This was such a sweet second-chance/best friends to lovers romance with a ten year promise that actually mattered. I loved watching Andrès and Kalliope grow separately and then come back together as completely different people.
Their relationship felt rooted in genuine friendship, history, trust, and that “I've loved you longer than either of us realised” type of love.
I especially appreciated that Andrès didn't just come back expecting Kalliope to immediately fall into his arms. He understood that she needed to know who he was now.
The two month dating period gave them space to reconnect, rediscover each other, and establish a relationship as adults rather than simply relying on the love they had as teenagers.
Kalliope's healing journey was another highlight for me. After everything Remy did, she had every reason to struggle with trusting another man. Watching her slowly realise that Andrès wasn't Remy and that she could actually be loved, protected, cherished, and prioritised was beautiful.
Andrès was definitely my favourite. 🥹 He had flaws, made mistakes, and had plenty of growing up to do, but he genuinely did the work. He didn't expect his past to magically disappear; he changed his circumstances and his mindset so he could build the future he wanted.
The wedding, the house, the surprises, the pregnancy, and then the twins gave the story such a lovely happily ever after.
My only real complaint is that I would've loved a little more time with them after the wedding and more of their married life before jumping ahead. I wanted to see even more of Kalli and Drè actually settling into their life together because once they finally got together, I wasn't ready for their story to end!
But overall? A beautiful, emotional, messy, funny, romantic read. The ten year promise could've easily been a gimmick, but Egypt Cynae actually made it feel meaningful.

I’ll Love You From Until Forever!
The depth and intensity behind the love Andres and Kalliope had for one another from childhood to adulthood is beautiful. He ran into problem after problem and left but not before a vow to return and marry her. Time, pain, and years separated them. They were able to grow and build them into who they needed to be for each other. Upon his return he reminded her of said vow and put in overtime proving she was indeed what and who he needed. Regardless of the number of years that separated them they made it back to each other, still in love and inseparable as before. She forgave him and they healed. He stepped up and made promises and commitments with the biggest of them all being meeting her at the altar.

All the Feels
This was just what I needed, that real, intentional love. Kalli and Andres were definitely made for each other.
I laughed, cried, and may have cursed a few folk out for having the audacity, but I loved this book.
The ending was EVERYTHING!

The story was a quick read. I wasn't always able to see the chemistry between the couple. The ten year gap was a huge gap for me to grasp.

I really enjoyed this second chance, best friends to lovers story from beginning to end. I loved the way these two loved on each other and were there for each other. Their time apart allowed for Drè to grow up and step into the man he was destined to be and get his careers and money up. Had they not had that separation and him not getting into trouble the way he did, I’m not sure how long it would have taken him to realize that he needed to change some things.
The wedding was chefs kiss and I loved it. I love seeing situations where the man is like money is no object and is generous in how he loves and takes care of his woman. I also loved that we got to actually see them living out their happily ever after in this story and see their lives together after they said I do and not just with a brief epilogue.
If you’re a fan of second chance romance and beat friends to lovers, this is a very enjoyable read.

Andrés and Kalliope made a marriage pact ten years ago. They lost touch, but Andrés made it a point to return to town after the ten years were up. Andrés is ready to marry Kalliope on the spot, but she needs more time since she doesn't know the man he has become. The way that they communicated, dated and got to know each other again was enjoyable. Kalliope had always been Andrés peace and that didn't change over the years. I loved how Andrés was all about making her happy as well as making her dreams come true. Kalliope didn't play about Andrés. To overcome
The story was pure fantasy but I dig it. Leon resenting the child because he has his daddy in his life is ridiculous. Nicole continuously choosing her man over her hurt CHILD encouraged Leon’s callous actions toward Andreś. Listen I don’t care what the circumstances are ain’t no man leaving me for 10 whole years then suddenly pop back up in my life talking bout let’s get married. He could’ve sent for her after he made his first million, she could’ve went to see him when his mother went to see him. I don’t know that turned me all the way off. If a man wants to he would! Although when he came back he was intentional I just wouldn’t be able to step back in line so easily. Them using Remy and Mercedes as place holders for each other is why they both got played in those relationships. I feel like Mercedes’ was the most egregious in her offense but Remy deserved everything he got.

Worth my excitement
Kalliope and Andrès story was pure cuteness. Andrès stood on business when he made that promise to Kalliope when he left for California. I just knew something was going to happen and things were going to be harder for them when the time came, but it worked out. My little giddy self was there for every minute.
Now let's talk about the fact that he remembered every little piece of the conversation they ever had and made all her dreams come true. How she spoke up for him when he didn't want to keep talking to a brick wall. That right there was power in love. When the heart is in sync then nothing or no one else has a chance. He got his life together and beat ever odd. Power couple for sure.

So damn good! I’m a sucker for friends-to-lovers and second chance romance and Egypt did not disappoint! Drè held firm on coming back in 10 years for his best friend and did not come to play with Kalli. Having to leave home abruptly when they were teens Drè knew that to get the girl he had to get his life together. Kalli didn’t see it that way, she loved him since they were kids and was not happy about him leaving her and loosing connection with him over the years. But the heart wants what it wants and theirs belonged with each other!

Friends to lovers
I love their second chance and the amazing connection they had growing up. That connection made their love so much more powerful. The story pulled you in from the beginning but dragged more towards the end. I wanted her to tell June or whatever her name was off so bad or atleast get her lick bacvk for that pettiness during her firing.

This was an exceptional love story. Kalliope and Andres loved each other since 6th grade. Both these people needed to grow up and experience life.

This was a very cute second chance at. The MMC came back for his woman, and he left no confusion about whether or not he was serious. Being young and not being able to have the person that you want can be difficult, but it was a full circle moment when they made their way back to each other. I loved how the FMC was loved properly and felt fully seen by the MMC.

I really love Dre and Kalliope’s relationship from beginning to end….now i don’t like Dre’s mom and i don’t care that she came to the wedding! Husband or not she let that man belittle Dre and chose him over Dre and didn’t take accountability for her part🖕🏽 Kalliope had her man’s back though

I liked the friends to lovers troupe. Andres and Kalli had an unusual pact. However, they were each other's peace and proceeded how they chose.

A love the continued to grow
The patience and love that Kalliope and Andess had for one another was undeniable. I was hooked from the beginning. The way their love continued to deepen for one another even when they hadn't seen each other in ten years was remarkable.
