At the beginning of the book I thought this would be a 4 ⭐️ read but then it started going downhill. The fmc is the only thing that saved this book for me so for her alone, I’m rating it 3 ⭐️’s. She was funny, likeable and relatable. Everything was great until the 3 mmc’s brought her back to their compound. I didn’t like them, they all had the same thought process and it was hard to tell them apart at times. The only difference is, one of them, Havoc is slightly more unhinged than the other two but I still didn’t connect with them. I didn’t see or feel any connection between them and the fmc. Honestly, they weren’t likeable and were actually kinda assholes.

This book was ok. I enjoyed it. Fell in love with Vale. Laughed way too much at Havoc. Wanted to smash Knox in the face so hard his icy outter shell shattered so I could see what hid beneath. I love Lena's sarcastic attitude and the fact she had the balls to go toe to toe with 3 psychopaths. On the down side for me the book ended to soon. Nothing was really explained properly or fully resolved and I was left with sooo many questions that won't get an answer and that fricking bugs me. But all in all a good book.

Being kidnapped and waking up tied to a chair with three masked men staring down at her definitely wasn't on her bingo card. Lena has no idea why she's been taken. She's just a barista with no family, no powerful connections, and no secrets worth stealing. So why won't these three men let her go? They insist she's safe, that they’ll protect her. The circumstances, however, suggest otherwise. There's Havoc, whose wicked laughter is almost as unsettling as his love of violence. He embraces his darker nature without apology. Then there's Vale, the scarred and silent one, who treats desire like a punishment rather than a pleasure. And finally, Knox, the leader. Calm, capable, and always in control... until Lena crashes into their carefully ordered world. But Lena isn't as random as she appears, and as the truth begins to unravel, it becomes clear that there's far more at stake than anyone realizes. As danger closes in, Lena finds herself increasingly dependent on the very men who refuse to let her go. As she gets closer to them, Lena begins to see past the walls they've built around themselves. Beneath the darkness lies devotion, vulnerability, and a connection none of them expected. For the first time, she feels truly seen—not as an afterthought. Not as someone forgettable or overlooked, but as someone who matters, someone worth protecting, wanting, and fighting for. They recognize her strength and resilience, creating a bond that feels earned amidst all the chaos and danger surrounding them. The story barely gives you a chance to breathe, and I loved every second of it. The pacing is relentless, with each revelation pulling me deeper into the mystery and suspense, especially as Lena's true significance came to light. One of my favorite aspects was Lena herself. Her feisty personality and sharp, snarky humor made her incredibly easy to root for. She uses wit as both a shield and a weapon, and her banter with the men was consistently entertaining. Despite the darker themes, there were plenty of genuinely funny moments throughout the book—many courtesy of Havoc, who always seemed ready with the perfect comeback. I'm not sure whether this is intended to be a standalone or the beginning of a series, but there are definitely enough unanswered questions to leave the door open for more. Personally, I'd love to spend more time with these four characters. And finally, I have to mention the cover. I've read Tess's books before, but this cover might be the best hook she's ever had. It grabbed my attention before I'd even read the blurb. Spooky, intriguing, and just a little bit delicious—it was impossible to resist.

Plot: 3.5/5 • Spice: 4/5 ➡️➡️➡️ The only thing I knew about this one before I dive in was that it was a RH. That’s it. That was the only qualification I needed.
Little orphan Lena survives. That’s it. Works, pays bills, and survives. She’s a foster girl with no family and no backstory. So when she goes on a date with someone from a dating app she’s hesitant. With good reason too. Dude drugs her and she wakes up tied to a chair on a warehouse.
Knox, Vale and Havoc were in that warehouse for other reasons. They killed everyone inside. So goodie for her. They take her with them after a little chit chat.
When she’s fully conscious and coherent again they begin to reveal their identity. She’s obviously attracted to all of them. They are in a somewhat secret society called “The brotherhood”. Means nothing to Lena. She has no idea wtf that means.
People have been watching and stalking Lena. She fell under the false pretenses that no family and no background means she was just a nobody. The guys take over protecting her. Vale gets injured gathering up some of her belongings. The hotel they’re staying at gets torched. They trust the wrong people.
Things get a little confusing towards the end. Big ol revelations come to light with very little explanation. How convenient. 😑 I thought this was a standalone? Doesn’t look like it. It sets you up for book two in the last page.

