I recieved this book from netgalley for an honest review.
This is just the type of book that I can't put down. I finished it in just 2 days and really enjoyed the story. I loved that the author combined a overwhelming attraction between the characters with a strong female role and desire from each one to serve each other.
I definately would recommend this book to anyone interested in fantasy romance.

Well, I sure as hell wasn't expecting this.
If you are into having BDSM ... with a scottish shapeshifter. No. With a vampire. No, wait...I think he is a knight faery who wears a kilt.

Seriously, Leith MacQuill. What are you exactly ?

Well, anyway. This book has an interesting concept and maybe other people will enjoy Dark and Stormy Knight more than I did.

I received an ARC from the author NINA MASON-in exchange for an honest opinion. This is Mismousey's very honest opinion of her DARK AND STORMY KNIGHT .
Having read other books written by this fabulous -delicious and very talented author. I already knew that Ms. Mason has a true gift of creativity and imagination. She takes her readers on one wild ride after another. You never know what to expect next. Or even how the story will play out or end. Her characters are so well developed and described. As are the scenes. As a reader you able to visualize everything to the smallest detail.
Once Ms. Mason takes pen to paper a magical -beautiful-amazing and creative story is bursting forth. She has such a creative mind - and the characters talk to her in such a way. That only they can do with her.
DARK AND STORMY KNIGHT -is the second book in the Avalon Series. The first book is Starry Knight. We were introduced to the world of Avalon along with fae. In it we learned that our "Knights" who escaped from Avalon and the wicked Queen. Well -before they actually escaped the devils were her lovers. That is until she got tired of them and had an order for their death sentence to be carried out. Hence their escape from Avalon. Also as Knights of Avalon they also had to drink blood-like vampires.
So as our book opens we are introduced to another Knight. This one is named Leith MacQuill- he uses a pen name to write books. A screenwriter by the name of Gwen Moreland is traveling to his castle. Wanting to meet the author of the screenplay is currently working on. Along with getting a signed contract from Lady Ruthven ( who just so happened to have written the play). As Gwen travels in the coach with other passengers during a bad storm. It gets hits by lighting-goes over the cliff. Seeing the accident happen Leith runs to aide the passengers. When Gwen wakes up -she finds herself in a strange bed. Not knowing what had happened to her or the others. Till she is finally informed.
Little by little Gwen finds out about Leith. She falls for him and wants him more each day. However- he tells her that it can not happen. They can not be together. Not ever! Over time he finally explains the curse that has been placed upon him. How it came to be and who put it there. Gwen wants to fight for them. He tells her to forget about them. As it will only cause her death.
Now will they be able to over the curse? Can Leith escape Avalon and the Queen again to save his true love?
This story has so many different twist and turns. You never know which way you are going. You are left on the edge of your seat/edge of the page reading. Ms. Mason keeps you in such suspense that since you are sitting on the edge of the seat having to know what happens next. You keep reading till you have completed the book. This is one book YOU WILL DEVOUR IN ONE SITTING !!! I recommend this book to all Readers who love Fantasy an Paranormal. Mismousey gives it a firm rating of 80 of 5 stars. MAKE SURE TO ADD IT TO YOUR GOODREADS READING LIST THEN DO THE FITH FATH CHANGE INTO A BIRD AND GET YOUR COPY TODAY!!!

Leigh is a Scottish Knight who gain immortality from battle. In the current day he is a writer. He is trying to save his castle but leads a lonely life due to a curse.

Gwyn is ready for her big break and travels to Scottland to secure the film rights to elusive author Lady Ruthven’s acclaimed novel. It is a great surprise to find that Lady Ruthven is actually Leigh.

When Leigh saves Gwyn it starts a wild ride to a relationship.

Leigh and Gwyn are both strong characters. Leigh has seen much heartache in his immortal life. Gwen is trying to prove something to herself after living with a wicked stepmother. You will see her struggle to find her strength as the story unfolds.

What I loved most about this story is that Ms. Mason took paranormal, Fae/Vampire, shapeshifter, suspense, historical Scotland, BDSM, romance, a curse, torture, an so much more and weaved a story that draws you in from the first page. It seems like all of this would be way over the top but she creates a story that is fantasy/romantic/suspensful.

This is the second in a series but can be read as a standalone. I will definitely be looking into the first book. I need more of these Scottish Knights.

Kindly provided with an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.......

