Orbit: Ian Fleming: The Man Behind James Bond

Rate this book
Bond… James Bond. The fictional character is synonymous with action, intrigue, beautiful women, and maniacal despots bent on world destruction. The life of 007's creator, Ian Fleming, proved to be a template for his greatest creation. Bluewater explores the man behind the myth, or should we say the man who is a myth?

Here is a terrific little comic about the life of Ian Fleming. It's August 1964 & Ian Fleming suffers a fatal heart attack. After his death he meets the shadow of a man.....James Bond 007. Fleming shows Bond many aspects of his life & talks about the similarities between himself & his fictional spy.
Matthew J Elliott certainly knows a lot about Fleming & his research is extremely good. The artwork is also very well drawn & there are plenty of nice moments where Fleming is seen is poses from the James Bond films. There are also various characters from Bond's world that eagle eyed fans will spot along the way. The story also ends on a wonderful note.
A very enjoyable read for huge Bond fans like myself. It would also make an ideal read for anyone with a passing interest in Ian Fleming & James Bond, especially if they don't want to read an in depth book on the author.
For some reason Goodreads only list this as a Kindle version, but I read a "real" printed comic, which can easily be bought online.

Nice idea

A good little pencil sketch of Flemings life
Well presented although a little too brief
Nice use of a phantom bond figure
