I received this book for an honest review. Evelyn is so afraid of disappointing her mother that she lives her life in secret always worried about being caught doing the things or spending time with those she loves. Her biggest secret? She's been dating William the son of her Mom's boyfriend for months ever since her Mom and his Dad first introduced them. The problem with secrets and lies? Is that the lies tend to keep piling up and when the truth comes out people get hurt. Can she fess up before she loses everything? Evelyn drove me nuts, when are you going to grow up and stand your ground with your mom? Aren't your dreams and the man you love worth fighting for? Especially a man like William, sweet, sexy, intelligent, and supportive he deserves so much more than to be her dirty little secret. I liked Evelyn I just wanted to see her fight for what she wants. I will say despite my frustrations with Evelyn I did enjoy the story and was rooting for her to wake up before it was too late. I also liked the parents which surprised me as in most stepbrother romances I've read usually one of the parents is a bit of a step-monster. My only complaint is I wished the book was a little longer and kept going past where it did, maybe there's a chance for a second book with a look into the future?? This is a standalone with no cliffhanger.