Seriously, this leading man took a while for me to warm up to, but when I did *fanself* what a darling !!!. He holds himself back for a reason.......want to know what ?.......read the book my lovelies xx

This is Gwyn and Leith's story. It can be read as a standalone but is actually book 2 on the series. At first I kept thinking what's this guy's deal ?. He just seemed so very closed off. Later you learn why. Gwyn, well she was a woman on a mission. She wants nothing to get in her way of securing her rights to an elusive Scottish author. Guess what ?, something very hot and brooding gets very much in her way !!!. The bonus is he's the elusive author that Gwyn has been seeking out. Leith has his own secrets *drool*..........and as the story progresses Gwyn wants more than the rights to his books.......she wants the rights to him and his heart !!!

Very steamy sex scenes, sometime a tad explicit......but nothing I could not stand to continue. I liked the deeper plot.......the curse. All in all a good mythical romance read.

Well done Nina and many thanks for the opportunity x

Later peeps xx

I just couldn't finish this book. I got 30% into it and had to call it quits. I so wanted to like this book, it said it had all the stuff I like a Scottish dude, a curse, history, and hot sex. I was in, but it was just Yuk! The Scottish dude was an arrogant ass who seemed to have absolutely no redeeming characteristics and was the most crude thinking and talking character I have ever read. The sex was not great and the crude names for parts and thinking took away from it. I am all up for dirty talking....but really!?!

I hate that I couldn't finish, but I guess every story isn't for everyone.

Dark and Stormy Knight is the ultimate steamy follow up to Nina Mason’s Starry Knight. Both are installments in Mason’s Knights of Avalon series, books chronicling the real world lives of ‘reformed’ knights of Avalon. Much like its predecessor, Dark and Stormy Knight is a blend of literary forms, combining historical fiction, mythology, the quest model, erotica, and even a smattering of comic relief. While the two books complement one another, book two could certainly be read as a standalone tale.

Dark and stormy Leith MacQuill is delivered from certain death on the battlefields of Scotland only to suffer humiliating atrocities at the hands of faery queen of Avalon Morgan LeFay. Morgan’s knights (humans turned faery, like Leith) are granted power and longevity, but are forever beholden to Avalon. In a rare turn of events, Leith is granted leave from Avalon, faery abilities intact. The catch, however, is a spiteful curse Morgan places on Leith forbidding him to fall in love. Should Leith dare fall in the love, the death of his lover is forfeit. And so our hero pines away in his Scottish castle longing for a lass to love. Enter Gwyneth Morland, another lost soul looking for love. Gwynn finds herself in Scotland, screenplay in hand, set to secure the film rights to Knight of Cups, a book authored by the elusive Lady Leigh Ruthven. Tragedy strikes, and quickly Leith becomes Gwyn’s knight in tarnished armour.

This book could really be split in two. The first part is fairly erotic and insanely riveting. Leith is an impossible romantic, but I loved it. Yes I loved it. The romance unfolds quickly and passionately, but soon the story transitions into a quest. If Gwyn and Leith are going to have their happily ever after, the curse must be broken. And so the second part of the book is about their individual journeys, against all odds, to break the curse.

It’s hard to say which part of the story is more enjoyable, as they are quite different. The latter portion of the book is action-packed and suspenseful, while the first half is deliciously dripping with erotic tension and subsequent release. Really, I think Nina Mason is smart. She has ensured a fairly wide audience for her Knights of Avalon series by appealing to a varied reading audience. With Dark and Stormy Knight, there’s really something for everyone. This is a series I intend to follow.

This is the second book in the Knights of Avalon series and I was so excited when it came out . This series is such a great mixture of history, magic . BDSM folklore and a love that defies all . They are all blended into a story that will make you weak in the knees and shed a tear or two as you read .

Gwyn the young heroine of our story , an aspiring screenwriter , has been a mouse of a person her whole life. She has had a history of abuse and neglect her whole life . So to make a change in her life, she heads to Scotland to sure up the movie rights from an elusive author . But what she doesn't know is that circumstances will throw her into the arms of the man of her dreams . Enter Leith Macquill the knight who has been a recluse since escaping Avalon. An reclusive author that hates tourists, but when he finds Gwyn things seem to change . The more time they spend time together the more they fall in love against what he knows . They find their way towards each other and start to fall in love . They have to fight the forces of Avalon to be together. I loved these characters , they started off so

different . Gwyn was such a sweet almost naïve girl that as you turned the pages , you see her growing and becoming so kick ass and will do anything to get the man of her dreams . Leith to me came off as an arrogant man at the beginning of the book. Until you start to really get into his story. To me he was a hurt and broken man that just wanted to love but couldn't . He wanted love and you can see him falling for Gwyn even though he tries so hard not to.

