Well hello fabulous new series!
This woman had wounds. I did too. Perhaps that was it. Two people, both scarred, both not quite healed, searching for a shard of intimacy in the darkness of night.
The first book in the Assassin's Revenge series delivers on sex, mystery, and intrigue - when I finished this story (which had a cliffy luring the reader into the series) my first thought was total elation because I have no idea what will happen next. It's true! Sometimes I'm able to work out all the why/when/how of a story ARC early on, but not with the Assassin's Revenge series.

I'm signing on for a wild ride with this one, that much I can tell.

We have two characters who are more than they appear to be.
Two people with carefully guarded pasts.
People who kill.

Ellie
(aka Rachel)
Use him, the pragmatic part of me urged. Sleep with him if he seems interested, Make a pleasant, pleasurable memory to counterpoint the painful ones.
We know that Ellie was kidnapped and kept for several years as an unwilling sex slave to a brutal abusive asshole. Once she found freedom from captivity, she began training to become the ultimate assassin. Well, training is over, and Ellie is picking off the men who raped her. One by one...

A residual fear of physical intimacy stands in the way of her plan. Ellie's solution is to find a stranger to screw. She needs to replace memories of her traumatic past sexual experiences with new ones.

This time, she'll be in control...
All that control dissolves when she meets him...

Alexander
(aka Marc)
I suspected that almost everything Rachel had told me was a lie, but then again, almost everything I'd said to her was a lie as well.
This story is dual POV, so the reader has a front row seat to both Ellie and Alexander's inner monologues.

Ellie is very upfront (mentally) with who she is and what she's doing - She's a survivor. She's going to kill the people who hurt her.

Alexander is not so cut and dry - This man oozes mystery. His motivations are more murky, his goal isn't so clearly defined.

It's clear that these two are leading lives which intertwine despite the fact that they've never met.

Alexander is waiting out the results of a hit he has his team doing in Paris. He's staying inconspicuous at a seedy bar when she walks in. Suddenly this gloriously confident woman has his undivided attention.

A game of Truth or Dare leads the couple to a more secluded venue.

One night of passion has to be enough for this pair - they each have missions to fulfill and dangerous days ahead... But that doesn't stop them from wishing this one night in Paris could be the start of something bigger...

This was an enjoyable start to the series. I used to say that I wasn't a fan of serial novels but I've found a few I've loved recently and this is one of the good ones.

I like the idea of this revenge story. I have a feeling the next installment will reveal more secrets from our main characters. I really like both of them so far. They seem quite tortured which I always enjoy.

The ending was great, and definitely spiked my interest for book 2. I enjoy a good story with my kink, looking forward to book 2.

Ellie is a victim of abduction and slavery. Her innocence and normality are forever gone...

Once upon a long, long time ago, I had been a girl who was always lost in a book.

Once upon a long, long time ago, I’d had dreams, modest though they were.

For years she had been at the mercy of cruel men who used her for their pleasure. For years she has dreamed of revenge. Now it is time to get it. As she gets closer to the man who tortured her and left her soul scarred, the danger becomes more prominent. Still, she longs to get to the one man who ruined her life, Dylan McAllister. In order to achieve her revenge, she needs to hide behind a fake identity. She hides behind Rachel.

Marc is a man who dresses up as a thief, but his real identity is a mystery to us, the readers.

In this particular bar in Saint Denis where I was a semi-regular, I was a two-bit thief named Marc. The bartenders here had seen me in rags and they’d seen me in suits that cost thousands of euros.

He lurks in the dark corners of the underworld. He is a man with a mission, he is a man with an agenda. When he meets a mysterious woman who goes by the name of Rachel, his controlled world is shattered to pieces. Their attraction cannot be denied and so they embark on a brief but passionate relationship. They spend one night together, a night that neither of them will ever forget.

Ellie doesn't get close to men. She fears intimacy because she has suffered at the hands of men. But Marc...Marc is something else and she immediately trusts him. For the first time in years she is willing to abandon her fears and surrender in a man's touch.

Marc doesn't want to let Rachel go, but when she disappears abruptly from his life, he has to let go. Fate has other plans however and they meet again. The underworld that Marc hates with a passion but at the same time the one world that he cannot escape from just yet, seems like the only link he may have with Rachel. Will Ellie get her revenge? What will Marc do once he sees her again? The book ends in a terrible, but at the same time very promising cliffhanger.

