I was so so pissed throughout this whole book with what was happening! If a book can make you that mad, it is definitely a good one and worth reading! This one broke me. I have no idea where the rest of the stories are going to go now, and I don't know how to feel about it. I ship Haide and Legend so hard! I think I loved their stories more than I did Knight and London. I can't believe this is the end of my journey until the rest of the series comes out! 😭

But four books into Meagan Brandy and Amo Jones’ Lords of Rathe world has me wondering if I’ve been converted to a romantasy girlie. I cried for a dragon. Prayed for a king while screaming noooo! Entered many portals and realms. Experienced the power of mates. Felt the magic of a hero, heroine, and crew who aren’t even human.

Oh dear readers, prepare to ride another tantalizingly thrilling roller coaster as you dangle off an emotional, cut-throat cliff in Mate of a Monster. What a death-defying, heart-thrashing, immersive journey! I fell so hard for Haide and Legend. These two fated mates go to battle for and against one another in a complexly woven saga of survival and hard-fought love.

Legend and Haide’s story shook me to my core as I bled for them, their crew, and their heartbreakingly beautiful book. This couple is electric together. Oh was the many-layered Haide a baddie! She is my girl crush, and the dark Legend can hop in my head and stalk me anytime and anywhere.

Mate of a Monster is the best fire-breathing, breath-stealing, heart-pounding adventure. I reveled in the love-hate vibes and epic banter. And I was completely captivated by the secrets, magic, and fight scenes. This love story had me wrapped around its magical and magnetic words, so tightly that we were one. And I welcomed it.

So, yes, I’m now a romantasy girlie. The amazing Brandy and Jones duo have converted me. I am living proof of this penned sorcery. Mate of a Monster still has me reeling and feeling from what felt like an out-of-body experience. All-encompassing. Electrifying, Emotional. Everything. This series and romance are in a realm of their own.

They did us dirty.

Well, I expected retribution and I expected pain but not like that. I really don’t like it when the bad guy kills off one of the main characters, makes you realise how much you yearn for a loophole.
Anyhoo, we find out Haide’s heritage and what was left behind on the Island - loved that btw. She needed a strong position to be taken seriously by the people of Rathe. I kinda wish she had more involvement in everything being undone though.
Did not like how conniving Arabella turned out to be. And what about her brother that the Kings only just found out about? I’m going to assume that’s a loose end for the next duet, just like their mother will be.
Legend took a backseat in this part, he was more of a plaything/chess piece in the war between legends.

*Editing- for a publishing company, the editing sucks. I expect almost perfection for how much I paid for this ebook but there were a few times were the scene changed without my realising- either there was no new paragraph to suggest this or it was in the writing itself. Not to mention the actual typo errors at the end of the book. Maybe if they had advanced readers they could’ve helped prevent this.

Ahh!! This was one of my most anticipated reads & I'm so glad to have gotten a copy!! 

I am loving the world of Rathe & each of the duets within. 

Mate of a Monster is book 2 & the conclusion to Haide & Legend's duet & continues where Mate of a Royal left off. 

Legend betrayed his mate Haide & now she is back. As secrets are unraveling Haide has to decide if she will help restore the bond with Legend - & save his life - or if she will let him suffer for his betrayal. 

I loved this book. I love this world & these characters. I love the chaos between the characters & not having all the facts until they are revealed. This book is deliciously dark - built into this magical world and I definitely enjoy getting lost in Rathe. I cannot wait to see what is in store in future books. If you like books filled with magic and dragons and dates mates & betrayal then I recommend these books!

I’ve been in a reading slump lately—almost a MONTH without reading! 😭 But because I was anticipating this book so much, I decided to pick it up… and THIS BOOK DID NOT DISAPPOINT. 🔥

This book literally made my heart skip a beat! I finished it SO FAST—I couldn’t put it down. I didn’t even care that it was already early morning and I still had to be at work by 7 AM. 😂😂

My emotions were ALL OVER THE PLACE! Haide was fucking AWESOME, I tell you! 😭❤️ And Legend going from calling him a stupid, dumb fucking idiot to falling in love with him again had me SCREAMING. 😂

I was cursing Creed the entire time I was reading, only to end up bawling my eyes out during the last chapters. 😭😭

AND THAT ENDING?! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. 😱

What a way to break my reading slump!

Well, the two QUEENS really know how to conclude a duet!
Mate of a Royal left us readers on one h3ll of a cliffhanger.
This picked up where we left off and had me hooked until the end.
I don’t know how these two do it, but when I open any book into this world, I am mentally entirely anywhere aside from planet Earth.
The magical components had me completely transfixed, and I have concluded that some platform HAS TO PICK THIS up as an adaptation!
These two are pure magic when they write together. I CAN’T GET ENOUGH!!

This was an entertaining quick read detailing the resolution of Haide and Legend's story. I enjoyed the added lore that's in this book, and I thought the authors did a good job of describing Haide working through the trust and abandonment issues resulting from the events in Book 3. The greater focus on the dragons was fun and I hope we get more of them in any future books in this series.

Oh my god! What a masterpiece, I loved everything leading up to the ending. Meghan and Amo are superior co authors. I hated the ending but also loved the ending (as I have freaking tears in my eyes, thanks for that).

What a ride. There has to be a Sinner book right? He’s too broody and in conflict to not get a book.