The author has done a great job mixing the history and the present together . She takes on a journey that is both harrowing and whimsical in some aspects . I like the fact there are two aspects to this story the first part is all sex and more sex. The second part of the book is all about the quest to break the curse . I loved the hot steamy sex between these two Leith is one hot yummy man who oozes sex . In the second part we see the couple work as a team and the love they share . Both parts are so well written and you will be turning pages well into the night . These can be read alone books but should be read in order cause characters from book one show up in book two. There is BDSM in this book and for mature readers . So if you want a intelligent read with hot sex and romance check it out .

Review

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

As much as I enjoyed the first book in this series, I think I loved this book more. I don't what it is about this installment. If you analyze things, the characters are pretty much similar. The heroes are always isolated men who like their privacy. The heroines are always the brave women who end up finding something that didn't initially think was real. Nevertheless, i quite loved this book.

Maybe it's the fact that the chemistry between the main characters is more obvious and believable in this story. Maybe it's also the fact that the hero and heroine had to overcome big issues and challenges before they got to the HEA. Whatever it is, it made me really love the series now.

This book can be read on its own, but what's there to lose if you checked out the first book too, right? If you enjoy paranormal romance, you should definitely check this series out. I don't think Nina Mason is as popular in PNR as some of my favorite authors, but she does get the job done, so I would surely follow her and continue on with this series.

Oh, the curse of a kiss. A fantasy tale steeped in mythology, composed of depth and layers.

A tale of never-ending contrasts. Atmospheric, dangerous and romantic. With a prophesy...

She wanted to be a screenwriter, she had to become a role-player.
She was extremely shy and inhibited, she wished to be bold and adventurous.
Her stepmother inflicted pain with her cruelty and torture.
He taught her her how fine the line is between pain and pleasure.

He was a warrior, a leader, a risk taker. Now he is a recluse, sharing his company and secrets only with others of his kind and only as necessary.
He is a man afraid to love. He suffered great loss and can not bear to risk his heart again.
Even if you have not read the first amazing book in this series, and I strongly recommend you do not miss it, this book reads well as a stand alone fantasy adventure.
How thin is the veil between Hitherworld and Thitherworld? What keeps the populations apart?
What role does an enchanted chalice play?
A doormat no longer, she will risk everything to break his curse.
She has no idea how daunting her task will become. Her predecessor's eyes had been burnt out.

Roles again reversed, he is the one overcome with fear and doubt.
Can he leave her to the task alone? Can he live with the guilt if he loses another love?
Written with masterful description and creativity. You can skip the adventure if all you are after are blisteringly HOT sex scenes. You can skip the BDSM if you appreciate a heart-pounding adventure with incredible world building and excellent research.

I did receive a copy from Netgalley to review. I am anxious to see where the series goes from here.

A couple of my favorite quotes:

"The man has an ass worthy of a sonnet."
"The gods don't die just because people stop believing in them."
"Worry is a senseless destroyer of inner peace."

“The world fell away. Time stood still. There was only his key winding her up, only the building tension in her spring, only the hammer preparing to strike her chimes.”

Magic, fantasy, BDSM, mythology, and passion, all beautifully blended to create this unique tale of love and liberation.
Gwyn, our heroine, travels to Scotland not only to secure the film rights to a novel but because she felt it was her chance to do something different. Once Leith lays eyes on her he sees an opportunity to engage on some fun BDSM games that he hadn’t had a chance of playing in a long while. What neither of them expected was to fall in love and what started as a playful and erotic encounter for both Leith and Gwyn turned into a quest to save more than their lives; it was a magical adventure that kept me turning the pages and fulfilled my love for all things mythical.
Now, there were a few instances where too many deities and names were thrown in and perhaps the pace of the story lagged a bit but that might have been my problem as I tried to keep up with everything and expecting the pace to always stay the same.
The chemistry between the hero and heroine took a bit of time to take off but I think it was meant to happen that way because they were not in love at the start as it was merely attraction. As the story progressed the attraction was obviously undeniable but there was also something more, something deeper and the connection was finally there, thus the curse took hold.
In addition, I liked that characters from the first book were re-introduced here and some were actually a very important piece to keep the plot moving forward.
Ms. Mason is now a must read for me now and this is a series that I will not pass on and recommend to any fantasy lover adult.

