As Heaven and Hell close in, the realm stands on the edge of annihilation, where only the strongest will endure and where love may prove to be the deadliest force of all.

For five years, Ravyn has survived as a Wisp—forgotten, powerless, and alone. But one act of heroism places her in the path of Malekaiel Soltaire, the most powerful of Zerra's Seven Ruarke, and uncovers a truth that changes Ravyn is far more than she ever believed.

As Ravyn's hidden power awakens, Malek finds himself fighting battles on every front—against the Wisps threatening Zerra, an ancient prophecy foretelling disaster, and the growing feelings he can't seem to ignore.

As war looms on the horizon and Heaven's deadliest warriors prepare to strike, one terrifying truth becomes

The enemy may already be among them.

Bound by destiny and drawn together by a passion neither can deny, Ravyn and Malek must decide what they're willing to sacrifice to save their world.

Because sometimes love is the greatest strength of all.

And sometimes it's the thing that destroys everything.

About the author

Yajna Ramnath

Yajna Ramnath writes like she’s crafting spells—equal parts beauty, danger, and a little chaos.

An author of fantasy, romance, and deliciously dark romance, Yajna builds worlds where love burns, bleeds, and sometimes bites. Her stories are filled with powerful heroines who don’t wait to be saved, dangerously charming love interests who toe the line between savior and sinner, and plot twists sharper than a dagger in the dark.

When she isn’t tormenting her characters (and her readers) with emotional rollercoasters and morally grey dilemmas, she’s doing something equally intense—headshotting opponents in Call of Duty Mobile like the badass she is. Let’s just say her trigger finger is as fast as her plot twists.

Based in a world of words, Wi-Fi, and caffeine-fueled nights, Yajna writes not just to tell stories—but to create entire emotional black holes you’ll gladly get sucked into.

Dark romance with heart. Fantasy with fire. Love that lingers like a ghost.

Welcome to her world. Don’t forget to bring snacks—and maybe a sword.

It's a thing now-- I'm definitely going to need a animal companion in every fantasy book Yajna Ramnath writes now.

Pokey stole my heart form the beginning, and I'm not getting over him anytime soon.

Ravyn & Kai-- *heart eyes* they're so cute, and? Perfect for each other!! I say this about every book Yajna Ramnath writes but, the banter is always 10/10 and makes me giggle.

This is a SLOW BURN!! I was not ready to be screaming multiple times at my kindle "JUST KISS ALREADY".

Yajna Ramnath always writes her side characters with so much care thay sometimes you end up rooting for them and want them to have their own story. I love that! I love being attached to more characters other than the MCs.

This book settled my soul in a way I didn't know I needed. The RANGE! The emotional upheaval! The satisfying ending!

While this story is dual POV, make no mistake....this is Ravyn's story.

Ravyn, our FMC, has an absolute journey throughout this book. From meek to powerful, from homelessness to leading the charge, from being invisible to thriving...her story makes even the reader feel powerful.

Malek, our green flag MMC, is a delightful character to read. And I adored his POV chapters. Give this man a gold star in yearning, because he aced it.

On top of the journey that these two share together, the plot is really the star of the show here. There is such beautiful world building and lore, that I'm really hoping this isn't the only time we get to visit this world. (I know it's a standalone...but there are a lot more people we meet along the way...just saying).

I felt agony, joy, happiness, shock, and pride reading this book. I enjoyed it, and I hope you do too!

Yajna Ramnath has done it again. I had the pleasure of reading this early.

Thank you to the author, all opinions and thoughts are my own.

Archangels, Wisps, and more! The dynamic in this story was absolutely perfect. The secrets uncovered, the sloooowww burn, the angst and turmoil... I loved every single word, paragraph, and chapter.

Pokey, Ravyn, and Malek (Kai) is exactly what I needed. You may think 600 pages is a lot but it reads like 300. I would say I was shocked by how fast I was pulled in but like all of Yajna's books I was hooked from page 1.

I loved the character growth through the whole book. From Ravyn and Pokey in the beginning to the very end.

I will gladly recommend this one any chance I can get.

This book had me literally laughing out loud at points!
The pull, and the reveal, and the other reveal - I loved this so much.

You’ve told your story here, and it’s beautiful to read, and heartbreaking to feel. You can tell that Ravyns struggles are unmistakably modelled off of your own, and it’s inspiring and tragic all at the same time.

Malek - I loved his representation. I saw myself in this character and understood him on a personal level. It was incredible to see and understand a character so completely.

This was a masterful piece of art, and I am so fucking proud of you, both for the book, and for enduring. Fighting. Surviving. Living.

Congratulations on another amazing book, Yaj.
You should be proud!

ARC reader for this book.
I read a book by Yajna Ramnath previously and knew I would enjoy the style. I was not disappointed.
This is a fantasy romance set in a world of angels, archangels, fallen angels, demons... the MFC is strong even though she doesn't think she is, she survived poverty, homelessness and prejudice. The MMC is neurodivergent, a strong leader and completely soft when it comes to her. The world is greatly depicted. The love story is a slow burn. There are tensions, frustrations and heartbreaking moment.
Why 5⭐️ if not for that? There is the cutest hedgehog who steals strawberries, I mean... who's not to love a story with a cute hedgehog !!!

I loved this book, what a unique spin on angel lore. There were so many twists and turns, a nerospicy MMC, a FMC who overcame and survived so much, lessons on fear leading & inheriting wars/feelings, BUT the hedgehog maybe stole the show! I loved Pokey so much, he was a sassy little potato and I loved him. I really loved the yearning, the world building, the emotions the mains all had to work through, there was so much thought put into this book. Did it emotionally destroy me and make me sob in parts for our dear Ravyn?? 100000% but it is a Yajna Ramnath book, you've signed up for this.

I loved this so much, the characters, the worlding building, and especially Pokey. This made me want to read more books with hedgehog sidekicks lol. I'm only disappointed that there's not more to read, and there wasn't even more scenes of Ravyn and Malek together! And the plot twist at end actually surprised me, which doesn't happen often. Would definitely recommend!

I received this as an ARC, and the premise definitely caught my attention.

There’s something about broken characters, complicated circumstances and the promise of an emotional journey that always makes me curious to see where the story goes.

From the blurb alone, this felt like a story with plenty of potential, with its mix of emotion, relationships and whatever mess these characters are about to find themselves tangled in.
It was an enjoyable read overall, although for me it landed closer to a 3.75★ than a full 4.

Still, a solid read and an interesting premise.
