The final chapter for Max and Carla!
Carla has been kidnapped and Max awakes in hospital with amnesia, branded a murderer and terrorist. Helped by a NEW psychotic girlfriend (Star), Max goes on the run and steals money from drug gangs and arranges new identities as they seek refuge abroad. All the while Carla breaks free and heads on to solve more missions on her own, while she tries to trace Max and Star to a pacific atoll.
It is all a case of wrong place, wrong time as all involved stumble upon a secret that is too dreadful to be exposed, but a love triangle already threatens to do just that!
Is this the end for the Max and Carla duo?
Has Carla been replaced and forgotten?
You will have to read it yourself, in order to find out!

John Day's stories just keep getting BETTER AND BETTER!
But I must say I am sad to have finished this amazing series which had me hooked from the start. I awarded Fugitive five stars as it was the perfect ending to a great series, I enjoyed. It is also well written, easy to read and VERY fast paced! Fugitive is another action, crime, spy thriller and adventure packed story that I would highly recommend to you all! I will say this again as I have always said, do not judge a book by its cover as you will miss out on fabulous stories like this series! The series does need to be read in order, but it is one you will not forget easily and one for your wishlist! If you are looking for a new author or series to indulge in I would highly recommend John Day!
Enjoy I did.

“Fugitive” is definitely a must-read for every spy thriller fan. It has everything: a quickly paced narration that keeps you on edge, interesting characters, exotic locations, government conspiracies and even a deadly virus threatening to wipe out the Earth population.
Max and Carla, two agents working for the Organization, get separated when Carla is kidnapped by her father Philippe; Max loses his memory in the accident while pursuing their car, and the two will have to go through hell to find each other once again. Russian mobsters, mentally unstable Max’s new girlfriend Star and the dangerous task concerning the pharmaceutical company in New York would make their reconciliation seem impossible, but there’s nothing Carla won’t do to save her beloved one.
Impossible to put down, “Fugitive” made me want to read the other books in the series. Great, gripping read!

I got it free from Amazon.
I have read this book and it is so much more than a person on the run. Oddly, many of the characters are on the run or at least seriously criminal. However, the tale addresses the real issues if you are a fugitive and what you do about it to survive and live a full life.

The Security Forces and the FBI are also hunting for Max Fortune as well as Max's agent and lover partner. He has amnesia, so he knows nothing at all about her or his past.

One thing you need, if you plan to bugger off and live in paradise, is stacks of money. One of the main characters has his own moral code, even though he is branded a murderer and terrorist. That leaves him with only one source of money and he, with the help of his nut-job girlfriend manage to piss off some seriously vicious and revengeful criminals.

Here you will discover just how cunning and resourceful Max can be as he places himself, knowingly the wrong end of the criminals gun.

So Max and 'Star' (the Psyco girlfriend) want to leave London and go to the exotic Pacific Islands, so they need genuine identities, which they have to steal. The part of the story here is grim, gory and very dark, but you really start to get the full measure of Max & Star at this point. Ask yourself, in their position, how far would you go?

Now they are relaxed and enjoying the freedom they have strived for. Max starts the day with a bang that he and Star enjoyed, I did.

Sadly, fate steps in and they are in such serious trouble, that what went before was just an irritation. They are stranded on what appears to be a deserted island, when the inter island plane crashes. Well, you guessed it, the news goes world wide just who the two passengers are and now everyone is looking for them. The last thing Max & Star need.

Not only that, the island is not deserted. There are seriously F***** up natives there and people in hazmat suits. They do not want anyone on the island either. But it is so much worse than that, Carla, Max's lover joins in with all the others who are closing in. The people in hazmat suits have a disaster on their hands. Carla meets Star and they both want Max, (me too), but how will all that work out? But there is so much more than that, there is more foreplay before the unexpected climax to this awesome story.

If you think this had spoilers, you are mistaken, this is one mother of a book and I only scratched the surface.

