WOW! Not quite as hot as some novels, (more than a lot of novels), but there is a sex scene pretty often. That being said, if one has ever experienced that really intense sexual attraction with a person, it is pretty realistic also - you know the times you just have to be physically touching the other person. The story line is a realistic one and the old age story of mixing business with pleasure is a difficult scenario to pull off. Miles is local to our area and is a wonderful speaker and her personality is a nice plus for book talks. I look forward to more from her pen.
This novel was a bit hard to get into as the beginning had a slow start and began with introductions to the characters. I do believe that these introductions are necessary though and the suspense definitely did start to build after Kasey went to L.A. By the end there was so much action and I kept wanting to continue reading till I finished the book. I thought that Kasey and Joshua's romance was a little hasty and that it seemed doomed from the start. Heather Miles threw in plenty of wrenches with Joshua's brother, Jake and the homewrecker Megan. Poor Kasey had so many things thrown at her by the end I'm not sure how this was going to play out for her relationship.
Although this novel was well written, I did find several grammatical errors throughout it. The format is written with Joshua and Kasey's viewpoints and interactions being written every other chapter, which was something to get used to. I felt that sometimes this made things feel repetitive hearing it from both characters, just in their own version of events. I found that this novel included a lot of intimate interactions between Kasey and Joshua. At times I felt this took away from their romance and the story. It does display the point that they are passionately in love and can't get enough of each other though. By the end, this novel makes you want to read the next installment to find out what happens because of such a climactic, cliffhanger ending.
I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
What an incredible book! From the moment that KK literally falls into the arms of Josh, the reader's heart is set ablaze for these two to end up together. Fate would bring them together on more than one occasion. This romance novel, though quite graphic is tasteful. Imagine yourself as a strong and independent, "cut throat" business woman and all of a sudden, your life is turned upside down by an unintentional love affair. Merging two businesses is just one of the mergers that would occur within the pages of this book. Meeting with the remainder of the Crawford family in LA was a turning point for KK. Leaving the merger meeting early to meet up with Josh, whom she has no idea that he is also one of her new business partners, KK loses sight of all of her inhibitions. The heat is tangible between these two characters. Unfortunately, we see how vulnerable women can be when they are in love. Turmoil and unintended events cause a downward spiral in KK and Josh's relationship. Sadly, we see the vulnerability and the way some women run away when a slight challenge arises. Some may feel that it is crazy and circumstantial to run instead of trying to work things out. However, in this situation, KK knows that she is in a bind due to the fact that she was attempting a relationship with her business partner. Mixing business with pleasure is not always the best idea. I can not wait to read further in this series! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Merger. This book was interesting. I enjoyed the plot of the story but it took the whole book to get to the challenging part. Kasey and Josh found themselves falling in love but would that cause problems with the merger of their two companies? Kasey was apprehensive about it. Josh assured her nothing or no one would come between them. Josh was wrong. Josh and Kasey had an awful lot of sex considering they just met. I look forward to the next book to actually see what happens. I received this book in return for an honest review.
I won this book through the Group Erotica Anniversary event.
I loved this book. I dont know why people rated this book lower. I dont know because i like the story. It was very different for me which I loved. I loved reading the setting. I enjoyed tge characters and there were some parts melted my heart. I would have wanted more information from the book but otherwise the story is good and the sex scenes are hot.
I liked this story enough to buy book 2-- and that is saying something.
There are several editing errors that became annoying which took the book down to 4 stars instead of 5. A few slow spots and a couple "get over it" eye rolls happened, but expected for a 3 novel book series.
The sex is mild, predictable, believable and oh so good.
The relationship building is done sensibly and the story flow is believable. I like the story and plan to continue.
A contemporary romance built from a business merger. CEO fathers are grooming their children, a son and a daughter, to take over their respective companies when they merge together. Of course the children have to be attracted to each other, right? Besides being cliche and predictable for me, it was a good story.
Another one that I thought was a complete story and find out it doesn't end here. Was a good story, but sounds like it is going to be some really jealous, insecure woman who cannot trust enough to believe in love.
Wow loved this book. Kasey and Josh 's up and down relationship. What a story. You kept me hanging on. You have a new reader for life. Thank you for an amazing story.
