I was conflicted on how to write this review but I think I’ll keep it simple and just do bullet points.
Let’s start with the things I did like:
-the main characters! The Murphy boys are great characters. I was iffy about Conor when I first met him but I ended up loving him. I actually liked Jaxon as well which is something I can’t say about the love interests from the first two books so I was very happy that Jaxon was actually likable.
- the secondary characters. Although Xavier and Colton were insufferable in their own books, I like them in other peoples books. I’m also intrigued by the rest of the series. I hope Duncan’s book is next.
-I loved the epilogue. Seeing them married with kids was honestly so sweet and I loved that their dreams were fulfilled.
Now on to things I didn’t like:
-this book felt like it was 80% monologue and 20% dialogue which made it a little exhausting to read
- we spent so much time in the characters heads I felt like the romance wasn’t all the way there
-the entire book was about Jaxon. I feel like Conor was such an afterthought. I wanted more from Conor since he’s such a complex character but we hardly got to see that.
-the writing was very repetitive. I felt like I kept reading the same things over and over. The phrase “for the first time” was used FIFTY times!! FIFTY! Every time I read it I rolled my eyes because it was just so overused.
-Jaxon has an ex that is mentioned way too many times. He’s a big part of Jaxon’s trauma but I felt like he kept comparing everything to him. Like “Trent never” “Trent didn’t” “Trent said” the guys no longer with us so why is he getting brought up so damn much in Jaxon’s thoughts.
-in the first book Conor is made out to be this manwhore. I mentioned it in my review and the author commented saying Conor isn’t who we think he is. So I’m over here excited like omg maybe he’s going to secretly be a virgin or idk inexperienced but imagine my surprise when we find out that he does have a lot of sex, just not as much as his family thinks he does. Talk about disappointment. He lets his family think he sleeps with anything with a pulse but we don’t even know why he lets them think that? I was confused.
-the BIG one. NO I LOVE YOUS WERE SAID!! You mean to tell me, these two got married and had kids but we don’t have a single page of them saying I love you to each other. Not even in the epilogue?? Crazy!!
So much more I wanted to say but this review is already long so I’ll stop there.

okay so i skipped the first thirteen chapters. okay so i skimmed the smut. okay so i rated it five stars. what are you going to do about it? hmm?
jaxson & conor’s story is ultimately about healing and learning to work with someone else emotionally. i think that the book focused more on jaxson’s journey rather than the whole fighting gambling thing. that was more a c-plot. i really liked the epilogues. like a lot. would love to see a cillian novella.

Review of Advanced Copy Read from the Author!
Wow! This series keeps getting better and better. I finished this book within 24 hours and I absolutely loved it. I have looked for a vigilante family with sweet yet tough men that come and save the day and this series has scratched that itch and more!
My sweet Jaxon. This man has been through it and ugh my heart goes out to him. The description of the characters, the raw emotion you could feel radiating off of him, and the fact that he was carrying all of this alone. On the outside, he’s this big broody tough guy, but on the inside this man is worn down and broken. My heart broke for him but wow did the author do an amazing job by having me feel his emotions.
And then there is Conor. In Murphy family fashion, he imprinted on Jaxon and did not, COULD NOT, let go of him. What I really loved is that, while the whole family has their obsessions and demeanors, they’re all written with their own personalities. Conor was possessive but sat back on the sidelines until he couldn’t take it any longer. This man broke through Jaxon’s walls in the best of ways.
I loved Jaxon and Conor’s relationship. These big broody men that fall for each other but have two different set of emotions and lives they are living. How Conor took care of Jaxon when he needed him and the way he adjusted to what Jaxon needed. SWOON. Jaxon didn’t trust that Conor could help him but after a while, he gave in to the help.
I LOVE the Murphy family. Every. Single. One. They all have their own quirks and personalities but are united beyond belief when it comes to their family. How they all step in to help one another makes my heart so happy.
I cannot tell you enough how much I loved this book (and the first two books, GO READ THEM!). All of these men are amazing and I seriously cannot wait for more books.

