I want to own her. I want to breathe her. I want to see her smile. I want to see her cry. But, more than anything, I want to watch as panic seizes her immobile. I need to see the look on her face when she realizes the man in the the coffee shop, the same man she couldn't spare a second glance at, is the one who will love her so fiercely that she'll never be the same.
Ever read a book that is IMPOSSIBLE to categorize? This one is sure to appease many reading tastes! There was a little bit of everything: suspense, drama, crime, humor, fluffy romance, and a dark edge. All together these elements made up one great debut by the author.
Abby works at a shelter under the supervision of her boss, Jake. Jake is a charming, intelligent, and overall nice guy plus an amazing single dad. Little does Abby know she's caught the attention of an unnamed stalker who knows her life almost better than she does; as Abby navigates job challenges, a new relationship, and other issues the stalker is watching and contributing to the events in her life.
What I loved about this book was its overall tone; this book made me happy to read it. The characters were vivid and dynamic- we as the readers were so engulfed in their lives that I felt the emotions of each character come through the pages and really connected with them. Plus as an added the bonus the pets, Ozzy Prince of Barkness and Oreo, were actual characters- not just a pet in the story. They had their own journey to tell. I found this very unique.
I won't let him get to me with his cat Jedi mind tricks. ~Jake
What prevented my last star was the "insta" dynamic and I wanted more juice. I just couldn't connect that Abby's relationship would turn so serious so fast- and Abby's contribution to a funeral seemed unrealistic to me (no one is that nice) or maybe it's just me?
I also wanted MORE from the stalker and wanted to know his story, his background, and his motivations. Who is he? Why? What's his plan? Has he done this before?
Overall, I enjoyed this read and recommend it to readers of numerous genres. This is the perfect book to read when you're waiting at the airport or just relaxing outside with a fruity drink. The ultimate escape- you'll laugh, you'll fret, you'll maybe cry? and you'll love reading how adorable the pets are.

When you finish a book, set it down for a second, look around the room and realise the shitload of crazy that you just went through BUT they were just words on pages... Everything around you is the same, aside from the shifting positions of my two puppies that can't seem to ever find that perfect sleeping spot. Every fucking thing is the same EXCEPT your mind has turned into a crazy sense of WTF. Yes. Obsession should come with a warning of not being able to be the same again once you flip that last damn page.
It had that unexpected but unique element of making a romantic and sexy as fuck story, with heartbreak and a fully smiling face of a reader, into something so addictive but weird? I mean, it had the creepy factor of the stalker that made every last smile, laugh, heartache and panty dropping moment, to suddenly stand still!!
Take quote above is JUST a small glimpse into the world that Alice C. Hart created with something that I don't think I have read before. It was so interesting to see how a simple love story can be turned into a fucking mystery/murder/creep show that bought goosebumps every time I was reading from the Stalkers POV.
Every time the Stalker is in the spotlight, I turn the lights a little brighter and cosy up to my little dogs.. No kidding. I couldn't believe how the change in writing his POV affected the entire story and how I felt with what seemed like an ordinary day/life between Abby + Jake + Izzy - Jake's most adorable daughter!
I cannot get over how well this was done, but more than anything, I was so surprised but how AFFECTED I WAS. Every good book affects us in any and/or every way possible, but with Obsession I couldn't understand how strong the creepy factor was even though it was for the duration of a few spread out chapters.
My jaw literally dropped every time the word 'pay', 'murder' or 'disappear' came into view during the Stalkers mindset. Mhm. It was that bad. I couldn't go down the stairs without turning on every fucking light there was. Just a warning, unless you want to experience the MAXIMUM EFFECT of the chill + creep factor - don't read this book at night time or when you're alone. I promise you, you will be thanking me later.
Before I spoil anything else, let's move on to the sexy but cute romance between Jake who is Abby's boss that works at the homeless shelter.
I wont want to give too much away but just know that you might fall for the little girl that can only be described as the most adorable daughter!! Jake is not only a handsome, drop dead sexy, with a body FULL of every sin a girl could ever imagine, but he has a daughter that is his twin basically. Just too cute for words.
Smiling at the Izzy moments was as easy as breathing. Add the Prince of Barkness to the mix and you have yourself a grinning idiot with a heart full of fuzzy feels. Yes I did just say "fuzzy feels", so fucking what? Hahah Just read the damn book and you'll see what I am trying to say ;)
Mix a cute kid and a dog + cat with some sexy characters, not to mention the Stalker that will always remind me to have eyes at the back of my head, you have a story that will get you obsessed and addicted.
One part that I wasn't so head over heels with, the smoking.. Every time something hard is thrown their way, both Jake and Abby take a break and smoke. I have absolutely nothing against people smoking or using drugs, but I just didn't feel that it was necessary to do it so often? It did add an important element to the story, it's great, but I personality didn't find it so appealing.
That is all though. That's the only negative thing, and you might not think that or you might agree. But one thing is for sure. You HAVE to, NEED to delve into Obsession. No doubt. Pick it up and you won't be sorry that you might be a little wounded when it comes to sleeping or being alone...
In a random way, reading this reminded me of the song Closer by Nine Inch Nails? Ever since I heard that song a few years back, I couldn't think but connect rough sex scenes with it, it was even mentioned in a book just before a chapter full of steamy scenes. Linking it to Obsession, that's exactly how I would describe the story in a nut shell if I could.
It has that raw element that the Stalker incorporates but at the same time, all throughout we get a fun but very realistic idea of the ups and downs in a relationship.