Max and Carla are at it again, on their big adventures full of danger and always life-threatening! Except this time a complication arises and Max ends up in the hospital without any recollection of who he is or why the authorities are out to get him. In fact, the feds are always after Max and Carla. Why? Well they wok for a super under cover agency called The Organisation and they do a lot of under-handed business getting things done. Because Max escapes, Carla and The Organisation cannot seem to locate him. Because he is still recovering, he needs someone to look after him until he is well. It so happens that Max meets a girl on the streets who nurses him back to health and gets in on his plan of getting cash and starting to build real identities for themselves so they won't have to worry about the authorities always chasing them. This girl, Star, turns out to be something vastly different than what Max had thought. In a confession to him one night, she tells him that she's basically a serial killer with a mental problem and she broke out of an institution. And now Max wonders if his life is also in danger from her, but he goes with it and carries out several nefarious plans involving local drug gangs. All the while, Carla is desperately seeking him while on a mission for The Organisation. She is determined to get him back no matter what!

I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller by John Day! It has tons of adventure and energy to it so you are guaranteed to never get bored with it! I especially like the idea of introducing a possible new love interest for Max and the whole amnesia thing. Since he can't seem to remember who he was before, he goes on with his life. What is funny is that he is doing almost the same thing he would have been doing under The Organisation. However, he is good enough to even avoid their eye for quite a while which is quite a feat for anyone. If you like thrillers, then you should look into this one!

I was given Fugitive for an honest review by John Day

Carla and Max have just completed another successful mission and are ready to fly off for their next assignment for the Organization only to be ambushed as they were leaving a party.

Now Carla is being held prisoner by her egomaniacal father who wants to use her to hurt Max, only thing in his way is Max in the hospital. In the mean time Carla plans her escape.

Max wakes up from a long nap in a hospital and has no clue how he got there or who he is, just that he is a wanted man and he needs to escape before the authorities get him.

Star is the psychotic bitch with need to fix things and when she finds Max injured, she finds him a place to lay low and recover so she can fix him. Yes I hate her and I hated even more by the end of the book, she was devious and lacked any sense of self recrimination for her bad deeds. I was seriously worried that she would at some point turn on Max and given more time I am sure she would have, especially if he had gotten his memory back and gone looking for Carla.

I was so freaking hoping that Carla would find Max before he did the naughty with psycho bitch Star but alas it was not to be and the steam from the boinking was coming off the pages even if Max was banging the WRONG woman and Carla humped the WRONG guy. I guess I really shouldn’t complain because one it made one hell of a good read this time and two the next book will probably be smokin’ hot when Carla and Max finally get over their guilt and finally have the always anticipated make-up sex because I am betting it will rock the universe.

This is the 3rd book in the Carla and Max series. Book 2 ended with a real cliffhanger which had me downloading this book straight away.

I am growing to really love John Day's books they are thrillers with a totally different and unique twist and have a bit of comedy interlaced among the action. There are also some steamy sex scenes, which personally I could do without but they appeal to a lot of people so I can live with them.

The book picks up where Fire Ice was left and we find Max has lost his memory. The book then splits into 2 different stories as we follow Carla as she tries to continue with her job and trying to find Max at the same time. The other story follows Max as he goes on the run from just about everyone and ends up being helped by a young woman with many issues.

As I have grown to expect from John the book is action packed and we see several dangling threads from book 1 and 2 brought together in a totally riveting finale.

I am not sure if John is planning any further books but there are options there if he decides to continue but no unanswered questions which is a very big bonus in my opinion.

All John's books are well written and expertly proof read so contain none of the typos and grammatical errors you tend to find in books by self published authors.

I recommend this book to any thriller readers and to anyone who is looking for something a little bit different from an author who can definitely think 'outside the box'. Well worth the 5 stars.

Third in the series....

A good series conclusion, lots of intrigue on every page. Brian (GBR) provides a good narrative (text to speech). Back to string surfing for another series.