An intense, dark RH romance!
This was an amazing story I couldn’t get enough of. The plot was flowing, dark, with a lot of action, secrets, mystery, a secret society of sorts and so much more that kept me glued to my kindle from first to last page! Lena was an amazing heroine – strong, determined, not unafraid but brave (because being brave means facing your fears head on). She is one of the best heroines I’ve read in a long time and I appreciated her so much! Now, the guys – Vale, Knox and Havoc – were equally amazing in their flaws, pain, past insecurities that shaped and formed their psychology. Each had their own demons to face and seeing and understanding their coping mechanisms made me feel for them all. I loved how devoted and honest the four of them are together when they get at that point (the way there is a turbulent one) and how protective the guys are towards Lena, whose past and connection with the entire situation blew my mind. The books ends up with lose ends – not a cliffy exactly (HEA or at least HFN is a fact) but with the certainty that the main situation is not entirely solved and our four MCs will have to prepare for the uncertainty and the danger of what the future will bring. 5 stars!

This was a page turner from the beginning. Lena a barista, who grew up in foster care is encouraged by friends to put her profile on a dating app. She ends up tied up in a basement after being drugged by her ‘date,” Enter 3 men wearing masks who kill the people holding Lena, they don’t know what she knows, so she is taken to a compound. Lena feels she has traded one kidnapping for another. She gradually meets her new captors, Vale, a scarred man inside and out, but has a kindness about him, Havoc, who is crazy and unhinged, and Knox, the quiet, ruthless leader.
They all feel an attraction to Lena and her to them. Things move quickly as we find out Lena’s kidnapping was not random. Lena who never felt wanted due to growing up in foster care, finds three men who become her found family. This was ultra steamy and a bit darker than some of Tess Chase’s other books.
This was solid 4.5, however the story is not wrapped up in this book, setting up a second book.

From going to a normal girl to a kidnapped one in less than 12 hours of signing up for a dating app has got to be a record. That’s what you get for listening to your friends and have fun/live a little. The FMC in all aspects except for sexual is pretty normal and grounded which I liked. When the spice started happening it felt like we were going zero to sixty faster than you can blink. While the spice was very very good I felt like there was little build up in the plot for it? I mean, I’m not complaining I’m just observing how powerful a little bit of banter goes a long way. While this is apparently part one in the series it didn’t end in a cliffhanger which I appreciate. Mayhaps I’ll pick this universe up another day.

Could Barely Finish
It’s been a very long time since I read a book where both the writing and all of the characters were terrible. I almost DNF at 40%. However, I did want to know the resolution of the mystery and as I suspected, it was completely unsatisfying and resolved in the quickest, worst way, probably possible to write. The main character Lena is probably the stupidest dumbest, most annoying main character I have ever had the displeasure to read. At least once a chapter, she was crying about how she doesn’t understand why her life is like this and she’s just a barista who makes coffee. The three male characters the author clearly tried to do the stereotypical one of them is the control freak, one of them is the nerd and one of them is the unhinged type, and she failed miserably. They were pretty much all carbon copies of one another. Honestly, don’t waste your time. The big bad mystery is so stupid in the end I regret pushing through this book.

This was a very different kind of story than I expected. Lena is a barista who has nothing going for her, but her job until one day, her friends convince her to join a dating app where she meets a man who spikes her drink, when she wakes up, tied to a chair, and three men surrounding her. The three men are, Havoc, who doesn’t listen to orders and creates disorder, Vale with his physical scars and Knox who is the leader of the three of them. Little did they know by rescuing Lena a whole load of problems start happening. Lena is taking again and the guys have to come and rescue her. Then Lena discovers who her father is but the ending wasn’t so final and I believe that they could be more or it’s just going to leave us hanging like that. The ending is all four of them live together, the story is full of heat.

I am so mad at myself. I should have waited to read this book but I wanted to see how well this book would turn out and let me say that this book turned out super amazing the spice on this book OMG I was fanning myself because I was enjoying it a little too much lol
This book was so good and will have you ready fast pace and when I say you will love all of them you will and I don’t say that a lot. I have nee book boyfriends please yes!! I need all three of them.

Wow! All sorts of stuff going on in this book. The MMCs are hot and on a mission. The FMC is not the mission, but is thought to be collateral damage. This begins a story of intrigue and suspense. I could wait to turn the page to see what happened next. There were lots of surprises and secrets that were revealed later in the book. There was plenty of yummy spice and really good banter. All four of the main characters were pretty witty. This book is long but read fast ans was easy to digest. It was gripping and exciting. I loved it. I cannot wait for the next one. I would definitely recommend this novel.