I have read Tara Crescent's work before and I love her writing. I've loved all her books. This book far exceeded my expectations and my only complaint is that it was too darn short! I need more! One thing is for certain, this author has a way with words. She knows how to write novellas. Amazing first instalment! Bring on the next book!

5 Stars from me!

Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock, I was given this book in exchange for my review.

First and foremost, you need to know, this is not a complete story, its a part works, and I didn't know that going in and I am proper miffed now!!

Ellie/Rachel is on a mission to get her revenge on those who kidnapped her, raped her, beat her bloody, for two whole years. But she need an escape, just for the one night, she needs to forget. Alexander/Marc provides that escape. But there are things about Alexander that Ellie does not know. Things that may well bring his end about, at her hand.

This is, as I said, a part work, and so I cannot fully explain the plot line, and the way the story moves, since 95% of part is the one night, with only that tiny little bit at the end, 2 years later.

What I CAN say, is, I did love this!

Its short, yes, about 45 minutes reading time for me, but what is here is very well written. It is written in the first person, and it does flip from Alexander to Ellie and back again, so that didn't do well for me, but its right for this book. Ellie and Alexander have spark, passion and attraction, and although Ellie is still traumtised by her ordeal, with Alexander it feels right, its okay, she can more than deal with what happens between them. Its after she can't, the tenderness, the wanting to see him again, that she can't deal with, and she doesn't.

I've read this for the blog, and I do hope that I get the next instalment, I wanna see what Alexander has in store for Ellie now he finds her again, just not where he thought!

Because of it being an instalment, and because its first person flipping....

A great start to a new serial from Ms. Crescent. A fan of assassin stories, this serial is for you. For those who enjoyed the TV show Alias, this one will trip your trigger as Ellie "Rachel" takes revenge on those who kidnapped her and tortured her.

Since this is only book one, the setup of this criminal world is only partially revealed. There is a criminal mastermind dealing in human trafficking. What he doesn't know is that his world is going to end as two separate parties are interested in his death. Rachel and Marc have crossed paths before. What they don't know is that they both have the same goal.

The writing in this story is smooth and captivating. This is genre is different from Ms. Crescents more erotic ones. I thoroughly enjoyed this bite size suspense. I only wish there would be more and quicker. Serials are not my favourite kind of books. Still, despite being a serial, this is one which caught my attention and will keep it until the end. I want to be on the journey for this end destination. Recommended to romantic suspense lovers.

I have had this book on my for awhile. This was the first book in the "Assassin's Revenge" series. For many years Ellie has trained to be an assassin in order to kill the men who kidnapped and raped her when she was eighteen. Nothing else has been allowed to interfere with her mission. when she meets the sexy and mysterious Alexander Hamilton ( yes I laught at the name also) at a bar, her tough façade crumbles, and she can’t help but be drawn to him. Both of these characters have secrets both have been hurt in the past. This was a really good book that was short and I wanted more. When these two hook up for a night it's hot. Ellie doesn't let people get close to her she longs to get revenge on the man that ruined her life Dylan McAllister. Marc lurks in the dark corners of the underworld. He is a man with a mission, he is a man with his own agenda. This was a well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. The book leaves off on a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to reading the next book.

I'm a first time reader of Tara Crescent. Found gets a solid 3.5 stars from me for a few reasons. If there was a bit more foundation laid out to better understand both Ellie (Rachel) and Alexander (Mark) the the rating would have went up to at least four stars. I was a bit confused reading this so that took away from my enjoyment.

I did like what we were given of their personalities, more Alexander than Ellie since he's much more fleshed out in the story than her. I loved the writing because it wasn't childish or awkward and kept things flowing, even while bouncing between two points of view. Most people don't like cliffhangers, but this one was done in such an interesting way that it compels you do want more.

I was given this book as an ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I loved it..but the most annoying bit,..well actually two. It's too short and it leaves me on a cliff hanger...I just can't wait for the next!!!!

