BBW + hot werewolf bodyguard + undercover action (and action under the covers) = one unforgettably sexy story!
Lucy had everything a woman could want: a good family and a good job. All she needed was… Nope, she had everything she needed. Sure, a boyfriend might be nice, but she didn’t need one. She didn’t need anything more.
She definitely didn't expect a surprise inheritance. Or the hot bodyguard her father hired to keep her safe. And she really, really didn't expect her sexy bodyguard to be a werewolf.
Jason had his hands full being Alpha to his own werewolf clan. He didn't need more complications in his life, and he definitely didn't need a mate. But when the opportunity comes up to help out a friend and cement the clan alliance he’d been planning, he jumps at the chance…and runs straight into Lucy.
Sparks fly between him and the beautiful woman he must protect, but she has no idea what the handsome stranger from the West Coast is hiding. But how could Jason resist his desire for dark, curvy Lucy, the clan's new Queen?
Undercover Alpha is a standalone BWWM werewolf romance. No cliffhangers!
Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!
While series should ideally be read in order, all of Zoe’s books are standalones and can be read in any order. This includes books within series.
There were a couple of things that annoyed me with this book. First was an editing error. In two places, there was a whole section which was repeated and made me feel like I was stuck in a time loop. Secondly, Lucy was far too quick to believe in things. How many times have you looked at a dog, recognized it as a man you met the day before, and concluded that he must be a werewolf? Just like that. The character knew nothing of the existence of werewolves. Why would she jump to that conclusion? Even though the book is paranormal, there still needs to be some realism about the characters' behaviour.
The book has a decent enough story and it's a reasonable read. The characters do need developed a bit more though and the book needs more depth. Jason may be a werewolf but there is nothing alpha-like about him. He needs to be developed to show what makes him an alpha. The dialogue was clumsy at times and the uncle's story had too much unnecessary information and made that section of the book a little dull.
Overall, it's an okay book and not a bad read, but it does need some work.
Great Story and A Wonderful Love Story. OVER 18+ Reading
I really enjoyed Jason's and Lucy's love story. Jason as an alpha trying to make an alliance with another alpha who dies. Now how can he handle the unknowing werewolf descendants. One of whom is the new Queen, but which one? How to protect them till he can figure it all out and tell them.(more like convince them) Really fun story.
I absolutely LOVE all of your books. They are heartwarming and precious and beautiful. I think I'm about at 53 right now. I love them all. I'm so happy that you're such a great writer. Each book is different, and yet it has the feeling of finding a place in this world to be good with. Thank you so much. I see you..
Undercover Alpha by Zoe Chant. Lucy and her 2 sisters had inherited a large sum of money from an uncle they didn’t know they had and there was a lot more to it than that. What they don’t know is that they carry the werewolf gene and Jason who has been hired as a bodyguard is an alpha werewolf. Lucy is a female alpha known as the Queen and Jason is her mate.
Just not quite right. Proofing errors were too prolific and this just had the feel of a new authors work. Jerky sentence structure stoped the flow of the story. The p,it was interesting but the delivery failed.
This was such a great book I love shifter books she didn't know much about shifters let alone being the queen for them she thought he would go for her other sister but it's her that's meant to be queen right by his side
Interesting to call themselves werewolves instead of shifters. I liked the story. Nice to see a plus size girly get the hottie. It did finish a bit quickly though. I would have liked to hear more about the clans coming together
Lucy and Jason's tale is a story worth reading. The ups and downs of the story will be intriguing to the reader. Make sure you enjoy reading this HEA again and again. I sure did!
Undercover Alpha is a different yet intriguing story by Zoe Chant. The death of a leader of a clan just didn’t seem right leaving his three nieces to inherit. The quickness of an occurrence of a mate ship brings two clans together but things don’t seem right
The premise was pretty good, but the story was too short to let it develop properly, the characters were bland, the suspense thin, and the narrative style rather puerile.
I enjoyed reading Undercover Alpha. My only suggestion is that the editors need to double check the story for errors. There were quite a few grammatical errors, typos and especially errors with character names.
This book has an interesting story line to it. Jason is an Alpha wolf from a clan on the West coast, he was building an alliance with Oliver, an Alpha wolf on the East coast. Oliver died, and his niece Lucy became Queen. The problem is Lucy doesn't even know Oliver or about werewolves. There are several typos and misplaced words or paragraphs which can make the story hard to follow. This is the reason I gave 3 stars as opposed to 4. The story also ended to abruptly, there could be more to finish the story more naturally.
This story had a sold, steady plot and direction. The characters were well thought out and formed. I haven't read a shifter story quite like this one before, so it was an interesting change. Lucy didn't know. All of the plot developments that came in to play led to a solid conclusion. There were some minor editing problems but they didn't detract from the pleasurable reading experience. It was a nice story that featured werewolves in a different, less violent depiction, definitely worth the read.
Someone needs an editor! So many errors! There was even one part towards the end where Lucy's narrative called her new lover Jason, Richard! I was like, what!? Oh! It's just another error! Insta-love isn't my thing, but insta-love without any explanation or build up as to why, is completely unbelievable. Jason, didn't seem very much like an "alpha" at all. Character building is much needed. The plot was interesting but there were too many unwritten, unexplained things to rate this any better. I did enjoy the story & with some tweaking & much needed editing, it could be rated higher.
Females don't change but they do have power, that is what Lucy learns when her Uncle Oliver dies. He left his estate to Lucy and her sisters and all of a sudden dead animals appear in the back yard. Is it a warning or a welcoming? How can you tell especially if you don't know werewolves exist?
Not a bad book but it needed a better proofreader to keep the characters straight.
I am binge reading and have quite a few of Zoe Chant's books that I had one-clicked and wanted to read, but would always have something else come up. I have to say. TAKE THE TIME AND READ ALL OF HER BOOKS!! They are each unique, some follow a specific group, but each can stand alone and have a happy ending. They are feel good and quick reads! I absolutely love all her books I have read! And they never leave you feeling like your missing something at the end.
I loved this story though I wish it were asides so could see all 3 girls find mates, thou Lord help the one who got Olivia as a mate. Lol, that girl is a handful. Happy reading everyone.
novella about a woman unaware she has werewolf genes. she becomes the queen of her clan when her unknown uncle dies...in this story the women don't shift. but they do rule. she falls in love with an alpha from another clan seeking an alliance but there is trickery afloat from another quarter.
This book is amazing. I truly loved this story. It's a fast read and I truly loved this story. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!! Zoe Chant you have a new fan!! I look forward to reading more of your books!!
Wow this was so different than all the other shifter book...thanks for giving us a new story it was great to read. Keep thinking different, we need new different versions.
I enjoyed this read. Writing was really good and the story line was excellent. Love the fact that Jason helped her become her own. His queen. To love forever.
I'm use to a lot more action in books but for a "not so wild" ride with this book, I can say it was a pleasant read. I'm not adverse to reading more of this authors works
