One voice on a crisis line. One night in October. One man who laughed after the panic broke and said sorry, I don't usually fall apart for strangers.
I should have logged the call and moved on.
Instead, I pulled his file and learned his name. Then his address, where he works... his schedule. I found his social media and learned his favorite foods, favorite places to go.
I traded shifts to be the one who picks up when he calls every Monday and Wednesday. Same voice. Same fear. Same quiet that comes after, when he trusts me with things he's never said out loud.
He doesn't know I'm parked outside his building.
He doesn't know I've walked his halls.
He doesn't know that on Halloween night, when the dark finally breaks him, I'll be the one at his door.
Not because I'm saving him...
Because he's mine. He just doesn't know it yet.

Ommmmg!!! I've been here since the beginning of stalker in the woods series and have tried to read all that followed those and these MM are chefs kiss!!!!! Haven is stuck with me as a fan for life
I LOVED this book OH-SO-MUCH!!!! It wasn’t quite as dark as I had been expecting, but it was still soooo good!!! I could not put it down.
I loved both characters. Milo was an interesting character—certainly the most anxious character I’ve read about! That was part of his charm, certainly. Let's just say that I saw a lot of myself in him.
Meanwhile, Brantley is really just the sweetest psychopath I’ve ever read about. X3 I know he’s supposed to be a bad guy, and if this was IRL, he most certainly would be, but thankfully it’s fiction so I’m allowed to love him.
I would recommend this book to readers who love reading about secret manipulation in romance, a possessive obsession, and morally black love interests. It’s def not for readers who need wholesome relationships or clear consent as this dark romance does have noncon.

This one was good but a little wordy than I would’ve liked for a short story. I did like the characters though and the storyline. Perfect book for those Halloween vibes.
