I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted to buy my first book, Desert Warrior, it was a dream come true. I hope to continue living the dream until I keel over of old age on my keyboard.
I was born in Fiji and raised in New Zealand. I also spent three years living and working in Japan, during which time I took the chance to travel around Asia. So far, I've worked as a lawyer, a librarian, a candy factory general hand, a bank temp and an English teacher and not necessarily in that order. Some might call that inconsistency but I call it grist for the writer's mill.

Another great short story given for free by the author!
Tai is a strong dominant and Evie a cute submissive. Tai will need to drive her home after a wild night out.
“Tai, how much did Evie have to drink?” Amos asked from the back.
“Only one drink!” Evie protested. “Or”–a deep frown—“was it two?” Lifting her fingers in front of her face, she started trying to count, except she kept forgetting the number two and had to start over.
He cares so much for her. He would never take advantage of her and he didn't even drink so that he would look after her properly.

A Psy-Changeling short story from the Newsletter Collection about two minor characters, young wolves from the SnowDancer pack. Tai and Evie are driving home from a night in a bar that got out of control - Tai is sober and serious while his tipsy girlfriend is feeling frisky… If you haven’t read anything from this series/author, this gives a taste of the writing style - heavy on the descriptive and emotional aspects, but hints of the intriguing world they inhabit.

“Wild Night” is a short story of only about seven pages in Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling world that takes place in the middle of chapter 9 of Kiss of Snow. It’s written from Tai’s POV and follows him, Evie, and two other young Snowdancer pack members after Hawke comes to break up the fight that had been brewing at the Changeling bar, Wild. Tai is the designated driver, taking the four of them back to the den. Once there, he must get a drunk, but seductive, Evie back to her quarters while trying to resister her feminine wiles.
This is a sweet, little story that I really enjoyed. I’ve always liked Tai and Evie (Indigo’s younger sister) when they’ve appeared in other books of the series and I was rooting for them to get together. There’s definitely a romance building between them even though Evie is a submissive and Tai is a dominant, something that doesn’t always work well in pack dynamics. Thai is a sweetheart and a true gentleman, never taking advantage of a drunken Evie even though she’s doing her best to seduce him. The ending was sweet, romantic, and perfect, making this a nice, if short, addition to the series. As far as I know, these two don’t get their own longer story, but I hope to see more of them as supporting characters in future books.

I love Tai and Evie, this was wayyy to short. I want more. Its so interesting reading about the juveniles, especially one's like Tai who are so determined to become good soldiers and protect the pack, and this short little snippet about him and Evie was just adorable. Talk about CUTE! I still remember Tai was the one who clawed Judd back in Caressed by Ice and look at him now! I hope Nalini comes back to writing about Snow Dancer and Dark River characters again, because I miss my OG loves, and reading this short little extract reminded me about them all over again. <3

Makes me want to get this group of youths good and drunk more often if only to listen to their antics while recording the whole thing on my phone just so we can hear it all over again the next day over bacon and eggs and the hangover cure, screwdrivers (or anything with whiskey, really)!
And WHOA, I’ve read ‘Kiss of Snow’ at this point and already knew of a relationship between Tai and Evie, but I so did not see that one coming!

¡Si! Desde que leí el libro de Índigo y Drew, tenía curiosidad por la historia de Evie y Tai. Evie es la sobreprotegida sumisa hermana menor de Indigo y Tai es un soldado dominante que quiere salir con ella; a causa de la diferencia entre las denominaciones deben ser cuidadosos porque sus lobos podrían poner al otro en una situación complicada. Esta escena está ambientada al principio de Kiss of Snow, luego del fiasco en el bar y está centrada en ellos dos.

This one is super cute! I swear the slice-of-life snippets are some of my favorite things!! This one focuses on Evie and Tai from the SnowDancer pack. After a drunken night out, Tai takes Evie back to her room. I love the emphasis on fully informed and conscious consent and they’re cute together with how they trust each other and are balancing the differences in their place in pack hierarchy.

Lmao drunk juvenile Snowdancer wolves. Of course I enjoyed it. Anyway, this was mushy and sweet and very funny while they were in the car and Tai had to be responsible and drive home some very drunk packmates.
