Tara moves to Columbus, and Sadie thinks it’s over. Caleb and Sadie are in counseling. Caleb tries to defend himself…at first. But the counselor sees through his excuses, so does Sadie. Months go by and their marriage is better. They’re trying for another kid. Sadie sees a post from a wife and mother in Columbus documenting Tara since her move. Tara is doing THE SAME THING to this wife that she did to Sadie. Sadie realizes that Tara did not grow, mature or change, she just moved onto a new target. She book ends with Sadie texting the wife and telling her what to do.

**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**

This book just didn’t work. Caleb was an a-hole. He literally made excuses for his behavior, citing that nothing physical happened. Hey, a-hole, an emotional affair is still an affair. And HE DID touch her, he held her hand! He doesn’t grow, he doesn’t change. Going to counseling isn’t change, it’s the least he could do after betraying his wife and child. Sadie was initially a strong character. She documented the evidence, she built a case. But in the end she was spineless. Not only did she not kick Caleb out of the house, but she remained married to him! She should’ve gone scratched earth on the two awful cheaters! She literally didn’t do anything with the evidence she gathered, why gather it in the first place. Then she just texts the other wife in Columbus. You don’t find out what happened to the other wife. Nothing comes of that thread! Then there is the AWFUL HOME-WRECKER, Tara, nothing happens to Tara! She literally wormed her way into Sadie’s marriage, tried to steal her husband and nearly broke her marriage…and nothing happens to her! She loses her best friend, boo hoo, obviously she wasn’t really a best friend. Then she moves to a different city and tries the same scheme on another married couple. This woman deserved utter ruination! She was a homewrecking would be wh*ore who deserved no mercy! Why didn’t the author doll out suitable punishment for the awful OW?! I seriously don’t understand books like these! No consequences for the awful traitors. And the MC’s have to just live gracefully with the fallout. This book was very disappointing!

This scary

I really hated the husband and friend especially when he started lying and gaslight ing her. He knew what he was letting happen. I know they went to.counseling but I would never trust him again. Ever. It was sad. Maybe if he hadn't known what was happening but he did. The friend is not a friend. She is s predator. I.liked that she was helping another one of Tara's victims.

I read this one first out of the series and it ended up being my favorite out of the series. These are all clearly written using AI, but honestly? The drama kept me going 😂
And the interconnection is crazzzzzy. Such a crazy storyline.

In this one specifically, I loved the main character the most. The husband seemed like such a genuine guy and was seriously struggling with needing to be needed. He went about it the wrong way definitely and it would be hard to forgive but the counseling helped a lot in my opinion. It felt more real. I also LOVED the FMC in this book. She was awesome. I loved her.

Ok , wow! This one got me heated !! So 3 stars for that! I will say the fmc allowed too many things to happen before she confronted the bff ow but I liked it for the story bc I kept thinking “girl, do something!!” I wish she showed her husband what “crazy “ looked like when he told her she was acting like it when she brought up her suspicions to him about the ow. I did like the camera proof of all of it and gah idk i wanted the mmc to get hurt like cry grovel bc of his freaking LIES!!! I wanted the author to put in the story some romance or emotion from the MCs themselves rather than just them eating together. I think that would’ve helped with the sting of the gut punch to really be felt. I wish the mmc had a POV and the ending needed work but wow, for those who like emotional angst trope this hits that target.

Sometimes you choose to eat something that's not good for you. Sometimes you read something and don't expect it to be good. This book was OK. It had an AI feel in that it was very repetitive. The H and h have been married for five years. She is a high school English teacher. He is a firefighter. Her best friend of twenty-two years/ OW returns to their small town after her divorce. The OW begins inserting herself into the h's marriage - coming over four nights a week when the H is home but not when he is on duty. The OW declines invitations from the h if the H will not be home. The h watches the way the OW's touching the H and the way the OW changes the way she is dressing for the H. The h tries to share her concerns with the H. He dismisses them. The h sets up a camera in her living room and records visits by the OW that the H does not tell the h about. The H learns about emotional affairs. The h learns that she misses her friend but not the woman she became..