Lena is a single woman who has great friends. They are worried that she does not date or do anything fun. Lena works and works some more. She finally agrees to get on a dating app. She had misgivings about the date, butttttt. They go to a fancy resturant and she is drugged. She wakes up hood over her head, feet and hands tied. She hears lots of noise and smells blood. She is being abducted from the kidnappers. Secret societies, 3 handsome kidnappers, Havoc, Knox and Vale and what is she to do? Great read, way to grab your attention.

I really wanted to like this one because the premise sounded right up my alley, but it just wasn't for me.
From the beginning I struggled to connect with the characters, and the story never really pulled me in. The pacing felt off, and I kept waiting for that moment where everything would click... but it never happened. I found myself forcing my way through instead of looking forward to picking it back up.
I ended up DNFing because I wasn't invested enough to keep going. It wasn't necessarily a bad book, it just didn't hold my attention, and life is too short when my TBR is already overflowing. 📚

Top 10 most loose plot and romance connection I've ever read
Its starts out great, I'll give it that. Then it spirals and doesn't stop until the book ends. It reads like a mystery but not a well thought one. I don't even want to know anymore after a little over halfway through. It has what feels like random sex scenes at the start to just give a reason for the later ones. Stuff isn't adding up and I don't mean in a good way. The ending also seems forced and a means to an end. Maybe it might her first book or a theme out of her element. One book can't knock me off from reading another book from this author.

Thinking nothing worse could happen, she's not prepared for what's to come. Lena meets someone who she never thought she would and who she wants nothing to do with. Through it all she comes to love the guys who have given everything to keep her safe.

The story of steamy engaging Alphas that turned into very suspenseful written book by Tess Chase. It keeps you on your toes, full of action. It’s got a large amount of suspense that doesn't resolve at the end of this book that drives you absolutely insane. The story is dark, intense, and packed with suspense, with plenty of chemistry and tension between the characters.
The plot kept me engaged, and I found myself wanting to know what would happen next. While some parts felt a little over the top, it fit the tone of the book and made for an entertaining ride with a dark romance insane ride.

What a pageturner this turned out to be...
Imagine your friends signing you up to a datingapp, you get an immediate respons, the date feels a bit off but you think the guy is nervous too. Then: you wake up blindfolded and three masked men eventually take you with them....

I think you’ll like it
I liked the premise enough to keep reading, mostly because I got too invested to quit. That being said, be prepared for a lot of repetition. It’s distracting at times and made me stop reading twice. I only kept going because secret societies intrigue me.
I think you’ll enjoy the read. My reading quirks are my own issue, and the story is interesting enough to pull you in. Took me a long time to finish because I quit reading it twice, but once I started again, it went pretty quickly.

I like that Lena refuses to fall apart, that her men all agree that she needs to be protected, risking everything for her, and they choose one another in the end. It does seem like there potentially will be a second book.

This series was excellent, and this book had me completely engrossed in it! It was such an engaging, refreshing take on a classic trope that kept me completely hooked from the very first page.
The storyline was really well written, and the chemistry between the characters was absolutely fantastic. It had an excellent mix of tension, depth, and major steam that made it impossible to put down. Highly recommended if you are looking for a captivating, intense read with powerful alpha heroes!

I found Lena, Havoc, Vale, and Knox's story dark. Someone is after Lena and the others are sent to rescue her. As the story unfolds, there are more secrets than there are answers. The book does keep your interest as the background of Lena and the men are revealed.
If you find dark mysteries, a reverse harem romance, and steam, this book is for you.

loved it !!! love, love, love Lena, Knox, Havoc and Vale !!!! this is their story... a fun fast paced rom/com drama... it started with a kidnapping and a rescue ... they rescued her !!! they were on a mission but, she kind of got in the way !!! they are all unhinged but, in the best way ... this really was so good !!! they all just clicked together !!!.

Ok so wow. The twist that wasn't really because I saw it the first time someone asked if she knew the name. The crazy that is Havoc. The control of Knox. The penance of Vale. Lena absorbed it all. Amazing. Took a bit to get used to the style of writing because it shifted from pov to bullet point and everything else but the story is so good.

This is AI. I see the metaphor “dipping my fry into the ketchup with surgical precision” that my eyes are stuck in a permanent roll because of how nonsensical it is. You can cut things with surgical precision, you can maybe even paint with surgical precision but this was the phrase the cemented that this is an AI written book.
I don’t recommend.

Lots of steamy stuff in this book. Three basically psychopaths on a mission and one confused woman who becomes their mission. A decent plot and some dramatic parts and action sequences that kept the story moving along. A good read.
