David Barton is the Founder and President of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America's forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our moral, religious and constitutional heritage.

WallBuilders is a name taken from the Old Testament writings of Nehemiah, who led a grassroots movement to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and restore its strength and honor. In the same way, WallBuilders seeks to energize the grassroots today to become involved in strengthening their communities, states, and nation.

David is the author of numerous best-selling books, with the subjects being drawn largely from his massive library of tens of thousands of original writings from the Founding Era. He also addresses well over 400 groups each year.

His exhaustive research has rendered him an expert in historical and constitutional issues and he serves as a consultant to state and federal legislators, has participated in several cases at the Supreme Court, was involved in the development of the History/Social Studies standards for states such as Texas and California, and has helped produce history textbooks now used in schools across the nation.

Should be required reading

This book should be required reading in every schoolhouse in this country. Maybe some of the youth of today who feel so "entitled" could look at this country a little differently and see how truly blessed Americans are.

I was so excited to get this book. I knew it would be good. But then I opened it up and found that it was going to challenge me. There’s so much good information, but it is not a Reed that you can coast through. You need to engage your brain. If you do, you’ll be rewarded with a Rich history about each one of the designers of the declaration of independence.

There’s lots of things brought to Light that many do not know about these men. Specifically what cost they paid in being willing to stand up for liberty and justice in a time where the odds were not in favor of the colonist to prevail.

What I found to make this Reed more pleasurable was to read estate at a time. Then I had it clear and concise goal to feel like I got through a portion of the book without feeling overwhelmed or way down by this year amount of information you’ll learn in reading about each man.

My favorite part was hearing about how others referred to them. The direct quote from original sources is truly powerful and reiterate points made about each of them in. We can take confidence, knowing that these men were in a place that only God could ordain to make all this happen. It is a true miracle. I’m so grateful for the Bartons and all the books they have written to bring Light to the actual history of our nation and the people who made it possible.

Preachy. Interesting only because the founding of the United States is interesting. You can tell the author’s goal is not to tell you something new or interesting about the founders, but rather to give you basic information about their lives to facilitate a religious rhetoric they hope will frame the United States as being founded as a Christian nation. Can’t open to a page without being extolled on the founders deep faith, dare they use any quote that isn’t biblical in nature.