The story is exactly how the title says.
Heroines bff recently divorced starts coming to the heroine and her hubbys house everytime there’s the hero.
When the heroine is home alone the bff finds excused and never comes.
She’s practically living with them.
The heroine starts having some doubts and eventually realizes her bff is trying to seduce her husband.
The hero in all this is just a secondary character, since he’s kind of passive and doesn’t seem like he notice ow until the heroine tells him that bff is in love with him.
The hero gaslights her and tells her she’s crazy.
But soon afterwards ow starts coming to their place when the heroine is away and she decides to put a cam inside their house to see what happens.
Nothing bad happens but ow is very touchy with the hero and he doesn’t reject her.
So she confronts him and he confirms that he was flattered by her attention.
Then she goes to her bff and break up with her.
She and the heroine go to therapy where he is forced to admit he did the heroine wrong.
Hero is a pale and not very defined character but in the end they reconcile.
Ow moves away and eventually tries to steal another woman’s husband with the same pattern of behavior.
The book was very light and not much deep, just an afternoon on the beach kind of reading.
We don’t know if the hero felt attracted to ow but it looks like he felt needed and he played the hero so it was more an ego problem than a real attraction.
The angst was quite good.

Cheating = H has emotional affair with the h's bff/OW

h sees H with OW = on multiple occasions, OW will touch H, hug the H a little too long, only come to visit when H is home, will visit H alone, etc. h sets up a camera and watches a few time the OW and H sitting next to each other and once holding hands

Grovel = NOPE. The H does NOT get credit for groveling. First because he would have let everything spiral with OW if h had not stopped it. Second, he gaslit and lied to the h because it as easier and to protect his time with the OW. Third, h is the one who said therapy or else; H did. not do anything to make amends before he was basically given the ultimatum of the h or the OW. So yeah, no grovel tag will be given to this book.

OW drama = see all above. OW tried to manipulate the h back into a friendship, no success. OW tried to get other people to get h to talk with her even including the H to make a plea for her; no success. Comeuppance? OW is cut out of h's life and eventually moves away only to do what she did to the h to some other poor woman. Leopard did not change its spots.

I liked it but there was many contradictions. She would text her he wasn't gonna be home but then text plans changed and he was actually gonna be but say a different day. Why would the plans have changed then if it was a different day, the guy needed coverage on Tuesday but you said he had it figured out on Wednesday.

Also she reads a text from Tara to her husband on his fun to have fun at the firehouse BBQ. And she notes her husband doesn't respond. However a week later she implies she texted for the first time by getting her number from Sadie.

There are more discrepancies like this which are usually because it's AI written. I don't want to be the person who assumes and I hate throwing out that accusation so I hope it's just lack of a proof reader and a distracted author.

This was almost a 4 star, but it happened! 3/12 stars😯

Almost all of these grovel stories have timeline issues. We almost made it through, but then it happened, Tuesday became Wednesday as the fmc drove home from work.
This was actually a good read about an emotional affair. The fmc had a best friend for 22 years when said friend started inserting herself into her marriage.
I was so sad at the husbands response when the fmc tried to talk to him about everything.
Sometimes paying attention to the small things matter, especially in a relationship. Enjoy the book.

Wow

This is a definition of emotional affair which i was unclear about. I got mad that she didnt act and skipped a few pages until she did. No doubt there r women who do exactly what tara did. And the wife doesn't see it until its a physical affair. Mens egos r so fragile and women cant possibly take care of a fragile male ego and do everything else required of them. So men grow up and take care of ur woman

Good

No big scenes. Just a woman addressing what she sees as wrong with her friend's and her husband's behaviour. How insidious these behaviours can be. And how she dealt with it and the pain it causes. Good story well told. Story line held. Grammar and punctuation appropriate which is rare in so many on line books in this genre.

The h, Sadie, was a fool who allowed the situation to go on for far too long before she said anything to her husband. When he got defensive, and told her she should "see someone", she should have given him an ultimatum then and there.

Decent Story but Drawn Out

Like this story and it felt well-rounded, but drawn-out. The first several chapters are repetitive and could have been condensed for a story that flowed much better. Overall, good read.

Dry read

This short book didn’t need 146 pages to finish it should have been over in 46 pages. There was way to much introspection and not enough actual dialogue
