Ciara Knight is a USA Today bestselling and Maggie Award-winning author of heartwarming romance.
Her popular sweet romance series, Sweetwater County (rated for all audiences and enjoyed by over a million readers), is a small-town romance full of family trials, friendly competition, and community love.
4.5 Stars. Love Sweetwater County, love the characters, love the themes... it's just a good time. Love the disability representation in this one. Maverick was a great character and I loved the little boy, Ryan.
I have to say the Sweetwater County stories never fail to amaze me. Like the ones that came before, this one has the small town feel that makes you want to live in one. The new characters added to those who have been in the stories from the beginning make for an excellent read. I really enjoyed how this story line unfolded and how appropriate for it to be released on Memorial Day. If you liked the other books set in this county, this is a must read. If you never read any of thing, don’t let that stop you, each of them are a story in their own right and you do not have to have read any to love this one.
Hones, this book was terrible. The FMC, Julia flat pissed me off. Talking about how all the men in her and her son's lives 'left' them, particularly her late husband. Only he didn't 'leave' them, he died in the war. As the widow of a man who CHOSE to die, I'm beyond insulted. I know grieving for a spouse is hard. It rios you apart daily, and if there's a child, you can never show it. This woman however doesn't want to get into a relationship because she's afraid he'll leave like everyone else? Honestly? And the psychiatrist who instead of trying to help Maverick understand his fears surrounding his prosthetics, he talks down to him? As though he isn't good enough if he's in a wheelchair? In one book, this author manages to insult Veterans, portrays a widow as a selfish twit, and makes psychiatrists look bad. Don't waste your time.
4th of July in Sweetwater County is about Julia Cramer. She is a widow with a young son working hard to make ends meet. She meets Maverick Wilson who is in a wheelchair after losing both of his legs while in the military. They plan to work together to open a new facility for veterans and their families. Julia's job would be to organize the day-to-day affairs of the facility allowing her to have her son with her when he's not in school. This is a sweet story with likable characters who are trying to move on after suffering from events in their pasts.
Julia is a heartbroken war widow raising her young son. Maverick is a wounded warrior dealing with his issues of not feeling "complete". When these two meet to help work on a Veterans Center they cant deny the sparks that are flying between them. Sweet romance I would recommend for all.
I love this book it leaves you on the edge of your seat. I love the author. She is my number one author. I can't wait to read the next book. I would recommend this author and book to all of my friends.
Another uplifting and happy ending in this beautiful written series, in small town america. I feel I know all the residents and could quite happily live there myself.
Another great read by Ciara Knight. Saddened that I am almost finished with this series. It has been one of the most enjoyable ones that I have read. Loved the twists and turns of this book although it was short the characters developed and the tie in from the prior 6 in the series continues to make a presence.
