Loved this book. I really enjoyed the sense of journeying through locations in the north east of England, culminating on the beautiful Holy Island, and didn't expect the Cuthbert-infused ending that the story delivers. There is added poignancy too, as the story is an edited version of a manuscript which Sue Cullimore discovered amongst the possessions of her late father, Tom Walker. This intergenerational aspect gives added life and authenticity to the story's historical 1980s setting - although the book's themes are highly relevant to current global uncertainties. Thoroughly recommend giving this a read.
