Riley’s journey continues in the third installment of the Find Me series. With the promise of a better life on the horizon, she reluctantly leaves the Laguna Mountains of Southern California behind for the good of her group. But not everyone makes the trip. During her struggle to come to terms with the choices she’s made in the past, Riley turns to her inner circle for hope. But finding it will be more difficult than she ever imagined when her choices come back to haunt her. She’s lost her family. She’s lost friends. She’s lost love. And now in Finding Hope, Riley just might lose herself. As some questions are answered, others are created. Who will survive? And will hope be found?
First you have to read these books in order, otherwise nothing that happens here makes sense.
Things are not as it seems at the little colony our survivors find themselves as. And without pulling in spoilers. How much more can Riley go through. Sometimes you find strength in not giving up and just putting one foot in front of the others.
A lot happens in Book 3... New love, old love, pain, death, and surviving when all you want to do is curl up in a ball.
I love the characters, by now you feel like you're going through everything with them. I can't wait for book 4, to see if Riley and the rest of the survivors do find the hope they were looking for in this book
I'm not likely to remember ALL of the things I experienced while reading this / wanted to mention but I'll give it a go ...
First of all ... from the very first couple paragraphs I felt like , "whoa, her writing's really improved." As a big fan of her writing from the beginning I'm not saying it needed improvement or that I'd found anything wrong with it - I just felt like there was a noticeable difference in this book. She's clearly spent a lot of time and worked really hard on this one. Her descriptions are stellar: they give a clear picture without being super wordy and adding length to the book or losing my spastic attention. At the same time they are different than most - they alone serve to give this book a much darker feel. After everything our regular characters went through in the first two installments, a darker tone was certainly implied - as well as some of the events themselves. But even when awful things aren't happening, the mood is set - and it is on a dark setting and it is glorious.
I love how Dawson did so well at making the whole mood/feel of the book just adapt to the times we've found everyone in. Finding Hope does pick up pretty much right where Lost & Found left off - just as Lost & Found did with I Hope You Find Me - yet has a very different feel to it at the same time.
When characters say and think things like, "I'll rip out the man's spine and wear it as a scarf." I'm hooked. I love the originality and violence in such a simple statement. Many times she made me smile despite the morbid happenings.
I feel like some of the questions that popped up in Book 1 have been answered but certainly others spring up in this action and drama-packed installment. I'll also issue a fair warning - this book ends on a cliff hanger of sorts. With this ending, I am going kind of nuts - definitely leaves me wanting more but also leaves me frustrated because I wanted so long for this installment and now I must wait longer to figure out what the heck happens...
Cover: Gorgeous and professionally done - and fits with the story brilliantly. Continuity: no beefs here - well done. Editing/Proofing: Very well done - only caught a few typos. Formatting: book has a professional appearance. Character development: Utterly brilliant. All of them stay true to character throughout their time in the series. With some of them you can even see the exact moment they lose their minds - the how/why/when/where of it happening and almost hear the snap their brain must be making. When things happen that do prompt them to change in this way - the characters are not lost. Even when out of their minds you can still sense them in there somewhere - this was done magically - and with more than one of the beloved regulars of this series.
I highly recommend this series to readers of all genres as there's mystery, no shortage of action and loads of drama. I'll be re-reading this whole series for sure - cannot wait to dive in again.
did not like this book. loved the first one, read the second to see what happened and the the third. won't read the next one. how one woman can loose her family and in the space of few months sleep with not one but two men and have a third lusting after her, just not beleavable. she is safe then she keeps getting into things that you know are not good ideas and the things she survives are not believable at least try to make it seem like these things could happen.
maybe don’t read beyond the “to be continued...” at the end
I’m giving this one a 5 because I loved it. I think this was the best one so far, I couldn’t put it down. Now with that said I’m kind of mad about what I can only assume is a snippet from the next book. I’ll have to read the next one to be sure, but maybe don’t read anything after the words “to be continued...” at the end just in case.
Third book in. It continued to capture my attention. I feel like there are still major questions that have yet to be answered for this story, such as the ghosts. I know there is one remaining book. I don't know how someone could conceivably answer all of those questions in one book, but I guess I'm going to find out.

Wow some of that was hard to read and I knew Riley would me him again and he got his. What comes around goes around. And it certainly did. I can't wait to read number 4. I Hope You Find Her
There were lots of surprises. Things are moving so fast the sorrow you feel for everyone makes you sad, but you have to find out how this world ends! I love a book that makers me laugh, cry, and get excited. This series does all!
All I can say is OMG! This book and the whole series is intense and exciting to begin with, but this one took it up a notch and shoved it in a blender and sent the characters whirling around for an intense read. That's truly worth some of the painful parts, which unfortunately there's a few, but I couldn't put down this book. There's so much that has happened by the end you will be begging for the next, especially when you read the blurb for it, and believe me it sounds amazing and frightening....
This book is an amazing addition to the series. It is a bit different than the other 2. But I think that's to be expected. Just like any person grows and changes with experience. A book series needs to grow and change with the experiences of the characters. There is adventure, unexpected love, heart ache, betrayal, fear, mania, and the need to find hope in the darkest of times. It's all quite intense. The way Trish writes draws you in, takes hold of you, and doesn't let go until the very end. Even after that, you're left thinking about the book and its characters for days.
There's much going on in this book. The characters rarely find a moment of peace, never mind hope. Still, the story grabbed me and held me to the end.
I sure hope there isn't as big a wait for book 4 as there was for book 3. There was roughly 9 months between 1&2, but 25 months between 2&3! So much so, that I had to pause about 10 pages in and go back and re-read major portions of book 2 just to remind myself what had even happened. That is entirely too long between installments and a good way to lose reader interest. Fingers crossed the next one is more timely!
Was a good book and quick read. I liked where the characters went in this book. I did somehow think this would be the final one and didn't realize that this one would continue on. One thing I would suggest is to at least give the reader a bit of background on what happened previously...it has been so long between releases that I couldn't remember some of what happened previously and didn't haved time to re-read the two previous ones
It appears there is going to be more to this story, after all. This series will leave you wondering if survival is all it's cracked up to be. Riley has escaped with her life more than once, but the cost is overwhelming, to say the least. The world around her is barely more than decay, smoke and absolute heartache, but she isn't letting go for one heartbeat. I cannot wait to see where her journey ends.
I thought Lost & Found was draining, that was a cake walk compared to Finding Hope. Holy blood and devastation, Batman! I actually cringed and had to skim through two or three scenes in this one. I still whole-heartedly recommend this series, but yikes! Poor Riley! Poor Jacks! And Connor, and Drake! At the end of this one I just stared at the page and wanted to reach in to give Riley a tight hug. Need book 4 NOW!!!!
There is honestly no way for me to put into words how much I loved reading this series. I just finished the third book to be disappointed the 4th hasn't been released. There is so much emotion in this book that it's like riding a roller coaster. I thought the series was very well put together, I didn't find a boring part to it. I just hope book 4 comes out soon, I'm not sure any other book I read in the mean time will be able to compare.
I really loved books one and two in this series but book three was good but not great. The continuity of the series seemed off and book three didn't really flow with the story arc. I will continue to read the series hoping book four will fill in some holes and advance the story.
I loved this book! I read it in just two days. It took me until this book to get fully immersed in the series but now I'm totally hooked. I can't wait until the next one comes out. I felt the story really expanded and came to life in this book where it was slow to take off in the others. The only bad part is that it ended too quickly!
