Worse than the first one. This installment was pure bureaucracy with barely a real story to speak of.

Maybe the author has never had a job outside of writing, but I deal with enough bureaucracy at work every day. I certainly don’t need it showing up in my cozy stories—especially when this one barely felt cozy at all.

So much of the book was legal mumbo jumbo, miscommunication, and bureaucratic nonsense. I hate miscommunication. I hate bureaucracy. Needless to say, I hated this installment.

What a waste of an opportunity. There was so much potential here, and unfortunately, this story never delivered.

So I really wanted to like this series. Book 1 was interesting take on Cozy OP Litrpg. This book I ended up DNF'ing at around 68%. I just couldn't read it. I felt the author wrote himself into a corner or needed an editor to help with formatting and descriptions. It got so repetitive. OP would describe what he sees, then another character would describe what OP sees/is experiencing, then the System would agree or note what OP sees/experiences. Rinse and Repeat for chapters on end. I wanted more action/story telling. Half the book was individuals coming in to do testing on the Inn and what it does which wasn't that interesting. Read Book 1, skip book 2.

The reader notes that the style of writing was intriguing at first.
The reader notes that the writing became interesting.
The reader note that intriguing and interesting may have a specific relationship.
The reader notes that the writing style soon became monotonous.

The author should take note of this.
The author should also note that mentioning an event happened in book one in the context of a paragraph in book two, in this readers opinion, is undeniably ridiculous.

Beginning softly and lightly, it becomes deeper the farther you go.

Heartfelt Story

I really liked the sweet moments. I liked the new history plot. At one point it seemed like the timeline was off.
