He broke the heart of the Compact in the north. Now he's going for its throat.
Ryan Cole crossed the deadliest country in the world and shattered the enemy's greatest work. But the Sovereign Compact is a network, not a monster — cut off one head and it simply grows another. To end an organization that's harvested souls like his for four centuries, Ryan will have to find the one thing it can't survive losing.
The hunt drags him south, then past the edge of the map entirely — into a lethal wilderness no one has ever crossed and lived, toward the Compact's oldest and most guarded secret. Every step is a fight. Every kill is a level. And somewhere in the dark at the center of it waits a horror four hundred years in the making, and the second evolution that might finally make Ryan strong enough to break it.
If he can reach it in time. If it doesn't cost him everything he's become.
The class had no ceiling. It turns out it has a price.
Really enjoyed books 1 and 2 of the series but I just couldn't finish book 3. What turned me off was the repetitive dialogue and descriptions that I ended up thinking it was written by AI or just needed better editing. Made it 54% of book 3 before I DNF'd.
