Rate this book
Book Summary of An Introduction To Energy Conversion Turbomachinery (Volume -III) This series in three volumes offers a comprehensive introduction to energy conversion. It deals with energy, its collection and release from natural sources and conversion into useful work. Volume I provides basic knowledge of thermodynamics necessary for the study by energy conversion. The treatment is based on a mixed approach involving both the classical and microscopic treatment. Volume II begins with an account of available natural forms of energy release and cycles necessary for conversion into work. Other auxiliary equipment like air compressors and reversed heat engine cycles have also been included. Volume III introduces the major energy conversion devices used in practice, turbomachinery. The approach and emphasis are such as to provide enough theory along with sufficient practical detail, so that student learns the principles, in addition to the details of real systems. Volume I: Basic Thermodynamics Volume II: Energy Conversion Cycles Volume III: Turbomachinery About The Author Professor Manohar Prasad of Mechanical Engineering Department of I IT Kanpur has authored three books of Energy Conversion and one book of Refrigeration and Airconditioning. He has guided about two dozen postgraduate students and published five dozen research papers in the national and international journals and conferences. In recognition of research contributions he was rewarded Sir Rajendra Nath Mookherjee memorial gold medal and N. A. lyengar memorial prize of the Institution of Engineers (I). He is also member of professional bodies including that of the International Institute of Refrigeration (Paris). Table of Contents Principles of Turbomachinery Energy Exc