Gwyn has always felt in the wrong era, she's quite shy but loves cosplay, she also has a slight obsession with Leith MacQuill. She's not had is easy, she is a sexual abuse survivor.

Leith is a knight from times gone by, he was made immortal after a near death injury in a historic Scottish war. He has many attributes, dark hair, rugged good looks, some great chivalrous behaviour from being a man from the past and his also into BDSM - he has a dungeon full of toys in a castle - how sexy is that! Leith was made immortal, but not for his own good - it was so he could be a sex slave in Avalon - so his quite understanding.

Leith and Gwyn are deemed to meet, she's off to see him on a bus tour - when it crashes, who else is there to save her but Leith! Gwyn finds it odd that the man who saved her is keeping his distance, what she doesn't know is that she is the spitting image of his long dead wife.

Eventually, these two get together and Leith is more than happy to help her get past some of the issues with sex. The sex scenes are hot, I felt she got over issues a little quickly, then again maybe he used some of his other powers to help!

Gwyn is no fool and believes in faeries and is sure Leith is the real thing - basically, she has her sight set on him and he cannot resist her, surely that's sorted - alas no - he's cursed to not love and anyone he loves dies. They will have to jump through lots of rings to be together.

This is a series so characthers interweave and there is another story bubbling away, but they can easily be read as standalone too.

I liked Leith, his kind and kinky, Gwen finds herself in this book and regains the strength took away from her as a child.

A romp through Scotland with historical and paranormal elements and a sexy romance.

It is only a matter of weeks since I read my first Nina Mason book. Starry Knight is the first in The Knights of Avalon series about a group of Scottish Knights (tall, handsome, well endowed) who gain immortality from the killing fields of bloody battles - Flodden Fields, Bannockburn - to be used as drones...sex slaves...to Morgan La Fae at Avalon. No, not at all nice work if you can get it.

Since Starry Knight I have been gorging on her books till Dark and Stormy Knight was supplied to me by NetGalley in return for an honest review. Honest...my only complaint was the wait.

The heroine, Gwyn, is an intelligent woman already well steeped in stories of fairies and other beings - more Brothers Grimm than Happy Ever After.

Enough about the contents. Ms Mason has taken such care to build this story layer upon layer for you to have the pleasure of picking it apart personally.

I was amazed at the amount of research that had gone in to Starry Knight. Dark and Stormy Knights delivers no less. Dates and places aside down to the tiniest details on period clothes.

Our hero, Leith, tries to avoid romantic entanglements by using his scary dungeon and BDSM to scare off the wrenches. He fails miserably. The sex is good...of course it is...tall, handsome, well endowed with hundreds of years of practice... The idea of BDSM is hmm, nice, but I think he took the same BDSM 101 for soft hearted marshmallows as Christian Gray.

One final complaint. I have finished this book and need the next one now!

This is the second book in the series and I will say, out of the 2, I LOVED this one just a teeny bit more.
Why? One word..Leith.
At first, I didn't care for his closed off attitude. But we eventually find out the reasons behind his demeanor.
Gwen is a very headstrong woman and she knows what she wants. What she wants right now are the screenplay rights to a novel.
She has no idea how far she is going to "travel."
Leith is an obstacle for her. And a Knight is shining armor as it turns out!
He rescues her from a bus crash.
I really liked Leith. I don't know why I was so drawn to his character, but He just screams leading man.

Hot, smart, owns a castle and writes under a female pen name. All of that aside, I think Nina Mason has written
the most desirable male lead! She has such a way with words.
I truly enjoyed this romp into the faery worlds with a Knight to beat all Knights.
It was a quick read for me since I could not put it down!
I think you will completely enjoy the "other" world Mason creates with this series.
I think this book could be read as a stand alone. But the first book is amazing as well! So I suggest reading them both!
I am on pins and needles waiting for the next book!
With Style and beautiful words, the author leads us into this other world and lets us sit and observe
along with her. I felt like I was there!
Beautifully written and really hot to boot!

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

“He much preferred human prey. The blood was sweeter and less gamey, but, in a hamlet like Nairn, rumors spread as swiftly as pox in a brothel.”

“Perhaps Miss Brown hadn’t yet figured out that a man with a hard-on was about as trustworthy as a used car salesman.”

“The stall smelled of whiskey, nicotine, road grime, and farts, with an undertone of sweaty bollocks.”