Obsession is an easy read but it has so many interesting and unique elements that will make it the type of story that will had obsession as an understatement. I read it within a couple of sitting, but couldn't have easily done it in one if I had time.
Go, grab your copy, turn on 'Closer' and get ready to be submitted into a haunting, sexy and all round fun story. Watch out for the ending though. NEED the next one asap!!

Amazing Debut by Alice C Hart . This book had some of everything I love . A creepy ass stalker who I find hot as h#ll , Some strong ass bitches who are there for each other . Jake let's not forget Jake and Kevin holy hell . Every page keeps you wanting more . Alice better be kicking a@@ working on book 2 because now I need it like yesterday. This is so much more then 5 stars

this book really takes you for a ride!!! the first thing that grabbed me by the balls (the figuratively balls I have) is the cover. let's admit it, we have all in us a bit of a voyeuristic tendencies in us so this is off the charts hot, and to add to that the kick ass red with the grey ... I'm hooked.
This book is as real as it gets ... if you ain't ready for it the you better buckle up cause we are riding high from page one ;)
Its a story about Abby and Jake and their relationship and growing into being a couple and all that goes with it concerning their jobs, families and friends, pets !!!, everyday stuff and a stalker (everyday stuff right LOL). and I have to tell you - you haven't read anything like this EVER !!!
you have the stalker angle to watch through and its the thrill/twisted/sicko angle that keeps you hooked and wondering what its limits are (if any) and where it will take the book next.and let me tell you - its never what you think it will be.
then you have Jake (holly molly that man can mmmmmmmmmmmm) that knows how to play a woman's body like a pro hahhahaha and has the funniest dog there is ;)
" All the lines I’ve heard by men are a means so they can get off. I believe Jake’s words, and the look on his face tells me he is absolutely serious. "
Abby is as real as they get and you won't "see" her sugarcoating it ... no, sir. not her. and what's best when reading a book is having a real connection to the characters and going "yup, I can see this happening too!!" or "yup, I would do it like that".
My grandmother was only thirty-eight when I was born, and told my mother that I must be part devil for being born at 3:33 a. m. - she’s referencing that 666 stands for the Devil’s number and that clearly I will be half a little devil. She is sixty-seven now and still believes I am, in fact, half a little devil. Bless her heart.
and its just THAT that this book is, something so real so down to earth that you can see yourself or someone you know doing this or saying that and its what makes this story so relate-able for readers.

I'm suppose to believe Abby is 29 and Jake is in his 30s, they seem like naive teenagers. Their internal monologues had me rolling my eyes so much in just the first 8% that I am afraid to go on in fear that my eyes may actually roll into the back of my head and never return. I have seen so many great reviews and it sounds like some great twists are in this story but I just can't get past how many times I have already rolled my eyes in just the FIRST 8%.

Loved this debut novel from Alice C. Hart! The first thing about this book that grabbed my attention was that it's about a stalker. Anything with a stalker involved, I'm in! The cover is perfect for the story. The main character Abby is awesome. She's funny, sweet and has the best group of friends! I was really happy to see how her character developed throughout the story. Her love interest Jake was amazing! He was so sweet and sexy. The sex between the two was hot as hell!! But my favorite character of all was the stalker! Maybe it's just me but there was just something about him haha. The ending made me want to scream cuz I need to know more! Overall, obsession was a really good book and I can't wait to read more from Alice!