I finished this book two days ago, and I've finally mustered the strength to write my review. The last 4 or 5 chapters really got me, and every time I've thought of the ending, I've wanted to cry (in the best way). But I'm better today, and I'm ready to give this book the attention it deserves (if my words come out right).
Let me start by saying when I first started this book, I knew right away that Jaxon was going to be my baby. The way the author wrote his demeanor, his crouched shoulders, looking down at the ground in defeat - the little details - really stood out to me, and I knew there was an element of brokenness to him. On the outside, he looks menacing (although hot). He's tall, big, former Marine, fighter, all the things. But on the inside he's a broken little mush that just wants to be loved. He's my submissive, romance reader, pillow princess.
Enter Conor. The minute he laid eyes on Jaxon, it was over for him. Now, if you've read the first two books of this series, you already know, that's what these boys do. (Oh, if you haven't read the first two, why not?) The Murphy boys fall hard, fall fast, they claim, they imprint, they possess. Conor was no different. Where he was different from Ronan and Declan, however, is he kept Jaxon at a distance - lying in wait - for 8 months! Eight months. Ronan would never. I immediately became intrigued by Conor because although he's similar to the MCs from the previous two books in the series, something was different about him. I called it early on in the book, and my intuition was spot on, but I'll get to that later. Nevertheless, finally after 8 months, Conor and Jaxon properly meet.
It's apparent early in the book that Jaxon is under the control of someone or multiple someone's and Conor catches onto it quickly. Hello!!! Conor stepped into a fight, no questions asked to protect Jaxon. Conor does what the Murphy boys do and he immediately goes into protection mode when it comes to Jaxon. But he does it differently than Ronan and Declan did. Something about Conor was softer. Although the Murphy boys aren't known for their emotions (they can't show them) nor their softness (they are vigilantes), Conor was a sweet baby for Jaxon. Whether it was trained or instinct, Conor knew what Jaxon needed, and he responded accordingly. At some point, Conor left Jaxon no choice and Jaxon ended up at Conor's gorgeous house tucked away from the world.
The relationship between Conor and Jaxon progressed so naturally, and that's because Conor was in tune with Jaxon's feelings and needs and emotions throughout the book. It was nice to see a more patient, softer side to a Murphy boy. I honestly fell head over heels for Conor because he's a cuddler, a caretaker, a consent king AND....he does aftercare. Be still my romance loving heart. Then you have Jaxon who is just broken. As as byproduct of foster care and group homes, a marine who fell in love only to find out it was unrequited, a man who watched people suffer on the battlefield and is filled with physical and internal scars - Jaxon is a bit of a mess. But little by little, he became trusting of Conor and Conor's intentions.
He was introduced to the Murphy family. I love the entire Murphy family, especially Momma Alessia. He became dependent on Conor, although reluctantly. The two of them just fell in sync with each other and their exchanges throughout the book were so sweet and wholesome. One thing Wendi did in this book that I ate up, is she wrote really tender moments of togetherness and conversation between the two MCs. And don't even get me started on the scene with the bath. OMG. Conor - I love you so much.
When things finally pop off and a meeting is demanded by Manny (that jerk) with the Murphy guys, in true Murphy fashion, the entire family shows up. But can I take a moment to rave about Duncan? Holy hell, Duncan left his mark on me in this book. My gosh, I need a book about him ASAP. The controversy at the end was well paced and exciting to read. Jaxon jumped into protective mode to keep Conor safe, and shortly after that, I never stopped crying.
Honestly, the last 5 chapters were so emotional for me. To see what Jaxon thought about himself (alone, unloved) and watching it play out with the help of the Murphy family, especially Alessia, was one of the most beautiful moments I've read. I actually sobbed really big tears. And then epilogue 1. The hits just kept coming. The epilogue tears were happy tears (I think) but I just couldn't stop crying. I am trying to be discreet because of spoilers, but the ending of the book was the sweetest ending I've read in a really long time, if ever.
You have to read this book. It is an infinite star read for me, and I will reread it as an annual comfort read (more frequently than annual). Wendi, thank you for pouring your heart and soul into this book. I will never get over my babies. I can't wait to see what's next in the series, but this one is a tough act to follow.