My Review:

Nina Mason continues to dazzle me with her highly imaginative and creative hybrid genre blending paranormal/erotic/historical/romance. While I tend to avoid anything historical and am rather selective in the paranormal I read, I will gladly put my personal preferences aside and read anything penned by the talented Ms. Mason. In her 2nd installment of the Knights of Avalon series, Dark and Stormy Knight, she has penned yet another steamy book of elegant smut with hits of humor, while teaching us about the Hitherworld and Thitherworld and that fairy tales and mythology are based on truth - which is at once an exciting and scary thought. Ms. Mason’s lush and richly descriptive style paints vivid pictures as well as maintains an active movie reel in my head - while reading and long after I have put my kindle down. I always learn several new words when perusing her books and I walked away from this one remembering with a naughty smile that a condom was referred to as a French Letter, I feel ever so much more clever knowing that.

“He stole a glance at her around the seatback. She was looking out the window at the moon, wearing a dreamy expression. She looked so radiant and brave. And so beautiful his chest hurt to look at her.” – Dark and Stormy Knight, Nina Mason

This second book in Mason’s The Knights of Avalon series is just as charming and steamy as Starry Knight, the first book. This tale revolves around an aspiring screenwriter who is tracking down a romance author for film rights. When Gwyn’s life is in danger, Leith swoops in to save her. It doesn’t take her long to discover that the lord of the manner is actually the romance author she is seeking.

Leith tries to resist falling for Gwyn, relying on BDSM and other methods to indulge in play but not risk his heart. When he finds it unable to resist, an age old curse rises to claim Gwyn’s life. The battle carries them between worlds and before Gods. The fight to save their lives and love brings them closer than ever, but will their love be enough to bring them through, or will they both lose everything?

This book was about a two-night read for me, and I found it to be entertaining and very sensual. I would recommend this book for paranormal romance fans and fans of Nina Mason.

I haven't read any of the books from this series so this for me was a standalone novel and it read well like that.

At first I loathed Leith's character and couldn't get to like him. He was arrogant, cruel and some of his thoughts painted him in quite a selfish picture. But as Gwyn managed to get Leith to admit his true feelings and the history behind his curse came to light I understood why he was like that. He protects himself and anyone crossing his path by being unreachable.

After reading the first few chapters I decided I liked the book, it was a nice enough romance, with some pretty hot scenes in it, but I couldn't quite see where it was going. When Gwyn decides that she is willing to die for Leigh and sets of on a mission to get him rid off the curse the book suddenly got very interesting.

The worlds of druids and the fairy Queen Morgan were fascinating and certainly pictured magical beings in completely different way to our traditional fairy tales. It was a nice point of view and very well written, the imagination went rife and I applaud the author for making this much more then another romance novel.

I will look out for more booked from this author in hope they are as good as this one.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this lovely book in exchange for an honest review.

*Disclaimer: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dark and Stormy Knight by Nina Mason is a sizzling romance packed full of fantasy, which is a combination I can’t resist. The characters are well written, and I easily became attached to them. Leith is a brooding man with an extremely long stroke of bad luck, especially where women are concerned. Despite his curse and the extreme abuse he’s suffered at the hands of the Faery Queen, Leith has a big heart and made me fall in love with him. Gwyn has been ruled by fear her whole life, but when life hands her a second chance, she sets out to change that. Gwyn is a relatable character because she is at once fearful and strong. Mason has created a fantasy world taken from Celtic mythology, which I absolutely love. In addition to a fantastic story with wonderful characters, the romance in this book is hot and there is plenty of it. Sizzling scenes abound, and the chemistry between Gwyn and Leith is definitely erotic. Faeries, druids, old gods, and steamy romance make this book irresistible, and I highly recommend it.

Title: DARK AND STORMY KNIGHT
Series: Knights of Avalon #2
Category /Genre: Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Romance
Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content
Received from: Lyrical Press via NetGalley (in exchange for an honest review)
Grammar/editing: ungraded – book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused

This is the second book in the Knights of Avalon series. Each will stand alone, but it will be best to read them in the order of publication because of the overlaying arc of the stories.

I loved this story. Gwyn has been a timid little mouse her entire life. A history of abuse and neglect has had her finding her comfort by staying in the shadows. My heart was wrapped around her as she fought to finally claim her place in the spotlight. I cheered for her as she recognized that sometimes you can recognize the red flag and decide to be the bull.

Excellently written and researched, Nina Mason is amazing in her ability to weave history and fantasy in a seamless tapestry trimmed in romance.

