging. When he is awakened after one such hibernation cycle, he finds that his wife Ava cannot be revived and is in a coma. Stefan embarks on a scientific quest for answers, with the hope that he can save his wife from perpetual sleep. Dauntless features a fast moving plot and great characterization. I was drawn into the world that Angela Cavanaugh created and found myself wishing that the book was longer. Although this was a quick read, it was definitely worthwhile. I look forward to reading the next segment of this series and recommend Dauntless highly.

Ms. Cavanaugh writes another great story, that really makes you think about what would happen if you could hibernate and stay young forever. Of course, the only people who can afford it are the rich. And they use it liberally....and yes, something goes wrong!
Ms. Cavanaugh's characters are well thought out and written. The scenes were well developed and full of imagination.
However, there were some errors that could have been fixed if a thorough read by a proofreader could of been done.
Keep up the amazing work!! I would like to thank Ms. Cavanaugh for a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review!