Conor Murphy, I didn't know what to expect going into My Fixation; I just knew I was invested and in love with the Murphy family, and my word, this was amazing! 🎢✨
I want to thank Wendi for representing the realism of PTSD as someone who has been diagnosed and living with it. My appreciation for her trueness in Jaxon was truly wonderful because oftentimes it has been misrepresented within stories. 💙📖
Now back to the story, what a rollercoaster! Book 3 you need your tissues! 😭 Jaxon, my beautiful gentle giant who only wants peace, love, family, and to be a pillow princess! 🛌 It's not too much to ask for but society! Ugh, society hasn't given my baby the chance to until Conor Murphy that is.
I cried, bawled, yelled my outrage, and laughed. 😭😂 For each book, we see the different shades of why we, well, I love the Murphys and My Fixation was no better. Conor's patience towards Jaxon, someone who has been failed time again and believes he isn't worthy, was something to watch because Conor could've given in to his instincts but instead succumbed to gentleness until Jaxon started seeing himself differently. 🌟💕
All hail ALESSIA MURPHY ladies and gentlemen because that woman, that woman right there is the definition of a true QUEEN! 👑🎤 Her speech to Jaxon's parents was Oscar-worthy; even now I'm tearing up a little bit, my word!
Big Daddy Duncan was more present in book 3 and I loved it because we don't normally get this much of him. It was also good seeing Xavier, Colton, and of course our baby Olie lol, and the war continues with him and Liam LMAO. ⚔️👶
"Well, that's our cue." Colton pushes to his feet. "Time to get little man home before he gets fussy." "Yeah," Liam mutters from the couch. "Because he's such a ray of sunshine otherwise." ☀️😅

Overall, My Fixation was yet another beautiful extension of the Murphy Enterprises Series. 📚❤️

This series somehow keeps getting better with every book, and My Fixation might just be my favorite so far.
Jaxon completely stole my heart. Underneath the intimidating, ex-military, gruff exterior is a man who’s been carrying so much pain for far too long. Watching him slowly realize that he deserved love, care, and someone willing to stand beside him was both heartbreaking and incredibly rewarding. He may be the definition of a tough guy, but all he really wanted was a safe place to land, and I felt every emotion right alongside him.
Conor was exactly what Jaxon needed. His unwavering patience, quiet devotion, and determination to love Jaxon on Jaxon’s terms made their relationship feel so genuine. I loved that he didn’t try to force anything.. he simply showed up over and over until Jaxon was ready to let someone in. Their chemistry was amazing, but it was the emotional connection and trust they built together that made this story unforgettable.
This book had me smiling, laughing, tearing up, and completely invested from beginning to end. Wendi Varner has created characters that feel so real, and it’s impossible not to become attached to every single Murphy man. I already need the next book because I’m not ready to leave this family behind.
If you love protective, possessive heroes with huge hearts, emotional healing, found family, and a romance that will make you feel everything, this series is an absolute must-read. I can’t recommend it enough! ❤️
This series somehow keeps getting better with every book, and My Fixation might just be my favorite so far.
Jaxon completely stole my heart. Underneath the intimidating, ex-military, gruff exterior is a man who’s been carrying so much pain for far too long. Watching him slowly realize that he deserved love, care, and someone willing to stand beside him was both heartbreaking and incredibly rewarding. He may be the definition of a tough guy, but all he really wanted was a safe place to land, and I felt every emotion right alongside him.
Conor was exactly what Jaxon needed. His unwavering patience, quiet devotion, and determination to love Jaxon on Jaxon’s terms made their relationship feel so genuine. I loved that he didn’t try to force anything.. he simply showed up over and over until Jaxon was ready to let someone in. Their chemistry was amazing, but it was the emotional connection and trust they built together that made this story unforgettable.
This book had me smiling, laughing, tearing up, and completely invested from beginning to end. Wendi Varner has created characters that feel so real, and it’s impossible not to become attached to every single Murphy man. I already need the next book because I’m not ready to leave this family behind.
If you love protective, possessive heroes with huge hearts, emotional healing, found family, and a romance that will make you feel everything, this series is an absolute must-read. I can’t recommend it enough! ❤️