Both main characters Alexander aka Marc, and Ellie aka Rachel are trained killers. They happen to stumble across each other in a bar. Rachel is a victim of kidnap and rape in her past and is struggling with sexual relationships, but takes to Marc in a big way. She is set on revenge, she intends on killing her kidnappers, and we are introduced to her character after she has just killed one of her previous captures/ rapists. We see that she's not truely a killer, but revenge is a strong motivator. We don't get to learn a lot about Marc, except he heads a big assassin organisation, and possibly funds Rachel's main target. We don't know the true relationship between Marc and Rachel's main target...yet.
The sex in this book was breath taking, the passion and lovings was just awesome. I can foresee a hot, wild relaionship building here. She can see his lies and he knows there's more to her than meets the eye...especially at the end of the book!!
They go their separate ways about half way through the book..intentionally distancing themselves, especially for Rachel. It's just a hot one night stand. Marc tries to track her down. Then fate intervens and they come together again..... Now the fireworks may fly, but we have to wait and see.

Great book, loved it. Well written and easy to read. Loved the characters...loved it all

~~Gifted by the Author in exchange for a honest reveiw~
Tara Crescent always seems to deliver, Found (Assassin’s Revenge) she does it again. Its the first book in the series and I loved it. The intrigue, the lies the passion, the hiding in plain sight.
Rachel and Marc play a game but not a game. They fill a need in each other and walk away, they both tell lies and proclaim to be somebody they are only shadows of.
“Rachel” has a serious problem she must get a handle on, or it just may cost her her job if not her life. When she storms out of her mentor’s presence she realizes the fact yes she needs to get in control of that fear.
Marc is on a mission and for the moment is waiting is a bar in the seedier part of town. When his eyes land on a woman that screams out of place as soon as she walks through the door. Said woman oozes nothing but confidence and that is what have Marc all but reaching down and adjusting himself.
It wasn’t a harsh cliff hanger, but you will most defiantly be wanting the next book. I really loved the length of this book, perfect not too much detail to bog you down but enough to make the story worth reading. So far I like Rachel and her edge. I didn’t get as much feeling from Marc but I like him and anxious to see what he does next. Where its mentioned about revenge and why but for only one character. Now intrigued and want to know the other revenge plot and the why.
Marc showed just command to show his Dom side, I’m curious if more of that side of him will be revealed. Knowing why he treated Rachel as he did, still makes the curious one in me want to see more of his bossiness.
All in all pretty righteous read, grab it I recommend it to you. Enjoy

In this part 1 of a 4 part serial we find out that Ellie had been abducted, sexually abused and beaten for two years by a group of men. Years later she is out for revenge. In order for her plan to work she uses a fake identity and becomes Rachel. Ellie's ordeal left her uninterested in sex but one night she feels she's ready to be intimate with a man. She's in a bar and spots Alexander who she is immediately attracted to. She picks him up and they spend several erotic hours together. Alexander was trying to find the same man in the criminal world that Ellie was and was also using a fake name of Marc. So Alexander and Ellie knew each other as Marc and Rachel.

After their night together, Marc wanted to see Rachel again but she left without a word. Of course he couldn't find her since he didn't even know her true identity.

Since most of the book was one very detailed sex scene it's hard to say it was a good story. Now the sex was well written but I didn't feel there was much of a plot to the story. I guess it's an introduction to the rest of the story but a confusing introduction with both the main characters using fake names.

At one point there was talk of dom/sub sex interest by Alexander but even though that's what he liked he didn't do anything about it with Ellie.

I'm not a fan of serials so that probably has a lot to do with why I wasn't crazy about this book.

Alexander/Marc and Ellie/Rachel are both trained killers that meet in a bar in the seedy part of Saint Denis France. Ellie had been kidnapped and raped repeatedly over a two year span 6 years earlier, when she finally left her captivity she became a woman with a vengeance and started training as an assassin with the plans on taking out everyone that had raped her in the two years she was held. Alexander is also an assassin his story is a little different from Ellie's and I'm sure we don't know the full extent of his story. The chemistry is evident when they start talking to one another.
This looks like it is going to be another great series by Tara Crescent. We are left with a huge cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next book to come out!

I received this book for an honest review.
Ellie is on a path of revenge. Determined to make the man who kidnapped her 6 years ago pay she's joined forces with another to become the killer she needs to be. What she doesn't count on is meeting Alexander. He's supposed to be a distraction, a one night of passion to help her past some of her demons, she never expects to find the connection with him that she does. Both have secrets they are hiding but do those secrets intersect?
This is by far my favorite Tara Crescent book to date. The author lets you feel the pain of Ellie's past without going into disturbing detail but still letting you know just how horrific it was. Alex is a yummy little mystery with a hint of a past but you don't find out yet what it is. They both have strength from past pain that seems to help them click like to kindred souls. I very much enjoyed their banter and playfulness and the heat between them was steamy! This book is the start of a series so it's not a standalone and ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so if you're someone who doesn't like cliffhangers TBR it for now and get it when the complete series is available! If you don't mind a little anticipation read it now!

