An inquisitive young Humanist asks "How should I live my life?" He finds his answer on a hike with his mother while using the Scientific Method. This delightful and relevant story is a must-have addition to the modern family's bookshelf. A helpful glossary includes definitions for evolution, humanist and the scientific method.
Michelle Iturrate is a mom and a teacher living in Boulder, Colorado. She enjoys travel and the outdoors, but her two sons are her passion. A Humanist, she wrote "How: A Day in the Life of a Young Humanist" to share the message that because this is our one life, it is essential that we make the most of it while taking care of each other and our planet.
Admittedly feel a little dirty giving a rating on the lower end to a children's book. Nonetheless, I think there could have been a bit more to it. Maybe it's just a sign that I'm too grown up :D
I read it and gave it to my 4-year-old nephew as a gift. It's a lovely book for children to learn from an early age about their role in the world and in nature and how we can improve everything if we commit to it, if we only think about our actions and their consequences. The illustrations are beautiful. My nephew may be a little too young to read it himself, but his mom loved it as well and she hopes he will ask her to read it to him over and over again. I think he's set on the right path already.
This book is good not only for it's content but for it illustration. my niece is so excited to read the book with her. Kids really appreciate what the illustration shows and explain more. Thank you for this kind of book. It's good not only for kids but also for kids at heart.
