A serial attacker is locked up, and his murderous accomplice has been gunned down. But the true mastermind behind their lethal reign of terror still hasn’t been taken in or taken down, so the harrowing case of the Cornbelt Killers isn’t closed—and one murderous woman is determined to keep it that way. The only thing more important to her than evading capture is hunting down her hit list of enemies, topped by Iowa’s Division of Criminal Investigation agent Cam Prescott and forensic psychologist Sophia Channing.

Faced with an opponent both quick-witted and cold-blooded, Cam and Sophia must scramble to keep up with this horrifying new threat. Little do they realize that in this game of cat and mouse, they’re lambs being led to the slaughter.

Kylie Brant

The mother of five children, Kylie Brant claims she began writing to save her sanity. Plotting stories became her method of escape from the reality of constant ball games, chauffeuring kids, and refereeing "minor" disagreements between her perfect offspring.

In 1992 she was elated to get a call from Silhouette offering to buy her second novel. Home with laryngitis at the time, she still managed to croak out agreement, and her career was born. A few months later she went on to sell Rancher's Choice, the first manuscript she’d written.

Kylie is married to her high school sweetheart, and they make their home in Iowa. She insists that all her heroes are based on her husband of 23 years because he possesses that most heroic of make qualities — ironing skills. Those abilities come in handy, as she juggles a full time teaching job with writing and a family.

Doing things the easy way has never held much appeal for this multi award-winning author. She graduated with high honors from the University of Northern Iowa. A graduation photo shows her in cap and gown holding her two sons, one aged 16 months and the other three weeks. She went on to obtain a teaching job working with learning-disabled children while completing her master’s degree at night and during summers.

"There was a time in my life when I could imagine myself as a life-long student," she recalls. "I actually toyed with the idea of pursuing a doctorate. But instead, my life took a spin and I ended up writing romances. I’ve never regretted it!" Her family has since been completed by the birth of another son and a set of twins, a boy and a girl.

Kylie’s books are regularly featured on bestseller lists such as Waldenbooks and B. Dalton Bookseller. With over a million copies of books in print, her novels have been distributed in 20 countries and released in seven languages.

Family and friends are the main focus of Kylie’s life. When she isn’t writing or teaching, she enjoys reading and flower gardening. She loves traveling, preferring beach, ocean, and room service.

A great conclusion to this series. Will definitely be checking out more books by this author.

Special thanks to the lovely Sharon, who gifted me a copy of the book as it was not available on Kindle in my region ... much appreciated. xx

She couldn't breathe. Couldn't think. Only feel

The Cornbelt Killers. That's the media's name for the murderous trio who are using the Midwest as their hunting grounds. DCI agent Cam Prescott and forensic profiler Sophia Channing are responsible for stopping them. Because of their efforts, Mason Vance is in jail. Sonny Baxter is dead. But the mastermind of the trio is still free, and she's the most vicious of the three.

Cam saw his death written in the man's smile, and had a brief moment to mourn the fact that he and Sophie weren't going to have that future after all.

He was deadly serious. "You're in a league of your own."

The "baddie" was pure evil. Cruel, sadistic, horrible. No redeeming feature at all. I don't care how a person suffers in the past ...

I liked the secondary characters also. Wonder if they will get their own story. Jenna and Beckett would be interesting.

Final book in the trilogy. Wish there were more. Very good romantic suspense series that needs to be read in order. The villains are truly creepy. The relationship aspects are very well done and make it easy to feel invested in the well-developed characters. Fast-paced, lots of action and edge-of-your-seat stuff. Highly recommend the entire series.
Audiobook narration is fantastic.

This is the final installment of Circle of Evil featuring Agent Cam Prescott and Forensic Psychiatrist Sophia Channing.

As with all series, I highly recommend they be read in order. These 'could' be read as stand-alones, but there's a lot of information carried over from the first book and makes it a more complete story line.

This is a continuation of serial killers run amok .. threatening Sophia with her very life. It takes a young boy who actually saves Sophia and gives Cam his peace of mind back.

There is so much that goes on in this book ... murders, rapes, fires, bombs, cartels .... it seems I never had a moment to take a deep breath.

I really enjoyed the series. I like a lot of action ..and boy this series certainly has that! I liked the characters, they seemed to be well thought out.

My thanks to NetGalley / Thomas & Mercer for a digital copy in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

FACING EVIL

Third book in the Circle of Evil trilogy- wish there were more. These are very good thriller suspense with a little romance. The violence isn't as graphic as a lot of thrillers, and that I appreciate. I would like to read more about all of the main characters- hope there are more coming.

This is the third in the Circle of Evil trilogy, and I received a free copy on Net Galley per my request. After reading the first and second, I knew I had to pick this one up.

This book wraps up the search for the final Cornbelt Killer. As in Brant's previous novels in this series, her villain, Vickie, is genuinely scary. Here's a woman who thrives off pain and feels absolutely no remorse for the things that she has done to other people. Her complete lack of conscience and sense of responsibility is off-putting and makes her an interesting villain.

Vickie utilizes revenge as a factor in why she chooses her victims, making Sophia a major target. She blames Sophia for the death of her son and partner crime. In an extremely creepy way, Vickie is creative in how she chooses to send men after Sophia. There are also allusions to explosives and her plans to use those on Cam. Her desire for revenge is what drives this final book.

