Wow! I was looking forward to reading this book based on the blurb and I was so excited for it. This story had my attention from the beginning with the humor, banter and suspense. Imagine a recovery for former stalkers who truly felt overstepping boundaries were justified. Cole and Hailey have the most adorable meet cute and a truly harrowing beginning to their relationship. I really enjoyed this story and cannot wait to get my physical trophy when it comes out!

I love a good meet cute! This book is the perfect blend of dark romance and rom com. I ate this book up, literally did not want to put it down. The plot twists 🤯 I’m committed to keeping my reviews spoiler free, but just know, it’s not what you think!

Upon completion, my personal rating for Stalkers Anonymous is 4.25/5 stars. I was interested in reading this because it was stated to be a dark rom-com, and I’m not huge on dark romance, but I do love a good rom-com. The blurb sounded funny and entertaining, so I was happy to give it a try, and I am so glad I did because BOY did it deliver.
In the digital copy, there was an extensive list of content warnings with minor descriptions. I appreciate this so much because I feel many dark romances don't tend to have a thorough enough content warning for some of the events in the story. The fact that this one was so detailed for any little things was immediately a checked box on my list. I also really liked how the author shared a note of how they don’t condone the behavior they write about, but rather see it as a fictitious source of laughter and entertainment.
I’ll start with some of the story building and details and my opinions and thoughts on them. Hailey is a doctor, specifically a resident in an ER. The only familiarity I have with medical stuff is from watching things like The Pitt, so I can’t speak to the accuracy of the medical moments and if they’d take a person out of the story who might have more experience with them. One instance was involving ketchup packets and a… small, narrow destination. I found it very humorous and enjoyed the laughter, I just also wondered how possible it really may be. Though I decided to go with my suspension of disbelief and not get hung up on any details that weren’t blatantly or easily wrong. A detail of the writing I enjoyed was Cole actually struggling with his behavior. I did expect him to be in this Stalkers group, but to be a guy who didn’t actually have those patterns or behaviors and was only there as a requirement for work. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that he really was struggling with his behaviors, addiction to it, and going too far unprompted. I feel there’s not quite enough representation in the media showing people struggling like that and working to heal it while also backtracking in their progress. It was a more fresh take compared to other things I’ve read in similar themes. I also found the author to have done an excellent job with the POVs. The story is told in first-person narration from alternating chapters between Hailey and Cole. When switching characters in first-person, I will occasionally have trouble picking up whose chapter I’m reading despite any indication, but in this book the author was able to write two distinctive voices, in my opinion, between the two characters' narration. It was done so in a way that I never felt confused or had to check which POV I was in when returning to reading after a break.
I absolutely LOVED the humor and banter between Cole and Hailey. Avoiding spoilers here, it was simply all too relatable for me. The kinds of conversations and jokes they told fit right in with the same things my partner and I say to one another. It was warm and sweet and I really enjoyed their comfort with one another and ability to be themselves. Hailey also felt so many butterflies and dreamy feelings upon their meeting, which I found very relatable as well due to a teenage me having those same thoughts and feelings whenever someone piqued my interest.

