What if you really could automate and perpetuate your entire sales process, and literally makes sales while you slept at night? Well, thanks to modern marketing automation tools (along with a handful o carefully crafted email messages), making sales while you sleep is not only possible... it's downright simple! In the Invisible Selling Machine, entrepreneur, Ryan Deiss, walks you through all 5 phases of the prospect/customer lifestyle, and shows how each step can be automated and perpetuated to invisibly convert strangers into friends, friends into customers and customers into raving fans. This book is for startup founders, small business owners, marketing professionals, consultants, service professionals, authors, speakers, and even brick and mortar butcher, baker and candlestick makers. In short, if you want to grow your business and your customers just happen to have an email address... ...this book is for you.
This short book instructs you in the art of sending those annoying emails that I always delete. I guess they work in enough cases to make it worthwhile, though, because Mr. Deiss is very successful and "earning money while he sleeps," which I haven't been able to figure out -- so clearly he knows something that I don't. The book reads like one of those emails -- it's all, "in a minute I'll tell you how to do X which will make you a zillionaire in 8 seconds." Just tell me, for heaven's sake.
OK, so I don't get it. The 5 steps to earn money while you sleep, just for reference are to send emails that 1)indoctrinate; 2)engage; 3)ascend (i.e. up-sell); 4)segment; and 5)win back if you lost 'em. Good luck to everyone who figures out how to EMWYS. I'll be the one still working.
In his book, "Invisible Selling Machine," Ryan Deiss offers some excellent suggestions for developing an effective email marketing campaign. The book is easy to ready and highly informative. My only criticism is that there are a number of typos and missing words which interrupt the flow of the book. Because of these errors, there were times when I had to go back and re-read sections to understand the author's message. Still, Mr. Deiss' ideas seem very useful and I will be testing many of them in the upcoming months.
A star for taking the effort to pull together quite a number of use cases to illustrate each of his points. Another star for the simplistic overview of how the marketing process can work for amateurs marketers, self-starters and entrepreneurs.
It is, however, exactly what these two stars represents - an overly simplified view of today's marketing landscape with numerous repetitions of superfluous examples and reminders. The provided templates are good for readers who have no clue how to start or what to Google for, when developing their own marketing plans.
Only recommended for readers with little or no marketing experiences.
And make sure you adjust the suggested email subject lines: a) They're not very good, b) Hundreds of companies use these exact same lines (and email copy)
Too short for the cost. The email copy was very salesy and sort of cheesy and not what I would personally use. 3-stars though for generally introducing the world of email marketing and providing some decent ideas to build upon.
Good Book. Over promises a bit, though the processes and tactics discussed are pretty good . To the experienced user it may sound like common sense, for the new entrants ,it would mean a lot.
So much good information and examples here. Best book I’ve read as far as the actual nuts and bolts of email marketing. Pairs perfectly with How to Write Copy That Sells.
This books seems like a great solution to marketing but soon your in a scammy funnel that practices what it preaches... To many emails to really build a meaningful relationship.
This is an excellent introduction to Digital Marketer's email marketing methodology. IMO a must read if you want to learn about email marketing best practices.
Digital Marketer is definitely one of the most sources of digital marketing information in the industry, and I've been reading and consuming their content like crazy. I recommend you do the same.
In this book, they go over the "Machine", aka their email marketing strategy.
Their email marketing strategy has 5 different aspects to it-
1. Indoctrinate- Introduce new leads to you and your brand, and turn strangers into friends.
2, Engage- Talk to your leads about what interests them, and encourage them to buy a relevant product or service.
3. Ascend- Welcome new customers and clients, and then upsell.
4. Segment- Learn what they want to hear about and what they might want to buy next.
5. Re-Engage/Win back- Bring them back when the relationship has gone cold or they've fallen out of touch.
The book covers each strategy in depth, and also provides many real life examples.
Also, the book covers lead magnets and landing pages and gives you a good overview of best practices for them as well.
Great overview level read. Read both this and Jeff Walker's Launch and you'll be ahead of 90% of the competition in terms of email marketing strategy.
This was a great book for anyone building an email list, and doing email marketing. The elements of this book have been tried, tested, and proved. You can save so much money, and then make so much money, simply by reading this book and putting it into practice. If you, or your company are not using the "Invisible Selling Machine" for email marketing you are missing out on huge potential. I am just building my list now, but I see huge potential. This has been a great book, and it's been hard to keep to myself and not share with anyone who I know is using email marketing to grow their business.
The funny thing is that I used to subscribe to Deiss' newsletter and quickly unsubscribed because his emails were too annoying--too frequent and too much like digital infomercials. But I bought and read this book anyway because I was hoping to get at least one little tidbit from it. Just one thing that I could use to improve my email marketing. And as it turns out, I ended up getting several little ideas and things to try. So for that reason, it was worth the quick read.
Good practical, actionable advice for anyone whose business needs to attract and convert website traffic into email subscribers and customers/clients. It's 101-level in many respects and is, in itself, a lead magnet for Ryan's online training programs however the Indoctrinate, Engage, Ascend, Segment, Re-Engage process alone is reason enough to read (study!) this book.
If you've just signed up for infusionsoft than this is a great place to start. The strategies feel a little spammy at first but you can build in some personal outreach as tasks. I've also been checking out the blog and be warned its a little different than the book.
All in all, I'm glad I read this as I onboard with IS.
I liked this book alot. It's focused on one key topic - email marketing - and gives you a clear plan to put into action. If you use email to reach customers and make sales then this will give you a sound foundation to get better results.
This is an excellent book on email marketing. If you're interested in the topic, definitely check out this book as it has a different spin on it than most people have. at first, it seemed cumbersome, but it makes perfect sense now.
Great overview of automated email marketing. It's not everything you need to know, but it definitely demonstrates the overall science and structure of striking relationships with your subscribers. Well done, Ryan!
Great book. Email is no longer a mass marketing tool. We need to practice personalization and segmenting. Ryan gives us a ton of great direction. Application will be a challenge.
tsja. niet mis, maar beetje van die pushy toestanden. Maar je kan de informatie natuurlijk ook anders gebruiken. Want werken doet het wel merkte ik al.
