Kayla Barnes finally found true love and complete happiness … or so she thought. Being married to Mark, the man of her dreams, and having the career she dreamed about as a little girl has finally come true, and Kayla couldn't think of anything more to ask for. That is until the truth about her husband's adulterous ways are revealed. Mark isn't the man that Kayla thought he was, and when his mistress is exposed, her identity will turn Kayla's world upside down. This tale takes you on the Barnes’ marriage ride; where truths are revealed, secrets are exposed, and loyalty is tested. Kayla quickly learns that all vows aren't good vows, and everything that glitters isn't gold. In the end, people aren't who they say they are, family isn't blood, and friendship means nothing.
A little predictable with who "she" was but the story held my attention well. I felt like the ending was a bit...blunt. It felt kind of like you smacked into the wall because you thought there would be a little more to it, but nope, the end. Either way, I really enjoyed Kayla and Mark's story and proud of how strong Kayla was, even when it looked like she wasn't. I'll definitely be reading the next installment.
This was a very interesting read. It held my attention from beginning to end. I am glad that Kayla stuck to the decision that she made. She was a bit naïve at first, but eventually she began to see her husband for who he really was. I was totally shocked to find out who he was having his affair with. I won't say anything else, because I don't want to spoil if for other readers. This is a must read, just to find out who the other woman is. Great job with this one A. Macklin. I look forward to reading more of your work in the near future.
Great book story flowed great, although there were a couple of errors I still gave this one five stars because the excellent storyline made up for the errors. Poor Kayla her husband was just a dog in the two years they were together before they got married she didn't know he was a low down dirty dog. The best friend that's a whole different story right there. Great job on this on
This is a really good read. It has drama, the illusion of one sided love, crazy characters and an off the chain spouse. I was able to figure out pretty quickly where the deceit was coming from. I would have liked to see main heroine have a stronger personality. I recommend this read. This was my first read by this author, but I'm sure it won't be the last.
WoW, the trifling stuff that Mark has done to Kayla is through the roof!! I don't know if I want to feel sorry for Stephanie because of her mental illness or I want Kayla to jack her up, she did the ultimate violation! ! I really wish the author would have done a Epilogue and showed how Kayla has moved on to another man. Great Read, I just hate Kayla went through soo much in this book.
Just an ok read, there wasn't really anything very exciting about this book just basic stuff guy cheat on wife like always and wife finds out and wan to leave. I am happy that Kayla left that loser though, I mean dam mad signs were there, anywho I'm not sure I will be reading book 2.
Kayla was so naive to the point that she didn't realize the hints Stephanie was giving her that she was the other woman. Mark realized everything you touch ain't gold. Now you on the outside looking in. Wondering if there will be a part 2?
The story line was great amazing! I really thought the book was going to end differently but loved how it ended! Can't wait to see if there will be a second book ☺️
This book had me seeing flames. I wanted to hurt Mark in the worst way. He was a low down dog who didn't deserve Kayla. Stephanie was supposed to be her friend, but she was deceitful also. Kayla needs to stop all that crying and move on.
Mark needs to be smacked. His wife was there for him from day one. He was thinking with the wrong head. I hope Stephanie gets the help she needs. I can't believe Stephanie would do something like that to Kayla. Kudos to Kayla for asking for the divorce.
This was a great read from start to finish. I enjoyed every page and it kept me guessing from start to finished. I have to say that the author did a great job. I recommend this great read to anyone.
This was a very good read that held my attention from beginning to end. It was my first read by this author and I was very impressed. Great stand alone.