I was given a complimentary copy for an honest review by author Nina Mason. This is book 2 of her series Knights of Avalon.

Gwyn Morland is on her way to a Scotland castle to show the author her adapted screen play of the authors book but what she gets is far more then what she ever imagined. Leith MacQuill doe not like the tourist who come to his castle but when he is drawn to a tour bus crash and find Gwyn he tries to keep her at arms length because of the curse.

This book has characters of Gwyn and Leith and their interaction makes the whole book a great read. The author provided enough outside interference that you start to root for the couple to succeed in their mission.

Now this book does have BDSM in it so it is for mature paranormal romance book readers. I can't wait to read book 3 to see how it plays out.

Be forewarned: Your Kindle may go up in smoke with this one!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Being a fan of Ms. Mason already, I couldn't resist to see what sort of naughtiness she’d bring with her latest release with Lyrical Press (Kensington). Needless to say I wasn’t disappointed.

Those who enjoyed the whimsy of Karen Marie Moning Highlander series, and appreciate a super hot read, will instantly connect with Dark & Stormy Knight. While this might not be a combination some appreciate, I can assure you, there was never a dull moment. My brand new kindle was nearly ablaze with the intimate moments between Leith and Gwyn.

What’s not to love about a hero who is cursed and tormented at every turn. Not to mention, it’s not likely I'll forget some of the saucy dialogue anytime soon.

Mason. In her second installment of the Knights of the Tarot series, Knight of Cups, she has penned yet another steamy book of elegant smut with hits of humor, while teaching us about the Hitherworld and Thitherworld and that fairy tales and mythology are based on truth - which is at once an exciting and scary thought. Ms. Mason’s lush and richly descriptive style paints vivid pictures as well as maintains an active movie reel in my head - while reading and long after I have put my kindle down.

First of all I love the details and fact that Nina Mason puts into every book, it makes the whole so much better. The writing as always is top of the line!!!
Starry Knight is the first to this series and even though they can be read alone I would suggest reading them in order for the overall total story!
This story revolves around a screenwriter who is tracking down a romance author for film rights, when Gwyn’s life is in danger, Leith jumps in to save her. It doesn’t take Gwyn long to discover that the lord of the manner is really the author she is looking for. With both having an overwhelming attraction for the other they must work through their issues.
I loved this one and cannot wait for more!!!

Gwyn travels to Scotland to secure the film rights to an acclaimed novel written by the elusive Lady Ruthven. Gwyn nearly dies in a bus crash but is rescued by a handsome stranger named Leith. Leith is a shape shifting faery and is cursed, the woman he gives his heart to will die, and therefore he is only looking for someone to join him in his erotic fun. But as they spend more time together, his feelings change and he and Gwyn must travel to the realm of the faeries and end the curse before it is too late. I really liked the story and the characters, I admit I felt the book lagging in certain areas but overall the story held my interest throughout and the chemistry between Gwyn and Leith is hot. Enjoyable read!

This is the first book by Nina Mason that I’ve read and I have to tell you I was not disappointed. She’s now on my go-to reading list.

A strong female paired together with a powerful yet damaged male in an amazing story filled with the right blend of history and myths...awesomesauce! This was a truly great combination and watching Gwyn come into her own and realize she’s not as weak as she had thought was utterly fantab. Ms. Mason created such an interesting read with very captivating characters and an enthralling world that will suck you right in...enjoy the ride ya’ll!

First off let me say that I do not like reading old English proper grammar books. But this book right here I absolutely loved. It took me a few days longer because of the writing but to be honest I don't think it could be written any other way. this is the first book I've read by this author and it will definitely not be my last. This book has a lot of turns and unexpected rivals Orwell turns I would have liked to see how it all ended are they going to live forever or are they both like human or what but altogether I'm contempt on how it all ended and pieced together. But I do wish there was a part 2 in the book.
I received an ARC for my honest review.

I read this as a standalone and I enjoyed it. It was a little slow for me at the beginning and I was a little freaked that Gwyn wasn't freaked out more from Leith. There are some pretty hot steamy scenes. I love the magical world and the different view on it. It was a well written book and the characters are string and supporting. Look forward to reading more.

********************SPOILER ALERT*********************

Sometimes Leith's reactions amuse me, "he scowled at her. “Mind? Why would I mind? I’m the p***k who put it in there.” Hugging his head, she held him against her belly." I liked this book, Leith was strong, sexy and I loved his accent.