A story of friendship, love, a comical cat, and one twisted obsession!!
I absolutely loved this book and how fully twisted and yet completely complex and full of emotions the story was…The creepiness factors of the events in some cases were off the charts, give you shivers…And yet within this story is such a friendship and on top of that is a story of falling in love. The friendship with the women will have you wishing for friends like them. The love story is so sweet and full of understanding, acceptance, and support. But Oh.My.God. the little animal provides just the best moments of hilariousness that I have read in a long time….and he is so unique and yet you will shake your head at how goofy/quirky he is. Abby and Jake are just explosive once they get together, and the ‘co-worker’ aspect just makes it a bit of a forbidden kind of passion. Holy Hades, their chemistry just heats the pages to the point you want to combust right along with them. You can’t deny how good they are together and how beautiful the lust/love story becomes. You will smile when they are together and feel the tension of the events as they unfold, as their bond/love becomes stronger.
The group of Abby’s friends is as unique as this story is, they are wild and crazy and totally funny. The ladies have one another’s backs, more than most sisters would, and in fact you would think of this group of women as one big sisterhood. They are off the charts with their colorful comments and hilarious one-liners. And being a smoker, I was totally ‘social-smoking’ right along with them! LOL
The Obsession is with Abby…and when the ‘stalker’ makes a mistake by leaving a bit of evidence in her apartment, the whole story takes off. From the camera feeds from her apartment to his infiltrating her workspace, this obsession gives the reader and inside view into the mind of this unhinged individual. A twist towards the end leaves a WTF moment that will have your mouth hanging open and breathless.
I completely recommend this for someone looking for a uniquely fun but suspenseful read…this offers friendship, love, a comical cat, and one twisted obsession. A #mustread #oneclick that will leave you obsessing over #Obsession!
I absolutely loved this book and how fully twisted and yet completely complex and full of emotions the story was…The creepiness factors of the events in some cases were off the charts, give you shivers…And yet within this story is such a friendship and on top of that is a story of falling in love. The friendship with the women will have you wishing for friends like them. The love story is so sweet and full of understanding, acceptance, and support. Abby is a twenty-something, outgoing, no-nonsense, weed-smoking chick. She works at a homeless shelter, and has a group of best friends who are more like sisters.
Jake is a supervisor at the shelter where Abby works. He’s divorced and father to a beautiful 3 year-old daughter. He and Abby have flirted back and forth for years, and after an incident at the shelter involving Abby, Jake decides to ask her out. Surprisingly, as cautious as they’ve tried to be with their feelings, Jake and Abby find themselves falling in love. Their relationship seems to be progressing nicely. Jake’s ex-wife isn’t happy about this, and he doesn’t care. His daughter adores Abby, and he couldn’t be happier.
Unbeknownst to the happy couple, Abby has a stalker. He has been following her for quite a while. He has studied her, her routines, and her close friends. He wants her for his own, but Jake’s unexpected appearance in Abby’s life upsets him. He needs to get rid of Jake, and any other obstacles that stand in the way of him and Abby.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s told from three different points of view: Abby, Jake, and the stalker. I liked getting in the heads of these three.
There are quite a few twists and surprises, and there is a cliffhanger at the end. I hope the sequel isn’t too far away.

Obesession is a book that I was not expecting. I love any book that has a stalker in it and there are so many to choose from now days. But Alice stays true to herself and her readers by keeping this one different and taking you on a heck of a ride. I really appreciate how original she is with this one.
Abby's stalker is not your everyday stalker type in my opinion and boy is he just creepy. He thinks he has everything down that there is to know about Abby and her lifestyle but he never expects the changes that will soon happen in her life and it throws him off, which leads us to follow the twist and turns of this fabulous story.
Abby is single, has a good job, loves her cat and a great bunch of friends that are her family. Jake has been her boss for while and there has been sexual tension between the two. When that is finally acted on, it turns into so much more for them. I also loved his daugher Izzy and dog Ozzy. They were both so stinking cute. Abby's Stalker is trying his best to put a stop to this relationship and take Abby for his but things start to get out of hand. It's kind of funny to watch things play out for him honestly because the outcome so far isn't at all what he had in mind. There's just so much I loved about this story and I can't wait for the second book to see where it goes.