Wow! So I was provided a copy of this book for an honest review. And this one is SO easy to do! I just love a good romance....just a little trip away from my everyday. Throw in some fabulous chemistry and I'm hooked. But add in some suspense, mystery and keep me guessing and I am over the moon! This book has all of that and more! Love how Tara introduces us to her characters....we get bits and pieces that are like getting to know a new friend and as you read, you get more and more and you find you want to spend more time with them getting to know more about them. I absolutely LOVED this story. I sat down today and started it and I didn't put it down until I finished it. I know I'm going to be anxiously awaiting the next book and regardless of what I am reading when it comes out, it will be dropped quickly so I can jump it to learn what is happening next! Thanks for a great start of the series!

I was given an arc of Found in exchange for a honest review. When I read the blurb on the book I was very excited for what seemed would be a dark and twisted romance. I was excited about reading something out of my comfort zone.

When I first started to read this book I was intrigued by the multiple POV’s between Ellie and Alexander. Both of these two main characters have dark backgrounds that affect how they interact with present day characters.

When these two characters clash together in the throws on passion I thought that this book would become very interesting. Unfortunately I was disappointed in how the book progressed, it seemed to fizzle out.

The only saving grace that the end of this book has is the last scene when you are left on a cliff hanger. I’ll be honest and tell you that I would read the second book just to see if it was any better than the first and to see what happens with

Holy freaking macarroni!!! I have no idea how I came across this book, but I am freaking glad I did !!!
I have to admit I consider myself an avid reader, but I am not a big fan of serial novels, to be honest, I am actually more incline to hate them, since patience is not a virtue God bestow on me.....but this story is amazing and completely draws you in an I am so going to wait for the next installment.
In short is a perfect combination of old fashion one night stand romance (if there is such think LOL), cold blooded and goal orientated assasins, good old Russian enemies, the shady world of sex slaves in places like Thailand we all heard about but still want to deny and a promise of a healthy dose of BDSM with out the "I am a lovely naive virgin" we all read and met up to now!
My only problem?... it was too freaking short and now I have to wait a week or so for the next chapter...

Crescent's new Assassin's Revenge series pulls you in from the beginning, with the peculiarity of the main characters having two names. Immediately intrigued, the book progresses quickly as both the action and heat-inducing romance pick up pace. Alexander/Marc and Ellie/Rachel are interesting and fleshed out characters who manage to be both mysterious and revealing at times. With love scenes that left me gasping for breath yet begging for more and characters that I immediately became invested in, this book should be on your must-read list! I for one cannot wait for the next installment. Literally unable to put it down, I read the book in one sitting. It would not surprise me if many of you do the same.

Rachel was kidnapped when she was in her teens by an evil man that made her his sex slave. She escaped, and with the help of a friend, is out for revenge. Marc and Rachel meet in a seedy bar in Paris, he takes her home and they spend the night together. The next day, Marc drops Rachel off at what he thinks is her apartment. When he calls her the next day, Rachel has disappeared. Marc has his own agenda so he tries not to think about Rachel, but he doesn't forget her. Two years later he sees her again in the last place he would expect. . . Wow, what a fantastic book! I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

WOW, this story is such a great romantic suspense novel. It is a novella and it grabs you from the very first page and doesn't let go even on the last page. I am so looking forward to the next story in this series. I started reading this and the next thing I knew I finished it without stopping. It was real and gritty and tough, but had some very hot scenes in it. The two character point of view really works for this story and adds to the drama. I can't wait to see how the characters develop, especially once they find out their connection.

So this is good . Ellie is a trained assassin. She has trained for years to be able to get revenge on the men who kidnapped and raped her when she was younger. She meets Alexander at a bar and there is an actual connection. But she can't indulge in it because it will interfere with her plans.

The draw back is that it doesn't end. It is more of a serial. So I will need to get the next book and then the next to get the whole story. And I will . Just not my favorite thing.

This is a well written episode in a serial that has me hooked, and that isn't an easy accomplishment. I like my stories with solid beginnings and endings, but this is one of those rare exceptions. Great character development, strong suspense, and some serious spice to keep it more than interesting. Episode 2 is calling...

