During the worst winter America has ever seen, an EMP destroys the grid and leaves millions freezing in the dark. Jack gets his family to a remote cabin, hoping the forest will hide them. But the blizzard is not the threat he should fear most.
Exciting story of ingenuity, integrity, and heroism! Good characters brought to life in action. Evil outwitted! Life affirmed many times. HOPE MOVED MOUNTAINS. Good story but could tone down the violence to make it more real!
An extremely realistic story line, of what can happen when the world go wild, and Bad Humans try to take over the innocent citizens when an EMP occurs.... our heroes get hurt, and we loose some good people, but in the end, our "good family" lives to carry on, in a world that has been shifted back to the year 1800, no electricity, phones, computers, just honest work to stay alive.
Yes lots of action and endless peril, but very definitely not a saga to remember. Almost every character in the story has a near death experience within 30 minutes of the beginning of the book. They drove for two days without needing gas, and apparently never needed to fill up. They start a fire in a building to heat water that fills three big barrels, uh no. The smoke would have escaped the building and given their location a way.
Editing was good outline of the story I found interesting, but no follow up on the rest of the work, no real in depth character development or deep story line. It is in essence a short story.
What an absolute stellar read! The kind of book you put down reluctantly, then hurry as fast as you can to get back to it. The characters are completely relatable. The concept of the book is, in itself, frightening, because it could happen so easily, and in so many different ways. Respect to the author for a job well done……. very well done!
I just randomly picked this book out of a collection of 100’s of preppers and survivors of various vile things in America and her enemies. It was well worth the time spent reading. A 5 out of 5!
I enjoyed the book and liked the characters. The plot was not timed as well as I half hoped. And I felt the ending left too many loose ends. But it was worth reading.
I really enjoyed this book! It was easy to get into, the pace was phenomenal, and the storyline believable. I certainly would recommend it to people who enjoy EMP related stories.
EMP Quite Embers: An EMP Post Apocalypse Prepped Survival Thriller
This a fantastic book a lot of stuff going on and a lot of different plots going on. You think you know how and what is going on but you're thrown a curve ball. Really good read
Did not care for the foul language in parts of the book. Otherwise, well written. You could feel the anxiety and fear. Definitely a book that was hard to put down.
