Creeping home during an ice storm, Ruth spots a little boy in pajamas outside the hardware store. Hutch's search for the child's family takes him from the twisting road on Devil's Backbone to Lousiana's bayous, and connects to several cold cases.
What fun to return to Colinas County, to hang out with the adorable Friday! I especially like Ruth. She's no damsel-in-distress. She handles what trouble life throws at her; her relationship with Hutch is built on strength.