5 Stars!!
Found (Assassin's Revenge Book 1) is the 1st installment in a new series. It is a great start as well. The main characters have many secrets and have tragic pasts.
Rachel/Ellie is an assassin and is out for revenge. Ellie was kidnapped 6 years ago and held as a sex slave. Her entire life revolves around getting revenge on the man/master and his guards. She has already a few of the guards, when the story begins. Ellie has been using the identity of Rachel to find and kill Dylan McAllister. She doesn't get close to men and fears intimacy, because all of that she suffered at the hands of Dylan and his men.
Marc/Alexander is a man of mystery. He has money and connections, but also hides behind the identity of a thief. We don't know much about Marc/Alexander. We do know that he has an agenda and seems to be going after Dylan also. Marc meets Rachel in a bar and is instantly drawn to her. Marc plays Truth or Dare with Rachel. He can tell that she is confident and strong, but scared and nervous at the same time. They both know that the other is lying and hiding things. They go back to Marc/Alexander's house to spend the night together. Marc/Alexander calls Ellie/Rachel 'bright star' during their time together.
After their one night together, Marc/Alexander hopes to see Ellie/Rachel again. He gets her phone number and calls Rachel's phone so she has Marc's number. On her way back home, Ellie/Rachel destroys the phone and cries knowing that she will see Marc/Alexander again. Rachel also realized that Marc could have been her future that she didn't know that she wanted. When Marc/Alexander tries to call Rachel and the number is not in service, he knows that he would have loved to get to know her better. While each two were having their night together, one of Marc's men was killed. He tells the man's pregnant girlfriend that he would take care of her. Marc seems to really care for his men.
Marc/Alexander does see Ellie/Rachel again at the end of the story. Ellie/Rachel is going by Jenny. She is to be auctioned off as a consensual slave, and Marc/Alexander is there with his girlfriend.
This story does end in a cliffhanger. It leaves you wanting to know what is going to happen next. I have already purchased the next story in the series, Bought (Assassin's Revenge Book 2). I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves erotic romance, suspense and mystery. This is not the first book that I have read by this author, and it will definitely not be my last. I loved the twists and turns of the story. I loved that Marc and Rachel had sizzling chemistry and a hot passion. I really felt for both of the main characters. I wanted to see them grow and find happiness. Call me sappy. I want a HEA for Ellie and Alexander. One of my favorite lines was; "You have to be whole to love.."

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinions or the content of my review.

Found by Tara Crescent is an enthralling erotic romance. It captured my attention from the very first page. I could not put it down once I started to read it. Found is the first book in the Assassin’s Revenge series and I can’t wait to find out how the rest of the story unfolds. I found the characters and their backstories interesting. Found is the first book I have read by this author and it has only whet my appetite for more. I am sure I will be enjoying many of her other books before too soon.

Rachel/Ellie is out to get revenge on the men who kidnapped and brutally raped. It is her only mission in life. She has changed over the years and is a trained assassin. She knows what she is doing and she isn’t going to stop until her goal is reached. They had changed her life forever and they needed to pay for it. When she sees Marc/Alexander in a bar he awakens something within her that she never knew existed. She decides that she wants to explore it but only for the night. She can’t afford to have any distractions. When the night is through she doesn’t intend to see him again but fate may have a different plan. What will she do if their paths cross again? Will she ever be able to forget that night?

I really enjoyed Rachel’s character. I liked that she refused to be a victim after the horrors that she had gone through. She could have ended up being a mousy person always stuck in fear and never leaving her house. I liked that she was able to face up to her fears too when it came to Marc/Alexander. The chemistry between the two of them was undeniable. I would have liked to see more interaction between the two of them but I am sure that I will get to in the sequels. I also found Marc/Alexander’s character interesting. I liked that he wasn’t the way he would normally be with her because he knew that it wasn’t what she needed. I do think that had they had more than one night together that she would have blossomed even more under his touch. I am interested to see how his character evolves in the rest of the series.

I would recommend Found to anyone who enjoys a good erotic romance. I would also recommend it to those who are not looking for your everyday run of the mill erotic romances as well. It isn’t for everyone but I think that those who enjoy stories that are a bit on the gritty side will really enjoy Found. I am eagerly awaiting the sequels.
