Ok, so i'm biased. My dad wrote this one. It's a great read! I've read it a couple of times, but not for several years and I decided that I need to read it again. It's all about finding success through life's transitions, defining personal belief systems, finding and gaining balance, goal setting and understanding yourself and others. Check it out!
Wow! Inner Victory is AMAZING! There were some Chapters that were so inspiring for me that I wanted to essentially make my own study, write a book about it, etc. This book contains the laws and arts of inner success and victory. I highly recommend it to anyone going through a transition in their life. It’s a very very good book and I’ll always keep many of its lessons with me throughout my life. 5 Stars!
I read this book for a class based off of it that I taught. It has good directives and advice, followed up with applicable activities. It is pretty typical of a personal success book. Most the principles can be found elsewhere in one form or another. I wouldn't say it was the best book in it's class and the price to purchase is astronomical which I would like to give it even fewer stars because of when it is a required text for a course. Good information, but nothing unique.
This was a really interesting read. I found that it had a lot of good ideas and look forward to implementing them into my life. The only thing I really didn't like is that there were a few things that seemed to be a bit repetitive.
I originally started this reading as a result of a challenge from my son, whose course of life was emotionally changed after taking the corresponding class in college. I did not read it as I should (I didn't DO the concepts, I only pondered them) or I may have given it 5 stars. This initial read was more about familiarizing myself with something loved by a son than by changing my own life. However, I am at one of my own life crossroads and can definitely see the merit in applying these principles that, though not unique, are definitely solid, true and motivating. I will have to gear up, but I plan on a re-read soon and this time it will be personal.
Henry David Thoreau observed, "I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately, I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life, To put to rout all that was not life and not when I had come to die, discover that I had not lived.” I can imagine that a immersed application of this book would generate similar results.
One of the most influential books I've ever read. I've always known more or less what I wanted, this book just helped me identify exactly what they were and how to go about doing it. I'd recommend it to anyone.
This book is transformative. I took a college course that required me to read this book and do the activities and I can honestly say I wished I had fewer classes so that I could've spent more time on the steps contained in the book. It is quite simply a formula for a better, happier life.
As a therapist, I will say that this is the most thorough, appropriate, and versatile self-help book I have ever read. Anyone who is struggling with anything can recover if they accurately follow the directions and do the assignments in this book. It is amazing!
