EN I usually give myself more time between volumes of the same series, but I'm enjoying this one so much I just couldn’t wait.

I must admit I’m quite surprised by this series’ rating on Goodreads — I don’t understand why it isn’t higher. While it’s clearly not a literary masterpiece, it’s still a really fun read.

I really like the concept behind the series: a race of modern vampires that dominates society but has grown weak over time due to their closeness to humanity and distance from their more primal nature.

Even at this stage, Marini’s artwork was already fantastic.

Dufaux has gained my trust to the point where -even if it's totally out of my wheelhouse- I'll still read it if it's basement priced. Just like Van Hamme, the other Belgian tome factory, there is always quality it the script somewhere that makes it worth the time. Here it was a few pertinent philosophical points about power and a continual carousel of strong egos leveraging their aims.

Specifically, he nearly always stirs sensuality into the narrative and lets it flourish with the aid of artists who deny no details which is appreciated by hedonist types such as myself.

So, though over-genred and too voluptuous for my tastes, I'm glad that I bought in.

Silti blacksadmäistä urbaanimiljöötä on kaunis katsella.

This volume provides us with an insight of who the raptors are, and where they come from.
But as to Lenore seems to be getting to caught up in the drama, we are no longer sure who the bad guy really is. Prepare for nudity.

The vampire power group track down the young man they believe is their saviour, Aznar Akeba. He’s at college and appears to be physically strong; lifting a bully football jock with one hand. His sense of justice is already set, as well. The day group tell him (and us) the backstory. Hungry for more power, the group votes to give up carnage and to face the day. Their leader is Don Miguel Y Certa and we see - with a haircut - he is still their leader. Now, he calls himself Do Santo.
One member opposes it, Don Molina.
Whatever you decide, know that my nights will always be more beautiful than your days.

The group attack his castle, and murder him. With his last breath, he curses them. His wife Donna Anna, sets herself on fire. Their twins are nowhere to be found. [ah-ha]
The inquisitor who did the deed takes a portrait of Anna with whom he is obsessed. [ooh. He’s the guy Drago killed in book1. Drago took the photo of the portrait.]
The curse is coming true. They all develop the cyst and the process is accelerating. Now members are dying of blood diseases and leukaemia which is unheard of.
Aznar calls the twins ‘the raptors’.
Do Santo gives him Molina’s sword to strike them down. He tells him it was left with his mother’s dead body and is a gift for Aznar. [dude, they took the sword and left you to grow up alone in the slums. They are dicks. Don’t trust them.]
Spiaggi and Lenore are on the run, but still getting reports from trusted friends. Lenore confronts Do Santo and afterwards is picked up in the bar by Camilla who takes her to bed. The twins share her *fans self* but Drago won’t let Camilla turn her.
The next day Lenore is betrayed by an unexpected source.