A couple of other details I really enjoyed starts with the moment of Cole coming clean to Hailey. It felt very raw and emotional, real even. Reading his confession made my heart twinge for him and brought me to feeling a semblance of how he felt, sorry and defeated. Another thing I liked was the inevitable confrontation between Hailey and Lars. So often, dark romances tend to have a form of assault in the sexual and (obviously) non-consensual variety. Personally, I don’t like reading that or consuming it in any media (which is why I dislike most dark romance), so it sounds horrible to say but I hope you understand where I come from when saying I appreciated Hailey’s confrontation merely being a physical beating and not a complete violation of her body. It was a detail I was glad was not what I had been preparing myself to have to read in the easiest sense.
I do want to point out one inconsistency, which could hopefully be addressed before publishing but isn’t really relevant to the plot: The ages of Cole and his sister Emma. When he first mentions their ages, Cole states that their parents passed away when he was four years old and Emma was two-and-a-half, effectively making that a 1.5 year age gap. (“when I was four and Emma was two and a half.” Ch 3.) A few chapters later when talking to Tyler, Cole says Emma is four years younger than him. (“She’s four years younger than me.” Ch 11) Again, doesn’t change the story, but was something I picked up.
Also, I did wonder throughout much of the story when the dark part of the dark romance was going to come in. I assumed it was after Hailey was in the hospital with wounds and she asked Cole for help with taking down Lars. I’d say that was somewhat the case, but personally I felt the story never really got dark the way other dark romances I’ve read do. That’s probably why I actually enjoyed it so much, but if you’re looking for one of those super dark and twisted stories with REALLY questionable love interests, this probably isn’t going to be it for you. I enjoyed the mental struggles and slight mystery, but it was heavily topped with soppy happy romance that made me all giddy.
Diving into something that really bothered me in the story was just the constant detail of what I assume to be Gen Z people and their association with phones and media. It was one thing when it was simply some annoying people on the trail at the beginning who could've just been labeled as annoying influencers or goofy tourists, but it wasn’t. I rolled my eyes and moved past it, but it popped up again at the coffee shop where Cole and Hailey ran into one another again. I was initially laughing quite a bit at the barista and her inability to spell anyone’s name, but I no longer found it funny when Cole and Hailey had to make it about her oh-so-obvious effect of relying on autocorrect for everything. This was just a personal preference and annoyance I had, but it didn’t continue too much into the story so I was able to look past it, though if it had been through the whole book my opinion would be different. Special mention is the Die Hard Christmas debate. Cole mentions it as his favorite movie and Hailey asks if he thinks it’s a Christmas movie. The whole moment involving Die hard isn’t even a page long, but I am personally so tired of this joke/debate. I don’t find it funny or entertaining, and it’s honestly old at this point. Once again, this is merely my personal preference.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading Stalkers Anonymous. It had the plethora of romantic moments I love, with just the right amount of smut scenes. Cole’s journey and struggle with his addiction and behaviors felt real and vulnerable, and I really loved reading his progress, his relapse, and his acceptance and willingness to try and recover. The dark aspects were mysterious and interesting without being too uncomfortable for my liking, which is what made eme enjoy this even more. Honestly, the pure realness of a lot of this book has compelled me to want to try a few more dark romances to see if perhaps there are others out there that are dark romances yet still light-hearted and humorous like Stalkers Anonymous.

I don’t even know where to start with this one.
This book ended up being so much more. Yes, there’s stalking, suspense, found family, and romance, but at its core this is a story about accountability, healing, and learning that loving someone doesn’t give you the right to make decisions for them.
Cole’s character development was hands down my favorite part of this book. His growth wasn’t rushed and it wasn’t magically fixed by love. You actually get to watch him put the work in. Therapy, accountability, rebuilding trust, and learning to respect boundaries. Every step felt earned.
The letter… if you’ve read it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. It absolutely broke me.
Hailey was everything I wanted in a FMC. Strong, compassionate, and incredibly realistic. Even after everything she went through, she never lost the part of herself that wanted to help people. Watching her slowly rebuild trust instead of instantly forgiving Cole made their relationship feel so much more believable.
I also need to talk about the therapy group because I was NOT expecting that twist. Tyler quickly became one of my favorite side characters and by the end I wanted to be invited to their meetings. Between the stakeout snacks, the tiny pickles on Jessica’s charcuterie board, and the found family they built together, they completely stole my heart.
This book had me stressed, emotional, laughing, and completely invested from beginning to end. It handled some really heavy themes while still leaving room for hope, healing, and a genuinely satisfying ending.
If you love dark rom com, morally gray characters who actually face the consequences of their actions, found family, and a redemption arc that feels earned, this one deserves a spot on your TBR.

Stalkers Anonymous is the perfect book for anyone looking to dip their toes into dark romance. Since it’s a dark rom-com, it doesn’t lean too heavily into the darker elements of the subgenre.
For me, until almost the very end, the book felt like a meet-cute — aside from a few problematic issues with Cole (the MMC), since he has a "little" stalking problem. However, even though he definitely crosses the line, the dark romance aspect is softened by his motivations and how he actually stalks people. I won't go into details to avoid spoilers, haha! But trust me, even if you aren't used to dark romance, you won't find his actions totally uncalled for because of the way his character was built. In fact, I was rooting for him from the very first second!
I absolutely loved Hailey character development! She starts off very closed off, unable to show vulnerability or ask for help. As the story unfolds and things happen, she starts learning how to open up, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch her grow.
For me, the weakest part of the book was the ending. Not only did it feel rushed, but I also felt like the whole subplot involving Stalkers Anonymous kind of derailed Cole's growth. Ironically, this is the exact moment where the plot takes a sharp turn and the dark romance aspects come to light.
Unfortunately, I felt like it undermined Cole's development, which heavily impacted my final rating.
Even so, I had a great time reading it. I highly recommend it to anyone who has never read dark romance and wants to try the genre, or to those who simply prefer a lighter dark romance. Stalkers Anonymous is a fun read with engaging characters, a couple with great chemistry, and for those who enjoy smut, it definitely has a good spice level, haha.