Sigh
The writing continues to improve. The story is great. The characters are great. But....I'm missing that physical intimacy so much. I didn't think the books could have even less spice and yet here we are. There were only two spicy scenes in this book and only one of them was actually good. That scene was at least longer and more detailed than any scene in the previous two books but its the only one we got. So disappointed. I would like at least one of these books to have a couple that actually gets intimate with each other. I mean in all the books so far MC2 fights the relationship till the bitter end and I'm over that. It would be cool if just one of them at least actually wants the relationship as much as the other guy from the beginning. And more sex scenes please. A lot of feelings and emotions happen during those intimate moments and I've been missing that so much in these books. This series could have easily become one of my top series up there with Onley James and Paulina Ian Kane but its just falling short because of that. I'll probably never recommend this series or reread it. At least not these first three books. Maybe the next ones will be better and I'll change my mind.

This book was an absolute masterpiece, and the moment I finished it this morning, I immediately wished I could experience it all over again for the very first time. Jaxon and Conor’s story is profoundly beautiful; their journey had me deeply invested and crying through multiple sections. Jaxon has endured such a heartbreakingly rough life, and seeing Conor step in to show him the love, warmth, and joy he had been missing out on was incredibly moving.
It was also so beautiful to see how the entire Murphy clan completely wraps their arms around Jaxon and loves him fiercely he deserves that big, supportive family dynamic so much. On a side note, I still absolutely adore the interactions between Liam and Ollie; they bring such fantastic energy to the book and make me laugh every single time. I am already counting down the days until the next book, and I am desperately hoping that Duncan will get a story of his own in the future!

Then here comes Conor, basically offering him everything he dreams of and he can't trust it or believe it. Conor being who he is, stubborn, obsessed and already decided that Jaxon is his,doesn't let Jaxons stop him.
I think Jaxon needed an obsessive type love, he wouldn't have been able to believe it was real or true if it wasn't. He needed the over the top protector but also the softness Conor offered. It also wasn't just Conor, it was Conor's entire family that showed up for Jaxon. This family keeps growing and keeps getting better!
These books just keep getting better as the series goes on and I can't wait for the next one!

This girl loves review
Wow book 3 did not disappoint, i loved the other books but this one really showcased how good a writer wendi has become, i was gripped from the beginning and felt like i was on Jaxsons journey with him, she has a way of writing that she breaks your heart then heals it, at the epilogue i was crying happy tears, Jaxson and Colton deserved the happy ending, but what i also really like about her books is that the mental health and disabilities she writes are acurate.
Jaxson was so sweet and gentle, i loved that even though Colton was confused about his feelings he just went along with it and gave Jaxson the stability he need, Alessia was amazing again mom of the year, i cried hard at what she said to his parents.
This was a very emotional read, but soo good.
I also really liked the message Wendi gave at the beginning and also warnings to vulnerable people.

The last 10% of this book is the only reason it’s getting two stars instead of one. The first 90% is too long, with no romantic growth between our two MMC’s. There was no emotional connection between Conor and Jaxon, it was just Jaxon fighting Conor on every decision and then trauma dumping on him. I don’t believe these two being together at all. We had Declan being Xavier’s avenging angel, Ronan being Colton’s darkness, why didn’t we get something like that with these two?
Also the Trent stuff never really felt fleshed out it just felt like another layer to Jaxon’s tragic backstory. We also skated over the drug and alcohol addiction. This book was trying to cover and do too much and it overtook the entire rest of the story.
The only thing I now want out of the rest of this series is for Duncan to end up with the Russian mafia Don!

