This is another edited volume by Blackwell Publishing, virtually identical to the Hendon and Joyce one above, except that it covers the Andean cultures of South America. It's a collection of academic papers written by scholars of different specialties. This is a good introductory work for advanced readers who already have some background in archaeology.