I picked this up expecting a fun, quirky romantic comedy with a little suspense. What I got was a surprisingly emotional, hilarious, and genuinely tense story that completely exceeded my expectations.
Cole is the definition of morally gray done right. He's protective to an unhealthy degree, fully aware that his instincts aren't exactly...normal, and somehow he's still one of the most lovable book boyfriends I've read in a while. His dry humor, unwavering loyalty, and complete devotion to Hailey made him impossible not to root for.
Hailey was equally easy to love. She's intelligent, capable, and refuses to let fear define her, even as the danger surrounding her becomes increasingly real. I appreciated that she never felt like a damsel waiting to be rescued, she held her own while still allowing herself to lean on the people who cared about her.
The balance between humor and darker subject matter was incredibly well done. One moment I was laughing out loud at the absurdity of Stalkers Anonymous and its unforgettable cast of characters, and the next I was genuinely anxious about what was going to happen. The found-family dynamic was one of my favorite parts of the book, and I already want stories about every single member of the group.
If you're looking for a romance that's equal parts funny, suspenseful, and completely unhinged in the best possible way, with a possessive, protective hero who would burn the world down for the woman he loves,this one absolutely delivers.

A humorous romcom that will have you laughing out loud over it's silliness!
Stalkers Anonymous certainly had me chuckling at how ridiculous the premise was- I mean, a stalker support group?! It's a genius book trope!! Hailey & Cole were such a sweet couple, and I loved how their story ended (no spoilers here!). Although, Chewy is my favorite character. You just have to love him!
On a more serious note, this book here really delved into the mindset of obsession and compulsion, and how recovery (of any addiction) is not a straight line. As someone with OCD tendencies, the justifications for the compulsions don't always make sense to everyone; seeing it written out via Cole's POV had me questioning a lot of things. I wanted to slap him with a broomstick during certain scenes, because I kept screaming "SHE TOLD YOU NOT TO!" before realizing "omg, he literally cannot *not* do it."
I loved the therapy group scenes! Lean on your friends, family, and even strangers- they can be the ticket to getting through whatever it is you need to get through!
Stalkers Anonymous certainly had me chuckling at how ridiculous the premise was- I mean, a stalker support group?! It's a genius book trope!! Hailey & Cole were such a sweet couple, and I loved how their story ended (no spoilers here!). Although, Chewy is my favorite character. You just have to love him!
On a more serious note, this book here really delved into the mindset of obsession and compulsion, and how recovery (of any addiction) is not a straight line. Okay but I did love this. Funny and suspenseful and I just didn’t want to put it down.

This story had me hooked from the beginning—mainly because of Cole. Can we get a huge green flag for this man and also maybe get me a napkin because I am drooling over him. The idea of a stalker group therapy immediately got my attention and I loved learning about the different characters and why they were in therapy.

thought this was gonna be hehehaha funny but almost immediately off the bat they making some really good points on the fine line between observing and obsessing and i kinda was immediately locked in. this book would probably be a great book for people who enjoyed the comedy of Lights Out. there was such a fun energy throughout this book while also hitting some extremely serious and necessary points about stalking and and the effects it has on people. both main characters had great chemistry but also the side characters really added an extra element of humor and charm to the story. honestly i would do anything for a book about jessica or tyler now tbh i wanna know more about their stories and more about what led to them being part of the group therapy. the main characters were easy to love and the morally grey theme is actually very textbook example in this (compliment) i loved this book and honestly could use a whole series like this!

This was a hilarious take on group therapy. I was hooked from the second Cole started to introduce himself.
It was the perfect mix of dark romance with the more questionable behaviour that Cole delves into, and rom-com with the meet cute that him and Hailey have.