This story threw me for a loop! This author was definitely fresh. A different type of love story shown from an obsessive stalker. But not only did we get one Heck of a love story about Jake and Abby, but the twist was a mysterious and at times crazy man who enjoys thoroughly watching women. But mostly one in particular. And he will stop at nothing to try and bring Abby closer to him.
"He looks like he is on a mission, for what, I’m not sure, but here he comes. He grabs my face with both hands and kisses me like his life depends on it. I willingly return the sentiment. Did he just growl? Oh my. He presses himself into me and I feel his cock straining and I know he wants more. I grind my pelvis into him. Take that baby! Two can play at this game and I’m always the winner!"

Awesome Debut Novel!
I've never claimed to take my reading too seriously. I like to mix it up - serious, funny, sexy, dark you name it. I just love to read great books.
This book is not like anything I have ever read before! It's written from both the two main characters Abby and Jake as well as The Stalker.
I loved how it was all of the above- serious, funny, sexy and dark. The characters are real people that I would no doubt have as my friends (all but The Stalker I hope). They don't have perfect language, perfect bodies - they have real lives, kids, exes you name it. The plot had some great twists and turns throughout and the characters are all very well developed. Their personalities shined right through the pages and I LOVE that!
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Sit back- relax and just enjoy it! You will be glad you did.
This is The Stalker Series Book 1 and from what I hear the next book is already well underway so hold onto your seats and enjoy a great series by a great debut author! Bravo Alice C. Hart! I can't wait to find out what happens next!

From the moment I started reading this book I knew it was going to be an all in one from romance to suspense! I love the hot sex scenes yet also loved the creepiness from the stalker! One of my favourite characters was the stalker himself, you never knew what he was going to do next and it kept you on edge! I wanted to know more and more what the stalker was thinking and what he was going to do next to get Abby. The book was hilarious I often broke out in laughter and couldn't help myself! I'm already excited to read the second book and can't wait to see what the stalker is going to do next! 10 STARS!!!

What a fantastic book!
The story captured my attention from the beginning. With an interesting plot, suspenseful and thrilling, funny, romantic and full of life, the characters are so real, I almost felt I knew each one of them.
Abby and Jake's relationship is great, they fit together so well, but there's always something or someone trying to get them apart. There are some serious hot sex scenes too... and a dangerous stalker that will not give up until he gets what he wants.
Can't forget the badass friends, funny characters that made me laugh out loud and a dog that will melt your heart.
Seriously, can't wait for #2 in this series!

If you love Indie Authors, you will love Alice C. Hart! Alice writes in such a way that you can 'hear' her reading you her story! This book is full of humor, romance, love, suspense, and yeah, ok, SEX. I loved it! This is a book that once you start, you will find yourself reading one more chapter. Consider yourself warned! This book was my Obsession!!!
I really enjoyed this book. I really liked the story behind it. Jake and Abby what a great coupling, and Izzy what a sweetheart, and then you have the stalker who sometimes I feel like he has a heart, but then it evident he doesn't. Can't wait for the next book.

Holy shit. That was pretty good. I mean it could have been more of the stalker and less about those two having a great love from the get go. Maybe I a just jaded but I like people to actually suffer! Also there had better be a second book soon!!!!!

This is the first book that i have read from Alice and it wasn’t bad. I liked how it caught my attention and i like how it was told in different POV’s, i like knowing what the characters thought and how they react. It flowed right on through till the very end. It was a bit dark yet sexy and it had some sweet in it as well, well in the beginning. I’m glad i got the chance to read this book. If you like dark books with stalker men and with a crazy twist. Then you have to read this book.
Abby is a hard chick that likes to get high every now and again, she works at the homeless shelter helping out with things. Her and jake flirt back and forth every now and again and one day he took her home. Things got heated and she finds out that he likes her quite a bit and she likes him. But she cant have kids. She is a tough girl.

WTF!!! How could it just end like that!! There's not even a release date down for book two either. Seriously WTF! Feel like I've been fucked sideways and left on the floor to pick myself up!
Absolutely loved this book! Great character relationships/chemistry. Felt like everyone had their own little stories, even the pets. Loved Abby and Jake (and of course little Izzy!). Lots of laugh out loud moments with Abby and her bitches, everyone needs friends like these.
The whole way through I just kept wanting to know what happens next. I needed to know! Loved that it was told from 3 pov's, Abby, Jake and Stalker - this guy was just nuts, but I want more from him.
Also loved the Bright Side plug (another freaking amazing book!).

Holy shit, that was intense, insane, awesome, and amazing. It's a book that will stay with you, stick to your bones and make you smile all while looking over your shoulder. I couldn't put it down, I had to but didn't want to.
An amazing debut, one of the best I have read.
