A deliberate calculated compromise orchestrated by Miss Bingley goes horribly wrong for her!!
At first it appears just as bad for our favorite couple!
But these two intelligent people decide to go ahead with the inevitable engagement while investigating who was really responsible!
After agreeing that if there was a way to dissolve the engagement in an honorable way. They had much to think about as they bonded.
They conducted their courtship in a very proper way viewed by the inhabitants of Meryton.
The most striking part is when Elizabeth finds out who trapped her with Darcy..But she does not inform him!
The ramifications are too dire for Jane, Bingley and incredibly Miss Bingley!!
Sadly both feel that the other the other may not want to be married and if the perpetrator is discovered they could both be free. But that’s not what either of them wanted!
You will discover a Miss Bingley that may have feelings for others, rather than just herself!
A Elizabeth who selflessly tries to shoulder the blame for the compromise.
The end is brilliant and was satisfying enjoyable read throughout:)
A very in depth character study of Darcy and Elizabeth. Although they accepted the reasoning resulting from the compromise yet they take the situation very seriously and realization that punishment is not always without its own consequences.
And in the ensuing months they finally admit their love.
A seriously angsty and gothic feeling variation inspired by Jane Austen’s classic novel Pride and Prejudice by Sophie Forsyth. I liked it but I wouldn’t have managed to be as merciful.
I wanted to love this book because I thought the machinations of Caroline Bingly would be entertaining... but they were not. Mainly because it so drawn out that my interest was not up to the challenge. I think this would have been a good story at 150 to 200 pages. Sorry.