Cam also revisits his undercover FBI task force in this book. This allows him to wrap up a piece of his story line that has been mentioned throughout all three books. It also gives the author an opportunity to reinforce Sophia's feelings for Cam.

Overall, I thought this was a good final book for the series. It wrapped things up nicely and completed the story lines it was meant to.

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Facing Evil through a GoodReads giveaway.

This story is a continuation of earlier work by Brant and the plot is quickly summarized where necessary without boring the reader with too many details. In fact, the prose throughout the book is excellent. It keeps the action moving forward but supplies enough detail that the reader is not lost.

My only real gripe with the book is that the protagonists are somewhat stereotypical. A stoic male law enforcement officer is romantically involved with a psychiatrist who is aiding in a case. Both characters seem real, but don't offer much new in terms of a romance occurring while solving a crime.

The antagonist, on the other hand, is a great character. She's pure evil and commits some very despicable acts. The dive into her background is interesting and she has ties to the antagonists from the earlier work. A female villain should act differently than a typical male villain and the reader is treated to some very gruesome acts that show the touch of a feminine hand.

Overall, Facing Evil is an entertaining read packed full of action that moves quickly. Brant may be more well-known for her romance work, but this story can be read as a straight thriller.

This is a great final book in this trilogy continuing the hunt for the final killer in the group , Cam and Sophia are centre stage again in the hunt for Vickie Baxter but there is a lot more going on than that. There is a lot of action a bit of romance still that in no way detracts from the action which I love. I thought every book just got better and made me more invested in the outcome the sad thing was eventually the last page had to be read but I enjoyed the journey to get there.
Excellently written it captivated and enthralled me I was rooting for the good guys and praying everything would work out and just when you think it's all over something else pops up wow. Well done on this book I loved it.
I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Shocking, dramatic end to the series, even if it read a little like Jaws: The Revenge at some parts. Kylie Brant makes a convincing case of the mother as mastermind and serial killer, and once more, draws Cam and Sophia deep into her web of intrigue, lies and death. There's no point in which a plot twist didn't surprise me and I was always kept a step behind in the cat-and-mouse game Vickie Baxter played with the cops, which made for a very entertaining, stomach-dropping read. The secondary characters were as always interesting too and I only wished Ms. Brant had spent more time developing those loose threads.

I received this book free from NetGalley and Thomas Mercer, in exchange for my honest review.

This book is a trilogy. It's about the DCI and the killers, they track down. The main characters are Cam Prescott and Dr. Sophia Channing, with a host of sub characters, that play integral parts, throughout the series. This book is very well written and very descriptive. The characters are very well developed. The action was nail biting and made me stay up way past my bedtime. I read all three back to back. I would love to read more by this author.
Thank you for the adventures.

Facing Evil

This was the best trilogy that I have read in a long time. I loved the story of Cam and Sophie the whole way through to the end and how each book showed the story of each of the killers. These books were wonderful reads!

Fast paced, thrilling conclusion to the Circle of Evil trilogy

This final book of the Circle of Evil trilogy kept my interest from start to finish. The past pace was maintained throughout and accelerated even more after the half way point, the pages "turning themselves". A lot more detailed sexual activity in this book, which is fine if you like explicit descriptions, but not entirely necessary IMHO. I did like the character development though and exploring more of what made all the characters tick. The sad part is that while this is a fictional novel, there really are such deviant monsters in the real world, and not all victims are as lucky as the main characters in this book.
Well written, and obviously well researched. Bravo Ms Brant. I'm glad I persevered with the first book when I initially had trouble getting into it.
My only criticism in general (& it may be just me) but when there is an abundance of different characters, I have difficulty keeping them straight. I'd love to see all authors list their characters in the beginning of the book when there are more than half a dozen.

Very satisfying conclusion

Can people heal from deep emotional trauma? Kylie Brant gives us a broad cross-section to consider. She also creates moral quandaries and challenges us to confront how we would react in similar situations. And along with this intellectual engagement, there is also the emotional engagement which comes from living with richly drawn characters, both the lovable and the detestable. Add a plot replete with surprises and Ms Brant has created a stunning trilogy.

Circle of Evil

This 3 book series shows you just how Kylie Brant keeps her readers engrossed. I read one book right after the other staying up most of the night. While there is quite a bit of sexual involvement in the stories, it doesn't detract from the suspense which is the main part of the story. Start from book one though so the story makes sense and start reading NOW! ! !

Great ending to the series

Still twisted, but ended on a high note. A lot of therapy will be needed, especially poor Henry. God willing, there are not any more crazed people out there.

Vickie Baxter really was a monster. A wickedly devious one that killed just enough people to stage a jailbreak, and wreak havoc on Cam's team. Her plan for Sophia was truly diabolical. I don't think I'll ever look at Craigslist the same again.

Agent Cam Prescott and Dr. Sophia Channing have been teeming together to catch serial killer Vickie Baxter. They are one step behind her when she helps Mason Vance escape from jail. They have been terrorizing Iowa known as the Cornbelt Killers. When Dr. Channing is taken once again it is up to Cam to figure out where she is being held before it is to late.