I really enjoyed the banter and chemistry of the FMC & MMC. Cole and Hailey meet when they rescue a person during a hike. Hailey is a Doctor and Cole works in "security" after a long military career. She's very closed off, and never quite feels like enough and he has serious boundary issues, so serious, that he is in a group that they call "Stalkers Anonymous", for folks that have interpersonal space and boundary issues. He is there for beating his sisters ex man half to death after he repeatedly abused her. What starts as a garden variety romance, turns into a fight to keep Hailey safe. He has been crossing boundaries and she has absolutely no idea. When I finally understood why the group called themselves "Stalkers Anonymous", I couldn't stop laughing. Hailey and Cole have great chemistry and their dialogue flowed freely. Had quite a few spicy romance scenes too. I found myself rooting for their happy ending! Thank you to NetGalley for my ARC.

I loved this book! Hailey and Cole have the perfect meet-cute and fall for each other fast and hard. Cole’s stalkerish personality borders on the edge of protectiveness at first - I love how he rationalizes and then realizes what he’s been doing, with the help of his therapy group. The support and advice his therapist and therapy group gives is spot-on and I really enjoyed and appreciated how this was woven into the plot of the book. Hailey also has a good support network between her friend Rachel and her coworkers.
The plot was interesting and realistic, the dialogue was smooth, and the characters were relatable and likable (even if I caught myself saying “Oh no, don’t do that!” a couple of times)!

I loved reading this dark romance that focuses on the group of lovable misfits that are apart of stalkers anonymous and the relationship between Cole and Hailey. Since this book revolves around stalking, there are a lot of dark elements and obviously unhinged behavior, however there was also a lot of humor within too! The found family that formed within this group was so fun to read about and then all showed up for each other despite the annoyance at the beginning of Cole having to attend with them. They all became there for Cole and Hailey and helped them in their relationship. I loved reading about Cole's therapy and watching their relationship grow throughout. Cole and Hailey definitely for the HEA they deserved, and I loved their story!

It had me genuinely laughing at parts, and about 30% in I was already telling friends to keep an eye out for this release.
I enjoyed that you genuinely see character development on both sides, and it was refreshing to see a FMC actually take a step back when someone displays this type of behavior and ask for time/think things through. As well as seeing the thought process for the MMC and what he does to try and 'curb' those instincts.
The relationship felt real and the banter was great.
Would love to somehow see more of the characters involved in Stalkers Anonymous and what their stories are, especially now knowing what the therapy group actually gets up to.

I couldn’t put the book down, I was walking around my house with my kindle reading trying to get stuff done at the same time. I’m obsessed with Cole, all of his actions were justified and you can’t convince me otherwise 😌

Set in Fort Collins Colorado we follow Cole a recovering (ish) "stalker" and ER doc Hailey.
I loved this couple so much. We truly get to see their relationship grow from start through rough patch and recovering from that.
I will say Cole is a better person than I am. Cause if it was someone I cared about in that situation.... anyway.
The therapy group and self reflection really made you stop and think especially when you can understand where Cole was coming from.
Anyway if you want a rom-com that has stalkers, and a therapy group thats just as unhinged then pick it up. You wont regret it.

This book is exactly what you would expect if your favorite stalker went to group therapy for having issues with personal boundaries. Within group you go through stages of denial, recovery, relapse, and more recovery which is what this book is it’s a process of healing and becoming better versions of ourselves while also not being ashamed of who we once were and you see great character development with Cole Mathews even though some of us may agree he was perfect from the get go! But I promise you will laugh and you might even cry but you will fall in love with each of the characters even the side characters are perfect and I want to learn more about them.

This was such a funny rom com where half the time is cackling so hard in complete shock and awe and the other half I was completely enthralled with the the darker aspects of Cole’s protective side! You could not ask for a more perfect blend of comedy and dark romance. If you're in need of a dark rom-com look no further than this amazing book. There were so many bits that had me laughing out loud and kicking my feet with glee.
Having read multiple books by Dana, I can say with confidence, this was her best book yet, hands down. And that is saying a lot, because her other books are amazing.

The perfect example of a dark rom-com! One minute you're giggling at the banter between characters, the next you're clutching your pearls wondering holy shit what will happen next?!
Cole and Hailey meet each other in such the strangest, meet cute kind of way, at least the first meet. The second meet was very much the meet cute everyone deserves to have. Cole's protective manner is everything Hailey needs in that moment in time and it honestly couldn't be a more perfect pairing.

I really enjoyed reading Stalkers Anonymous, I really liked how we saw both Cole and Haileys characters grow throughout the book. They had an instant connection and great chemistry and they built back up to an even stronger connection after they reconnected. It was definitely a more serious book where I was expecting more of a dark romcom from the description, and I would have loved to see more inside the real stalkers anonymous group then just the small part they played at the end.