Another amazing Murphy tale in the books. A full length novel, this one is and feels decidedly longer than the other 2, and I say that in the best way. Jaxon’s story deserved time, patience, space and love. All things Conor was able to provide in spades. Jaxon, a sweet tender muffin of a big strong man, needed softness and understanding that just because he was big and could beat people up in cage matches, it didn’t mean that he enjoyed any of it. He was perhaps the most sensitive and tender character I’ve ever read. Their ending was so heartwarming I might just perish rather than live life knowing that some big strong men who love big strong men might never find this level of happiness.
It feels like Finn or Duncan are next up and I can’t wait.

It was interesting in the first half of the book, but then it started to feel repetitive. There were also a few too many characters to keep track of.
I usually love the found family trope, but this one felt a bit forced. I also never really understood what their businesses actually were or how they were all so well connected.
I felt like we were constantly being told that everyone in the family would go above and beyond for each other, but it came across as a bit shallow. It was one of those cases where it felt more like it was told rather than shown.
That being said, I did really like the characters.

Jaxon & Conor!!! The epilogues SAVED THE DAY here! I went from fighting to finish this book to crying and falling in love with their family. This one was my least fav out of the series so far, just because it was a lot of internal monologue and not a lot actually happening. For me, this one could have been 100 pages shorter and book 2 should have been 100 pages longer (ugh I loved book 2 so much). Anyway I’m so glad they got their happy ending and I really am so happy that Jaxon found the family he had always deserved. Also, I don’t know if I said it in my reviews for the other books, but Alessia is EVERYTHING I’m so obsessed with her.

These Murphy men continue to make me love them even more! With every book that has been released so far it just makes me want to be a part of this insane dynamic. My Fixation is Conor’s book and he becomes obsessed with this big, hunky, muscular ex military man. But this guy, Jaxon, has the biggest heart with the biggest soft goey insides. He just want to be loved and taken care of. Just because he is a big “manly man” doesn’t mean he can’t be treated with soft hands right?? Ugh I just love them.

Each one better than the last
Loving this whole series and honestly each one is better than the one before! This one, for me, was the most emotional of the series. Xavier and Colton had pasts that they had to overcome as well but something about Jaxon’s quiet sense of defeat and hopelessness just really hit hard. I hope the author has more planned for the Murphy family. Alessia continues to be the most amazing matriarch and such a warm mama and the Ollie and Liam dynamic just makes me laugh.

This book was incredible 🥹 Wendi has done it again 💓 I loved how fiercely protective Conor was of Jaxon ! How he learned to understand what Jaxon needed and how to show that he truly cared. The emotional journey that Jaxon went on throughout the book was written so well we could really connect with the characters . Connor and Jaxon just melted my heart.. even though the spice was 🌶🌶 it didn't matter because the story line is was sucks you in and keeps you going.. Love a giant soft teddy bear of a man.

I didn’t like this one as much! Conor wasn’t nearly as funny as Ronan and Declan. I think I laughed one time if that. I was just bored. I found myself skimming just to get to the point. It was really repetitive. And I think it was 100 pages longer than the first 2! Because why? I did love the crumbs we got of the first two couples though. I love little Ollie! I can’t wait for Liam’s book. I hate starting a series that isn’t finished. Yet here we are!

Jaxon has my whole heart. I love Jaxon’s healing journey and Conor helping through it. Conor is so patient, caring and love Jaxon to no end. I love the forehead kissed, Conor’s hand on Jaxon’s back. Conor patiently helping during his anxiety attack. I love them so much, the epilogues were the perfect ending to the book. The Murphy Enterprises series is my Roman Empire I can’t wait for the rest of the series!!
