I love these characters, but it's been so long since I read the last book, I couldn't remember what happened before. I was a bit disappointed this was novella in length and substance. The plot was erie and mysterious, yet no closure given on anything. I was left a bit dissatisfied and wondering what the point of this one in the series was. The writing is good, so it kept me interested the whole way through.

It was so AWESOME to be back in the post apocalyptic world with Frankie and Yorke, Shane, Auden and Beast!!! Along with their many friends Thornewood.

This book had my heart in my throat throughout the whole book! It is an action-packed, heart wrenching story that was hard to put down. If you haven’t started the After The Plague series, I highly recommend it!! This book was the seventh, and there is one more left. It will be hard to say goodbye to this group of people/found family, but especially to our originals: Frankie, Yorke, Shane, Auden and Beat. I LOVE THIS LITTLE FOUND FAMILY!!!

Better and better as the story continues.
A story that started so sweet and touching as they try to find just a little moment of peace, then, quicker than the blink of an eye they are thrust into the fear of the unknown. There were chapters that were so tense I could not put the book down but I also did not really want to read what probably was coming. The author’s writing did an amazing job of building tension and suspense while keeping the characters hope and love in the crosshairs.
Frankie has evolved from a person who always let other people do the hard stuff to the new Frankie of biding her time, looking for weaknesses and openings. To do what it takes. There are so many mixed emotions, anger, rage, survival, it just seems to keep getting worse. The feelings of hopelessness from the treachery, injustice and horror can be felt in the writing. Another amazing read as Frankie and Yorke navigate the new norms of a life after the plague and looking for a better future. Hopefully one that is less dark, which helps to keep up their hope as they find others, who for what ever reason decide to do something that surprises them in a good way.
This is a continuing story line that needs to be read from book one and is continuing after this book. I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed.

I am a big fan of Imogen Keeper and I have read this whole series...and like, everything else she has written. So I was thrilled to find out there was another installment in "After the Plague."

If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic/dystopian survival romances, I think this series is a must read.

With well developed characters and a host of notable side characters, Frankie and Yorke really do have a great found family and plenty of survival aspects to scratch the itch of this sub-genre. This book made me realize how much I missed them and this story and I feel like I should do a re-read now.

This one is action packed and I really enjoyed the (spoiler broadly mentions the major plot) prisoner in the enemy's castle plot. They were very quickly in over their heads and it was nail-biting to watch them work it out.

If this series is new to you, then I definitely recommend it! But you need to start from book 1. If you know this series, I don't think you will be disappointed at all for another story with Yorke and Frankie.

It’s been ages since I last dove into this series (book six was two years ago — wow!) and now we’re already at book eight.
I skipped book seven since it follows a different couple and thought it wasn’t essential to the main storyline, but I’ll probably circle back to it later.
Luckily, I was able to follow the plot here just fine even with that gap.

Some of the core characters were still vivid in my memory, while others felt a little fuzzy at first. But as the story unfolded, those connections came back, and the book itself did a nice job of re introducing who’s who.

The plot thickens quickly — there’s never any peace for Yorke and Frankie’s family. Danger always seems to find them, and this time, it’s a kidnapping.

I loved being reunited with these characters, but honestly, the length felt a bit too short. It read more like a setup for what’s coming next.

With book nine being the finale, I’m so curious to see how it all ends. My hope? That Yorke and Frankie finally get the quiet, peaceful life they deserve with their family.

I was not prepared to be sent to the brink of hell, yet that is exactly where I found myself while reading this book.

In the latest installment of Imogen Keeper's After the Plague series, Yorke, Frankie, and Shane find themselves in a new hellscape straight out of their worst nightmares. They are carjacked on their way to dubious dealings with Lavinia Hope in DC and taken to Charleston. The three are now completely separated from all their Thornewood people and even each other most of the time.

Charleston’s people are highly organized and heavily armed, and they have old instructions to capture Yorke. Now the three must work against the “ruling family”, set wrongly captured prisoners free, and escape with the help of women forced to work in a brothel. Where there is corruption there will be rebellion, and these women are willing to help everyone get out.

This was the darkest part of this series so far, with farcical “trials”, hangings, and dismemberment joining the already long list of travesties this family has dealt with in this apocalyptic world. When will they get a break?!

I hope they give him a metal attachment because how is he gonna do stuff

Also hope Imogen my goat writes more books for this series even if she said Brink is basically the end because I want more of Shane and Ephie like their own series or something because I rlly like them together.

Also did Frankie have a miscarriage that was left unclear I think she had some bleeding but no miscarriage can someone clear that up for me pls

Overall loved this series and the communication between the main characters plus the bond that Frankie and Shasta have, I wanna add the fact that lowkey rlly love that she’s blind now because it can be used a lot in the plot in further books if Imogen does plan to write more because enemies underestimate her. Idk just a thought.

Readers should read the books in order to understand the characters and history. Frankie and Yorke head off to DC but get waylaid to another area where they are held captive. Got some Handmaid Tale vibes from the new area which always freaks me out. I can’t wait for book nine to see what happens next.

I loved this book. It gets crazier and more insane, the more I read, in a good way. It definitely makes me think if an apocalypse happens, I rather be the first to die...unless I had a Yorke. I love Yorke and Frankie's relationship and how it grew since the beginning. I also loved seeing Frankie become more hardened and more adept at surviving in this world. I feel like all the characters are great too. There is plenty of depth to them all. Would definitely recommend this series.

You definitely have to read the other books in this series set in a post apocalyptic world. With various factions struggling for control of the country & the few resources left, Yorke & Frankie are once again kidnapped and terrorized. The injustice of their situation is hard to accept, but after a lot of gore and violence they are able to escape and are on their way to find the rest of their found family. I would like for them to finally get a chance to be happy and thrive, but who knows what lies ahead.

Arc read…..I was very excited to receive Brink as an Arc read having read and loved all the books in the series.
Brink had a fast intense pace, I read it in one day and thoroughly enjoyed it. To be back in Frankie and Yorke’s world once again was great.
